I’ve never tried to mod before but I’ve always been curious and blown away by some mods. I was just wondering if this mod idea I have would be possible to create?

I recently came across a post of a Sim Nation world map of all the world’s geographical locations and it looks so cool. I thought something like that would make a cool mod.

Like if you could bring up the map somehow and just click on a location to where you’d like travel and it would take you but having it compatible with nraas traveler and porter. Idk 🤷‍♀️

Would something like that be too difficult to make?

Nice idea! I'm assuming you're referring to this. Well, I'd say why not. But that'd require some work. If we specifically talk about this map, we'd better not do that. It contains many locations that belong to other games in the franchise, and WA locations are not present on it. Finally, this image is too large and needs to be resized or cut into parts.

Now I raise my questions to you:
Who'd draw a compatible map?
Where would the vacation worlds be put on the map, since they are not a part of SimNation?
What about custom worlds? How can we handle them on this map?

UI modding seems to be quite uncommon (honestly, I can't think of a single example of a mod with brand new UI elements) and I've always been curious if this is for a technical limitation reason or if it's more because modders are rarely UX designers- which is a whole skill in and of itself that not every programmer will have.
