In 2017 or so I removed all my CC from my game without knowing about the possibility of corruption. The only thing I could find in my Sims downloads logs that could cause it was 3 custom food files that I personally don't even remember using. Is that something as dangerous as messing around with corrupted Sims? My game doesn't show any signs of it, the only thing I have is the SDH bug.

Did any sims make the food? The problem is when it shows up in their memories of 'learned to make X'. Also if it gets tagged as their favourite food.

I think it's only memories, but it doesn't corrupt the game. You can remove the memories in simpe.

I don't recall any sims ever making/serving that food, but a common archetype with my forum posts is that I don't remember a whole lot from 2015-2018. I will however look in the memories. I think my game showing no obvious signs of corruption means I am ok.

You can also get broken SWAFs if you remove food, due to all of the food-related wants. Technically you might be able to go through the SWAFs and cleanse them of food-related triggers, but it would be a lot of work.

You should be okay if noone ever made it. In the future try custom foods out in a test neighbourhood and make sure that they work properly and you want them before adding them to your main neighbourhood.

May I ask, what is a SWAF?

In addition to memories, Sims also get favourite food the first time they go into a restaurant, you can remove it with the 'bat box' https://www.tumblr.com/sillysoraya/...ts?source=share I believe.

Memory commander https://modthesims.info/d/673513/memory-commander.html has an option to mass delete invalid food, you could try that.
