It depends what's in the files. If the sims are safely extracted/remade, they'll have been imported to Bodyshop and cloned there, and if so they'll be safe.
If they're extracted directly from the game, they're absolutely not safe (not for Pet Stories, either).
If the files are sims2pack files and when you open them in
Clean Installer (probably best to not risk it with the default installer) you get a file that has a name structure something like "d618b67_8d61830a.package" and maybe some CC items, then they're probably fine.
If the sim files inside the Sims2pack file have actual names, or the package file has a name that looks different than the above structure, then they're probably not safe to install.
Been a long while since I installed pets, but I think the safe files look something like this: 0x11e898c3 (pet coats/breeds)
(No idea if they'll be in Sims2pack files, but I think so).
I'm not sure if it will be safe to install anything from the Stories games into TS2 if it hasn't been intentionally remade or properly extracted for TS2, so use at your own risk, especially if there isn't anything written about the files.

If the above download isn't any good, you can install this neighborhood, run the game so it loads in, then extract the sims you want with SimPE, and clone them in Bodyshop:
