This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise
Default Any way to tell which world is conflicting with another?
Hi all,

I'm trying to install a new world, but the Launcher is saying that it is already installed. The world is Porto Estivo, which is based off of Sims 3 Sunset Valley, so I'm guessing the issue is an identical world ID. Unfortunately I don't have the CAW files to edit the world ID, so my only recourse is to figure out which other world is conflicting and uninstall that one first Is there any way I can tell which world has the same ID or is conflicting some other way with this new world? Would Sims3 Dashboard maybe be able to tell me if I get them in the same directory?

I've also thought about installing the .world file using the multi-installer, is that another possible way to fix this? I was gonna try that and test it out, but my harddrive died (total coincidence). so I thought I'd ask here for now.

Thanks.

It seems it might also need Monte Vista?

I don't know if installing the .world file will fix the problem.

The CAW files for Sunset Valley can be found here.

I know nothing about CAW but can't you just open this world with CAW and change the ID?

Considering every single player has Sunset Valley, I can't imagine a world download making the rounds with that kind of incompatibility. It is either another custom world or you may have overlooked an outdated version of this same one.

You can use the multi-installer for worlds if you find the world part from the dozens of packages (likely the one with the largest filesize) and replace the file extension with .world instead of .package and install it to your InstalledWorlds folder (and the rest like regular CC).
You can also move your The Sims 3 folder somewhere else temporarily and install your custom worlds one at a time to a newly generated one, starting with Porto Estivo. Then whichever one gives the error instead was the culprit that you can uninstall.
