Sims 2 Legacy Gameplay?
Is there any game play for The Sims 2 Legacy? I'm aware it JUST came out today, but I want to know how the game looks and functions before I do.

I also heard that the Sims 1 and 2 Legacy has denuvo which is a huge nono for peak performance for pcs...

Apparently the Denuvo is only for the Sims 4 stuff you get with purchase.

I found a Steam community post about Denuvo and you're right! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I mean it's just a re-release of Sims 2 Ultimate Edition so as far as game-play goes... same as in a regular Sims 2 play-through? I don't think they have added any new gameplay.

Oh interesting, I thought the textures would be updated and such...Got it confused with a remaster

Yeah, I think several people thought it would be a remaster. But then you realize this is EA and they only do minimum effort.

That's disappointing...The more stuff I'm hearing about Legacy is EA adding more restrictions than actual updates :/

I just bought it by curiosity. Looks identical to be fair. Less laggy that the cracked version, but seriously I hope they debugged at least the neighborhoods and families... I tried to start a new family but when I go to buy mode and hit the confort object category my game crash (maybe because of my 4740 files mods folder) x). First thing tommorow I try without my mods and tell you more about it.

At least it would be nice if they could fix the Sims with the bugged pregnancies.

Well, the music and Ikea thing can be fixed by adding the missing files. It remains to be seen if the game really works better on new computers and will really use more ram, and if the pink soup has really been eliminated. Otherwise, it is the same ultimate collection as years ago but worse.

Edit: Dont buy this!!!

Huh, I guess I'll just stick to the Ultimate Collection then

Also there is no body shop :O

You really don't want this remastered version. We tested it today in stream. It has no IKEA, No Body Shop and scriptorium crashed it immediately. In CAS after opening cc skins it froze. Beth/TeaAddict also posted a lovely pink flashing picture on Tumblr, regardless of what they say, it is NOT fixed. It also didn't detect her graphics card and the shadow fix is identical to simnopkes which is free.

So wait, they didn't fix pink soup?

Screw this butcher shop version then. It's not even April Fools yet.

thanks for the heads up, they are not careful with these wonderful games, they should release a good rerelease, remastered, with new content, but from what you have said, it doesn't even have ikea, etc... and a question, what will the sims 1 version be like? I have never played sims 1, I would like to play, but I am afraid of buying that edition and it being as bad as the sims 2 version.

My experience so far(i just dumped all my mods, cc and hoods into the legacy version) is that it loads much faster, there is less lag. I tried to get pink flashing but no matte how many lots i traveled to i couldn't get the pink soup to happen. That isn't to say that its go as we have seen from many other people but for me it's not there, however the true stress test i have found to always cause pink flashing in UC(for some reason when i tried recreating the tests in UC even this lot was playable) is loading the Perfectwood apartment lot, in the legacy version it just crashes. Other issues my setting wont save, so i have to redo everything every time i load the game, custom skins menu is broken. You can open the menu and choose a skin but the tick and x buttons do not work. So you are stuck in that menu not being able to do anything else but exit cas. Custom skins do show up when you randomize. Lack of Ikea, the missing music o body shop with the other issues outweigh the reduced loading time as for the pink flashing i think i have it under control in the UC version.
Also no RPC, idk if the lighting mods will work without changing the file structure, i couldn't get reshade to work. So many things that a seasoned sims 2 player needs are missing, i am happy a lot more people have access to ts1 and ts2. But to anyone who already has the game this is point less.

Sorry if this looks like its was written by a drunk toddler, as its 5 am here just wanted to share my experience i probably won't remember what i did

The absolute irony of this is the trailer itself for the re-releases is maximum effort. They didn't have to painstakingly recreate a bunch of the furniture paintings and clothes from 1 and 2 as live action costumes and props, format it like one of those old Sims 1 tv spots, complete with the "Brace Yourself. The Sims [blank]" catchphrase. Recreate actual gameplay scenarios from the two games, and make an entirely new song that is a perfect blend of several Sims 1 and 2 songs and SFX....It is an absurdly high effort trailer for such subpar overpriced re-releases...

So as I thought I crashed because of my mods folder. If I found something new like bugs fixes wich I don't think I will, I tell you guys.

Less laggy? No IKEA stuff pack? (is that to do with licensing, I wonder)

Can someone fill me in - is this some official re-release? If it is, I suppose it's only a matter of time before someone looks at the code and determines what exactly it is.

Check out my thoughts on Psymchology (Sim Psychology) - latest post is on the main six aspirations.

Please note that modern licensing restrictions have required the removal of 1 pack and some of the original songs, but we have included as many as possible.

...what.

Does this mean there will be some sort of return of the Sims 2 Store down the line?
