Hello!

Welcome to the first ever baby and toddler photo contest! Just like all those cutest baby contests you submit pictures of your cute little darlings to, this contest is for baby and toddler sims only.

Not only that, I believe, other than the calendar contests, this is the first one to feature all 3 games as well!

So here's the concept of the contest. This is a 4 stage contest, one where you submit one baby/toddler picture each stage, representing each stage of the seasons. So in plain terms, that means we get a cute fall baby/toddler picture, a cute winter baby/toddler picture, a cute spring baby/toddler picture, and a cute summer baby/toddler picture.

Now for the rules. The picture has to have as its focus a baby OR a toddler sim. Yes, other sims can be included, and you may have as many babies/toddlers in the picture as you wish, but that age group has to be the main focus of the picture. Custom content is allowed to be included. So dress those babies up in all their finery! Photoshopping is only allowed if cc is not available for what effect you wish to create. Even then, that means it is only allowed in that limited a context (seasonal). Also, this should go without saying, but I am saying it anyway, this is a pg 13 site, but more importantly this is a G rated contest. So if it isn't a picture you would feel comfortable sending to a real baby and toddler cutest baby contest, don't put it here either. No grotesque things, no sexualized children, etc. If you are in doubt, just DON'T.

I have two victims er volunteers to be judges so far, but for this contest, I want a judge for each game. I have a Sims 3 judge, and I have one that can be either Sims 2 or 4, so I need one more person to judge that plays either 2 or 4. (or both). While each judge will be judging all 3 games, I feel it is only fair to have one "specialist" per game.

We will start with the fall round, since currently in the Northern hemisphere, it is fall. So please feel free to start submitting pictures for the contest Each round will last 1 week. 6 days to enter, 1 day for judging. The other rules not addressed as of yet are as follows:

1. The pictures need to be a minimum of 960 by 720. slightly lowered size limits, as uploads are allowed 800 by 600
2. First come, First serve. No more than 25 people.
3. No placeholder posts. If you have a picture, submit it. If it is not one that is allowed (for reasons such as photoshopping, not the G rated condition), you will be allowed a chance to correct it within a certain amount of time, after that, someone else can take your place (first round).
4. Only one entry per person, per round. If your picture is accepted, then there is no replacing it. You can remove it, but you can't replace it unless it was requested you do so.
5. Yes, pose boxes are allowed. They fall under the CC is allowed part, but I am sure somebody will ask, so putting this in before they do.
6. Please state what game your picture is taken in. That is usually easily told but just in case

I have a question regarding the quality of the pictures and graphics, well a couple actually. Do the graphics have to be set to high for those of us on cheaper budget computers like me and do the pictures have to be high quality? Although I have no particular interest in competing is it still alright to still ask those questions?

Well yes you can submit. One thing that would be good tho, is when you submit the picture, make sure you mention it was taken on a lower graphics setting due to computer limitations, so the judges can keep that in mind

And on the high setting, if you CAN please do so, if you cannot for fear of damaging the computer (or the computer won't let you) don't and state that as well that the limitations prevent you from even temporarily setting it on high settings

Sorry I had meant to type in no not to. I had just edited my post to fix that writing error. I might just submit a couple if I see some pictures that would spark my interest to participate. The laptop that i'm using right is a Celeron and i'm only using it because my charger to my i5 snapped in half and I would just have to wait for a replacement for it and let me tell that it's a horrible experience playing Sims on this laptop. I had to switch it to power saver just to keep it from overheating and turning off.

Yeah it's just a series of unfortunate events. I'll think about submitting a couple a couple of pictures once I see some examples. I can't take good pictures just to save my life and with the graphics turned to low they would turn out awful.

Okay so if I understand correctly, no Photoshop except season effects like snow, leaves, etc? So no focus effect?

Right. No photoshopping except for seasonal effects and that is mainly for those who don't have seasons packs so they can't be penalized for not having it.

Does cropping count as photo editing or must it be the raw size of our computer screen?

Aha! I love toddlers and babies and I want in on this. So much for sleeping tonight; I've got work to do!

Is there any restriction on the CC we can use? For instance, if a creator's policy says "do not use for stuff", are we not allowed to use it? Should we list everything we use so you guys can check and make sure it's all kosher? What about pay content (or content from partially-pay sites, like TSR...apparently isn't anymore, but used to be)?

^I believe anything from TSR is allowed now because it is all free and it's not an unfair advantage of someone having to pay for better CC anymore.

Well, either way, everything I ended up using was free. I can hunt down and list it all if the mods desire, but otherwise, here's some little Sims (in my faithful TS2) exploring some leaves...
