Default Why does selling items sometimes cancel the morphiate spell?
I hope I'm all right to just jump in here with a question. I've only just started learning to mod, and a lot of it has been in pursuit of making the Morphiate spell last longer. I figured out how to do that, however, there is a persistent issue I can't seem to get my head around. For some reason, selling objects in build mode sometimes - but only sometimes - causes the spell to end prematurely. Sim reappears, object disappears, buff ends, as if nothing had ever happened. If anyone has any idea what might be going on under the hood to cause this, I'm very grateful in advance for any help.

I don't have any coding insight on the matter but could it potantially be a fail-safe so that you can't accidentally delete a Sim while in object form?

I suppose that's possible? Without using cheats, you can't interact with the transformed object in live or build mode in any way. I could be wrong, but if it were a failsafe, I'd almost expect it to trigger on entering build mode, not when selling (or buying, I should mention) some random other object. That made me wonder if buying and selling has some sort of effect on surrounding objects or sims* that I'm not aware of.

* That's the other thing. The state of being transformed counts as an action the sim is performing, which leaves me unsure whether buying/selling is causing problems with the transformed object or is cancelling that action for some reason. (Possibly related to the fact that the duration resets when loading a save, which is also a problem, but a lower-priority one in my mind than the spell cancelling itself when you perform basic game functions.)

Are you placing objects near the transformed Sim? I know that with normal Sims if you place an object too close to them in BB it will reset them and move them to a clear space nearby.

I've actually performed a series of not-too-precise experiments (I'm already making an evil wizard spell more evil, why not go ahead and experiment on my sims), trying to figure out what makes the difference between sims reverting in build mode or not. While placing an object too close to them does seem to be a reliable trigger, I've also had it happen when, say, selling an object outside while they're safely inside.

So it seems like it might be the same sort of reset, but when proximity isn't the cause, I'm not sure what would be. (Thank you for taking the time to make these suggestions, by the way, I do really appreciate the help.)
