Default Recoloring trees - sparkly?
Hi,

I hope this is the right forum for this.

I am trying to recolor trees for a world that I am creating. I am exporting the IMG-files through S3PE and recoloring (some hue/saturation changes to make them blend in with my terrain). When I have recolored them and import them into my CAW-file for my custom world; they are glitchy and sort of... sparkling?

A "solution" to the sparkling/glitching for this is to blur the img-files a lot, but then they still don't look very good, just ugly in a different way. I have a similar problem with the Panoramic Trees that I am also recoloring - or rather attempting to.

Any thoughts? My initial hypothesis is that the IMG-file-editing-programs that I have attempted are not equipped for these types of projects, but then again I have tried a few...

Has anyone else had similar problems or know what the problem would be?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Could you perhaps include an image? Or perhaps a video that shows the 'sparkling'.

I am very much trying to but it won't let me upload a screenrecording .... I'll upload a photo, but that doesn't really say a lot as it is the movement that is the problem.

I attempted to upload this to tumblr, hoping that it works:

Well Trees and plants in Sims 3 are animated (created using Speedtree) and so that might be why your textures aren't working correctly. See if this method helps you:

Default Attempt 2
Hi,

I have looked at a few tutorials, the one you sent is one, and as far as I understand it I don't need to go into the HEX-files if I am doing a recolor only (?). Updating my recoloring program (buying photoshop) solved the sparkling issue.

Now I have a new issue however. Now there is a white outline in places when zoomed out... I really want to recolor some of the trees as I then don't have to recolor the entire world terrain / objects to fit the existing trees.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, the best thing to do with this would be to post in the general object creation forum, as the only people who read this one are world creators. You might get some other eyes on this question there:

I would put 'recolouring trees' in the subject title.
