This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Legacy SimPE Game Paths?
I haven't found any definitive tutorials on making SimPE work with the Legacy Edition. Does anybody know how to get SimPE to recognize the game and the exact game paths that are needed? I have it through EA App.

I've tried looking at my old discs path and stuff online about the Ultimate Collection (never got it) paths but I don't know how to translate it to Legacy.
Me? Sarcastic? Never.

Yes those are the same. My struggle was with the paths in preferences since Object Workshop wasn't loading anything, but I think I managed to get them entered correctly?

However I still get an error in System Check and there aren't any thumbnails for objects.

Are there any tutorials on how to further setup SimPE? I know I need to get DDS Tools. Any help is appreciated!

Edit: Any idea which SimPE version is the best option for Legacy? This version is 0.77.69.22 and is the only one that has objects showing up but it doesn't have Advanced Mode which I really need. Other versions I'm testing give the System Check error "Unable to locate Objects" for the "Check the SimPE FileTable contains the needed Files" despite the paths being the same.

What didn't work for me was that the 0.75f version of SimPE you can download here on MTS absolutely refused to recognize my "original game" as it wanted a Sims 2.exe, which does not exist in Legacy. I was able to get the Chris Hatch 0.77.69 version to work very easily. I had to tell it where original game(Sims2EP9.exe), save game, and DDS utilities were located, and it cheerfully "fixed" the rest when I clicked on "fix". I used the installer.zip, not the light installer.

No. The UC used to install into Program Files (x86)/EA Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. Now it installs into the same path as Legacy, so that old one is the path the autoinstallers look for. Legacy installs into Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2 Legacy (if using the EA version: Steam and Epic versions are different.

I have been told that 0.77 incorporates advanced mode, but I can't find the fences anywhere in Object Workshop. Stairs, yes. I need advanced mode, too, so I am pretty unhappy.

Note that I have UNINSTALLED OneDrive completely. It was really messing with SimPE.

Yeah, the Legacy puts the same game in The Sims 2 Legacy folder, not The Sims 2. Otherwise that's all correct.

Advanced mode is called something different in CH's versions (can't remember what, I don't use those versions), but it's likely in the same place, the "SimPE settings" tab.

Make sure you tick the folders too, in the "File Table" tab.

Fences should be in "Other --> Fences and rails" (unless they've been moved in CH's version?)

So yes, the UC and Legacy both use the same locations. The location of the UC changed when they switched to the EA app.

Version 75.69 ( the link I shared in the SimPE thread) works with the UC from the EA app (the no install version). Ignore the system check errors that say you are missing some of the .exe files, this is normal as there is only one. If you want to add/remove roads then use the newest version. I always recommend using the no install versions, as those seem to be the only ones I can get to retain the paths I've put in.

Advanced mode is now called debug in 77.69. That one mostly works for me, but there are a few sp's that don't load even though they are correct in the file paths.

Yeah, even with debug mode checked there are no fences anywhere in 0.77.69. So now I keep both 0.77.69 and 0.75f on my computer. 0.77 works with legacy, 0.75 works with my UC installed into the old Program Files (x86) path.
