Default Increase Lot Size 100x100
Has anyone other than thepancake1 been able to increase lot size larger than 64x64, when i increase the lot size to 100x100 the game crashes when selecting the lot.

thepancake1 claims "EA has made some changes so lots bigger than 64x64 will no longer crash the game immediately"
X post from Sep 9, 2024 https://x.com/lowpolypancake/status/1833086054754328855

I can't find anyone else talking about what thepancake1 claims in their X post.

I would think you'd ALSO need a neighborhood that actually supports such lots, and custom neighborhoods aren't really much of a thing at present.

"I really want lots larger than 64x64, so I occasionally just test it to see if anything changed. It always used to crash the game, so I’m quite excited to see some changes"

Yes, I know. And if you make the lot larger in the game than it is actually in the world, I can't imagine the game will behave well. So you'd need to somehow create a world which actually legitimately hosts these lots, rather than writing out of bounds and causing unpredictable results.

I know it won't work on all areas but one area would be Ridgeline Drive, remove all lots and have one big 40x100 area.

I wonder at what stage the foundation breaks 100x or at 65x.

I like how not many people share how things are done.
Nyx_Simmer figured out 7 years ago how to make any world swimmable, never shared the method when they quit modding.
Now 7 years later NerdyDoll has worked it out, hopefully they actually share the mod and method instead of posting pictures.
NerdyDoll says they can only wade in Windenburg ocean because the water is to shallow but Nyx_Simmer was able to swim in the ocean there.

This is from 7 years go.

Honestly, that doesn't mean very much. I mean, I can make a sim swim in concrete if I want. So a screenshot without any substance behind is just nothing more than something like that.

Mind sharing your concrete swimming method? if that's true then you can make a real swimming anywhere mod.
Hope your concrete swimming mod comes before GTA 6 or even sims 5.. lol

You just set the sim's locomotion style to "Swimming", and they start swimming. Doesn't matter if they're on ordinary solid ground, so if you do it while they're on concrete, they swim on concrete.

LOL, That's cheating Anyone can change the walk style animation.

I wanna see your concrete swimming sim.

I can get the command/pie menus for swimming to show anywhere but when i click to swim they just walk as normal.

I didn't do it your way either.

This isn't what Nerdydoll is doing, i'm sure they worked out how to use the OceanEntryPoint spawners/portals, as they mentioned they edited the world files.

I sure Nyx_Simmer was using OceanEntryPoint as well.

An OceanEntryPoint is just a portal that does, well, what I said, though. If a Sim winds up in the ocean or pool zone without having transitioned through an OceanEntryPortal or similar portal, they walk on water instead. You can make a door or a ladder cause Sims to swim in the floor if you want.

I'm going to need a little help with this door thing used to enable swimming.
I've tried adding portalData_OceanBeach to a doors tuning file but when i try to get the sim to walk through the door they do that waving hand when they have routing trouble.

I've added OceanEntryPoint's to that pond in Plaza Mariposa but it doesn't change anything, can only wade though the water.

I found this object in sims 4 studio hiddenPortalOcean, it's tuning file is object_Ocean, it has no mesh so i gave it one and it seems to be placed at all the lots that you can swim from.
I wonder if OceanEntryPoint needs hiddenPortalOcean as well. Caminito del Deseo lot has one for the pond too.

Maybe that's what is missing from my Plaza Mariposa attempts.

Based on the rather random placements of the "door" you made, assuming I'm understanding you correctly and it's an existing object you attached a mesh to so you can see it, I don't think the physical position of the "door" means anything. It's probably the object that sims are "interacting" with when they are swimming.

The pond you are mentioning is probably too shallow for sims to swim in.

At this point you're moving into territory I haven't explored, so your guess becomes as good as mine. Good luck!

I think the pond not working issue is from making stuff clickable as it seems to mess with the pie menus and it's a lot of work finding the right point list for the pond.

By adding a mesh to hiddenPortalOcean i have made it visible in game.

I also created an override of it so i can place it in-game.

Here is a test with the Buoy, without hiddenPortalOcean it's unusable on land but once i place that portal it's usable.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vi...LrRDSEk-ga/view

Deleting the portal from a lot at Sulani the sim is no longer able to enter the water.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z2...jbPn-WvsyC/view

hiddenPortalOcean basically tells a sim hey you can swim here.

Slowing finding what i what to know, if i can get swimming working with the buoy basically you can swim where ever it's placed.

Thanks for the help
