Am I going completely mad -- I can't find the sprinkler to put out fires anywhere in buy mode. It shows up in other uni dorms but I can't clone it to find it, help!

Did you look in Misc/Misc? I always have a hard time remembering where it is.

If it's really not there, you downloaded some CC with the same GUID and I wish you luck finding it.

I did! No idea how I've got something with the same GUID for a sprinkler of all things oh my god how would I go about finding that out?

That or -- can I enable the clone tool in uni dorms? As the object exists in game in existing dorms or does any premade house have it?

Are you sure you don't have any object recategorizers? I think the one I use puts the sprinkler in Plumbing/misc. The sprinkler is also one of those objects your eyes skips over 10 times before you notice it (grey blob).

Does it show up for regular residential lots for you? Could have to do with the categorizing.

Try this cheat to enable all building tools in dormitories:

boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled false

it's a bit long, an you can include in your userStartup.cheat file as an alias:

alias dormon "boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled true" "short description" "long description"
alias dormoff "boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled false" "short description" "long description"

Would I need to include both alias lines, or just the toolsdisabled true one?

The other in case you want to revert the change after building. "Disabled true" makes them greyed out. "Disabled false" makes them work.
