Default Logic skill gain with functional microscopes
Ages ago now, I made some microscopes functional and added Science enthusiasm to them.

https://modthesims.info/showthread....534#post5694534

Someone recently PMed me asking how to change the rate of logic skill gain and I'm baffled.

The rate of logic gain should be in the BCONs somewhere and indeed the BHAV seems to be referencing a BCON when it looks for the rate of skill gain.

But the BCONs are ... confusing. I didn't make the original functional microscope. I just copied it for each new one I wanted to make functional and gave them new GUIDs and new textures/meshes (and added Science enthusiasm). I can't find a BCON that matches the one the BHAV is calling and looking at the BCONs, they don't even seem to be for a microscope. They seem to be for the computer.

Can anyone help solve the mystery?

So you have a skill gain of 450 which is higher than normal (around 300). It its taken from 1003:0, which is called "Tuning - Repair," but the name has no effect. Somebody probably started with resources from the computer. I think that BCONs may only add a layer of complexity here if incorrectly nаmed. I don't like bcons. I have a suspicion that personality axis should be Const 0x0131:0x07 ("Serious") instead of Playful.

Ah, I see it now. Thanks! The 'Repair' name was throwing me off.

What does the personality axis do? Make Playful sims more likely to use the microscope?

I think they gain the skill faster the more playful or whatever you choose.
