This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage
Default How do I install subhoods with the Super Collection for Mac?
I downloaded the Super Collection for Mac. I want to make an uberhood using these premade neighborhoods. I just don't know where to put them. I'm using the newest version (1.2.5) It says "-INSTALL LOCATION-\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate folder" but that's obviously for Windows users. I don't know where the install location is on Mac.

Right click the Sims 2 Super Collection app and choose show package contents to see the gamedata files.

I wrote a guide on how to do this and I put it on InSImenator.org. http://www.insimenator.org/index.ph...c,115634.0.html I hope that this helps you.
I have a Überhood that I set up using the templates from https://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html and it works great.

I have other notable pages there too. Look them over too.

for info on changing the Mac Open File Limit check out my post here http://www.insimenator.org/index.ph...html#msg1628939

Hello, I was really happy to find your comment, because I'm currently struggling to install subhoods for my sims 2 super collection on Mac. Unfortunately the link to your guide on InSimenator.org doesn't seem to work anymore. Do you still know how it works or did you maybe post that guide somewhere else as well?
It would really help! :D
As of now I haven't found anyone else neither on YouTube, Modthesims or elsewhere who has posted a guide for Mac :/

Umm unfortunately InSIMenator.org is currently down, hopefully it will be back up sometime soon. It goes down periodically, but it has always come back online before.

Most of the people that play on Macs are either not techie enough or they don't post about it anywhere. YouTube is not useful if you are looking for Mac info. ModTheSims does have some people that know about playing The Sims 2 on a Mac besides me, so I am not the only one here.

Meanwhile I will try my best to answer you.

First of all start with the Cleaned and Fixed Templates from Meetme2theriver as they are the ones I use.

Second read her documentation: they are for PCs, but they give you a starting point.

Unfortunately I don't seem to have a copy of that post on my iMac, however I remember the basics and I can look at my copy of The Sims™ 2: Super Collection, so I am going to try to give you the instructions that you will need.

First of all You will need to put the Templates in the proper locations on a Mac.

To do this you need to Right Click or Control Click the App. The Sims™ 2: Super Collection and then choose "Show Package Contents"

Then you will see the directory structure:

To Install the Shopping Neighborhoods, Use this Path and so you need to navigate to:

Contents/Assets/Expansion Packs/Open For Business/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate

Open the NeighborhoodTemplate folder and put the folders that have the Shopping Neighborhoods into the folder, they all have names that start with B

You will need a Mod by Mootilda, for MultipleSubhoods, https://modthesims.info/download.php?t=420924 it is called Moo_AllowMultipleShopping.package once it is installed. Put it in your Downloads folder, I suggest that you put it into a subfolder called mods or something like that.

If you are starting a new game I strongly recommend that you replace all the templates that come with the game with the ones that you can get from Meetme2TheRiver, as hers are cleaned and fixed.

If you are just interested in adding Shopping neighborhoods, well I gave you the proper file path. All that you need to do is put the folders that have the Shopping Neighborhoods that you get from Meetme2TheRiver inside the NeighborhoodTemplate folder.

If you want to replace the Vacation Templates:

Contents/Assets/Expansion Packs/Bon Voyage/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate

For the Downtown Template:

Contents/Assets/Expansion Packs/Nightlife/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate

For the University Templates:

Contents/Assets/Expansion Packs/University/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate

For the Seasons Template:

Contents/Assets/Expansion Packs/Seasons/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate

For the Pets Template:

Contents/Assets/Expansion Packs/Pets/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate

For the Main Templates it is different:

Contents/Assets/TSData/Res/UserData/NeighborhoodTemplate

The Mac doesn't have any others, so ignore them.

Ehh Hopefully you understand what I gave you and can follow my instructions, If you have any problems or questions about playing on a Mac feel free to ask me.

BTW I have figured out all of this on my own, I first read what Meetme2TheRiver had written and then started looking at what the Mac paths were, if one is not afraid it is not really hard to figure out...Ehh at least it wasn't difficult for me.

I also know how to Install the CEP, so if you want to know how to do that post a question on it and I will get to it eventually I don't visit ModTheSims daily, i am here every so often, just not on a regular schedule.

Oh Yeah it is perfectly fine to message me on ModTheSims, it is a good idea even as it will get my attention, like in this case.

Thank you very much!
I already have mootildas multiple neighborhood mod.
I tried it out yesterday without really knowing what I was doing (yes patience is not my strong suit ) and there was my mistake I was loading every template into Contents/Assets/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate, so the shopping districts didn't show up.

Also I got another notification on a new thread I posted for the same topic, and sim sample answered with this link:
https://web.archive.org/web/2023041...c,115634.0.html
So your guide is still up there archived :D

I tried it out with your guide and Pleasantview as a shopping district and it works up to the point that I can choose the shopping district and load it. But unfortunately the lots all show up empty. The Familys (Pleasant, Dreamer, etc.) are all there but all the lots come without houses. So there still seems to be something I am doing wrong :/
Do you have any ideas?

Edit: I figured it out, I probably shouldn't have used the same templates I had in the wrong file before. I erased the old ones, redownloaded them used your guide and now everything works, thank you very much! :D
