This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Women's hair changes when they exercise
Hi, I have a question about a hair that always looks bad when the sim goes to exercise, she has this hair ) and she always stays with the one I put in the photo… Can this be fixed? I thought it was solved by putting a replacement for that hair, although I think it's nice and even so, the sim changes her hair to exercise, even if she goes to the shower after exercising, she keeps that hair until she puts on her everyday clothes. I put this replacement (here ) and it remains the same, I hope you can help me. Thanks
P.S., that replacement hair has a lot of files and I really don't know which ones to remove. Sometimes it doesn't look good. If you could help me with that, I'd appreciate it.

Pretty sure that hair is set up as a ariation of a "hat hair", so it only shows up for some categories (sometimes only Everyday). The rest gets a semi-random Maxis style.

If you use original Maxis hair, and occasionally if you use older hairs (pre-Seasons, pre-Pets - a few things changed in those packs), the hairs have different styles for different categories, or aren't categrized properly for use with all hairs.

It's not a "bug", but can be very annoying.

Can in most cases be fixed with SimPE or with any of the CAS recategorizers (depends a bit on the hair what works).

For maxis hairs you need to make different kinds of recategorizers (essentially extracting the PropertySets for the hairs and fixing the categories - These can cause issues if used together with default replacements that change the whole hair to a different style, so you can only have one or the other)

Not sure if DeeDee's defaults are set up to completely change the hair for all categories. Most of the time, DR hairs tend to be, but there could be exceptions.

Also make sure you actually set up your sims' hair (if you have Seasons) - if you start playing around with different hairstyles for different categories instead of the "locked" hair, you could easily end up with this result if you're not careful to check everything.

I can't do almost anything with Simpe, unfortunately, you say that if I use another replacement hair maybe it won't happen? Could you tell me which of Peggy's hairs is this? https://modthesims.info/d/208014/eb...s-painting.html

No idea bout the Peggy hair, but the pay/donation hairs are at the booty so you can take a look there.

Youc an try with another replacement. Make sure to remove any you've currently got for that hair.

If the hair doesn't have an Athletic version then can't you just set her Athletic hair to something else that looks similar?

Thank you very much for your answers. In the end, I think I did see Peggy Sims' hair. I saw two very similar ones and they were old, so I think I found it. Charity, about her hair, I don't understand why they haven't fixed it. I've tried another replacement and it's still the same. I didn't even know you could change your hairstyle for each outfit. I'll try to change it, although I think I'm going to leave it or try the latest replacement there is for that hair. Thank you.

They haven't fixed it because it isn't broken.

One of my sims has that hair and I checked her and the hair is only available for Everyday, Outerwear and Underwear. All other categories will default to a random hair unless you set a different hair for each of those categories. Maxis likes to do this with hairs that have hats or hairbands or accessories.

To set hair for each category separately:

Get your sim to Change Appearance at a mirror.

As the picture shows, click on 'set hair per outfit'.

Then go through each outfit and set the hair you want for each one that doesn't have the original hair. As you can see, the hair for PJs is a totally different hair.

It's possible to set default replacement hairs up to show for all hair categories, if they aren't set properly already. On some of them it's simple (just changing the "Category" value in each of the PropertySet resources to 137F), while others may require a bit more SimPE tinkering (if they're set up to pull maxis hairs for some categories).

The ones by DeeDee seems to be set up for all categories. It looks like you need most of the files in the folder.

If you add or remove a default file (or any CC, really), make sure you delete the cache files, as they can cause old files to lag behind, especially when you use them on the same sim as before.

Peggy is old so more likely to not have it for every outfit. There are plenty of newer hairs or just set a hair you like for exercise. Changing hair is a feature not a bug.

Most very old peggy hairs seem to lack outerwear, and I think some of them also lack maternity. Some are potentially also binned/familied wrong (same hair colors in the same family, which can cause different colors of the same hair bin to show up for different categories - I had it happen to some maternity clothes at least once, with one blond color for all categories except maternity, which was the same hair but a different blond).

Thank you very much for explaining, the only replacement I see that gives a fairly similar hair is this one ( here ), the others show the one I showed you, when I went to the mirror, I saw the hair with a ribbon, not the one from exercise... now I'm going to leave it with this replacement, it's the one that looks the most like it and when I exercise, it ends up with a similar one... Peggy is older now, how older? I think you're never too old to play the sims!!! ;D

No idea how old they were then, so no idea how old they are now. I think the one(s?) behind the Peggy site left the community a good long while ago. Their newest items are from somewhere around 2010, possibly 11.

Not old in age. Old because her CC was made quite a while ago.
