Hello (again-ish)!

I had an older account on MTS from I think around the time I started playing Sims 2 back when it launched, but its username is my name and I'm trying to exercise a bit more online anonymity :-P

I re-joined as I am hoping to upload and share a tool I've been working on. It's being reviewed, but fingers crossed! I figured I'd say a tiny hello and introduce myself while I wait.

Thank you! I *am* still playing Sims 2! I just took a break a few weeks ago because I'm in the middle of renovating all the Pleasantview houses (I've never actually played any of the EA hoods before so I'm really excited!) and got a bit burnt out on the Pleasant's big 'ol house, haha.

I made a sort of bulk .package file mover for the Sims 3, because I had ended up with one giant folder with all of my CC unsorted and thought instead of taking forever sorting it, I could spend that time learning a bit of Python and C# to make something that can load a bunch of .package files and have it display how the game categorizes it (door, couch, hair, dress, etc.), and then you can select groupings and move them into your (hopefully) structured folder set up! I was able to get through around 2,000 files in a super short period of time and thought I would try to share it with the world!

Glad to hear you're still playing Sims 2 too; there are picture forums for all Sims games on here where you could show us what's happening in the game.

Thank you! I definitely needed some assistance from my partner who luckily is a developer, otherwise it would have taken me tooooo long to figure out.

I will have to check that out! I had only ever been familiar with the forums for like mod related stuff, but there's a lot going on here it seems :-D

Hi. I wonder what age group of players predominates? Has anyone conducted such a survey?

I'm sure someone has with small sample sizes. I imagine it would also vary depending on the instalment, like most active Sims 2 players were likely kids/teens when it came out (like myself, mid 30s), while Sims 4 definitely has a lot of younger players. But that is 100% an assumption, haha.
