Default SimPE 75 & 77 Not Showing Subsets for Some CEPs
I recently switched from a CD install to the Ultimate Collection and am having trouble making recolors in SimPe. The highest versions, 0.77 and 0.75, wont recognize some of the CEPs I have to add subsets to Maxis objects. I've noticed it on two objects where the CEPs were made by Hafiseazale: the Basegame Chimeway Piano (I'm using HugeLunatic's update of Hafi's CEP) and the Nightlife Four Vegetable's painting. If I load SimPE 0.73 I can recolor the piano with the subsets but Object Workshop is only showing Basegame objects. I can't get 0.73 to recognize my full install path because it says it can't find Sims2.exe. The Ultimate collection didn't give me that exe, just the Sims2EP9.exe from Mansions & Garden

I'd prefer to use SimPE 0.75 for all my recolors but can't figure out how to get it to load the subsets on these objects. If that's not possible, then how do I get 0.73 to recognize my install path?

Have you set up the paths properly? You should point them to the first folder of each pack + the BG + the savegame location. For the UC you need to find the individual ones in the collections.

For the CEPs, did you install those correctly? Usually one file goes in Downloads and another in the install location (CEPextra folder, I'd think). You likely have to point SimPE toward that folder, too.

A bit unsure if 0.73 works with the UC (I had trouble setting it up with the UC - but used it fine with my CD game), but I think some people have managed it, so likely not impossible.

Yes the CEP is all set up correctly, I've checked it numerous times and I've been using it since it first came out so I'm very familiar with it

Manually setting the paths in SimPE 0.73 doesn't help because it always says it can't find Sims2.exe. There is no Sims2.exe in the Ultimate Collection I have, just Sims2EP9.exe and pointing it toward that folder doesn't help either

Thank you for replying, I do appreciate any help. Unfortunately I have already tried your suggestions a few times with no luck

Which version of .75 are you using? 75.69 version that I shared here works fine, including the specific objects you mentioned. Since the issue is with two specific extras, the one is broke(new fixed version available) and the other has a fixed version. I'd suggest you delete whatever you have for them and then download new. If you had tried to just copy/paste and override, something may not have worked properly.

eta: the painting actually had an error, fixed version http://www.simfileshare.net/download/5349695/

I was using 75.1, wasn't aware of another version, but I just downloaded 75.69 and am having the same problem with that. I deleted the Four Vegetables CEPs and put in yours, thank you for fixing the error, but I'm still not getting any subset options. I also did delete the piano CEP before adding your updated version but it's still not being recognized by the newer versions of SimPE. I tried a Maxis bed and that gives me subset options like normal. So I started trying a few other paintings that Hafi made CEPs to add subsets (Lillypads, This Old Cabin, and On Their Toes) and I'm having the same problem with those, it's not giving me any subset options. Then I tried the AL How Eloquent that Hafi made recolorable and added subsets to, SimPE 75.69 wont even let me recolor it but 75.1 lets me recolor and recognizes the subsets. I can't figure out why some CEPs are working and some aren't and why the different versions of SimPE are all doing different things

I made sure that my CEPs and the folders they're in are not set to Read Only, they're in the right places and all the SimPE versions I've tried are pointed to them

Does 75.69 have the two CEP extra folders listed in the file table? And are they loading after CEP? https://hugelunatic.com/getting-cep-extras-to-work/

note: the picture in that link shows overrides/bins loading after cep/extras, but I actually have those load before. It all depends on where you put your cc.

That was it, my CEP folders were loading before the ColorEneable files, but I switched the order and it's giving me subsets again. Thank you SO much, I had no clue about load order. Everything now appears to be working fine on 75.1

75.69 and 73.44 still aren't showing stuff from all the EPs and SPs in the Object Wizard, and I've no idea why, but I'd rather use 75.1 anyway so I'm going to consider this closed. I know 75.69 has extra features but I find it really hard to use the Chris Hatch edits of SimPE, especially because I'm on a small laptop monitor and those are set up for big screens

Thank you again, you're a life saver Lunie

This is interesting. I can get 0.75f_qa to work with the UC, all EPs and EPs load, and I can recolor the Durably Plush Teddy Bear. I cannot get 0.75f to work with Legacy - it needs that Sims 2.exe file. I can get 0.77 to work with Legacy, but it loads no textures at all for the Durably Plush Teddy Bear - it just says all MMATs removed in CEP 8. I don't know where that issue lies.
