Default Lot owned and built by inactive sim gets turned into a rental.
I play on rotation. I had a sim split off from one of the household and buy and build her own lot, made sure she was financially secure to keep the lot. I built it and played her household for a while, then rotated out to another household. I get a message that one of the bigwigs in town has acquired that lot and made it a rental unit. Her house is marked with a yellow house with a star in the map view. She had plenty of money and only a couple of cats and a plumbob in her household.

I tried to prevent this with a caste settings in Story Progression, such as not allowing family to move out, or money management and inventory set to false. I haven't had this happen before and I can't find this problem online.

I'm not sure if this is a game thing or a NRAAS setting.

Thank you.

I might have found the solution here:

https://www.nraas.net/community/chatterbox/topic12866

"My townies are turning all properties to rentals?!"

I have the NRAAS SP Money mod installed, which would explain all of the wheeling and dealing in my town and the rich deadbeat dad

testing it now

Edit: Looks like the yellow house symbol on the map with a star means something else from Late Night. It must be from the CC lot I am using.

Are you using the five tile wide gate that came with Late Night? Using that gate flags a house as having a celebrity in it even if you have celebrities turned off.

Yes. The house has the wide gate with the intercom from Late Night. I was also getting messages when playing another household that so in so in town had brought the lot as rental units, so, at the time I thought the yellow house star with the star meant it was a rental.

I got it sorted out. The NRAAS Story Progression seems to be working.

I’ve run into the same issue with NRAAS Story Progression messing up lot types—especially frustrating when you’re trying to maintain a custom setup like a casino in Sims 3. As someone who loves the thrill of real casinos, I try to recreate that vibe in-game as accurately as possible. That’s why I often turn to sites like https://casinoveri.it/ where you can find real casino layouts, themes, and inspiration that help make Sims venues more authentic and immersive, even with Story Progression quirks.

Check your Lot Options and Caste settings—make sure “Allow Lot Ownership” is true and “Allow Rentable Lot” is false. Also verify SP isn’t set to manage properties for inactive Sims. A lot getting turned into a rental despite stability usually points to NRaas automation.

Thank you. I'll try these out.
