Default How to edit my elders lifespan
Hi everyone,
I've been using Simlogical's age group tweak mod to customize my sims' lifespan but I can't understand how to edit my elders lifespan.
I want my elders to live no longer than 20 days (meaning up to 20 days if they age up in platinum aspiration), but I don't know which constant I should edit on SimPE. I searched on the internet but it looks like everyone leaves elders lifespan as it is (living up to 30 days), so I can't really find a tutorial. Can someone please tell me how to do it?
Thank you in advance!!

You have to edit the actual code that uses the constants for that.

Yes, I know... but there are several sections:
- Elder min
- Elder max
then a few about "aspiration" (but I don't think those are the ones I should edit)
- Gold Elder bonus
- Silver Elder bonus
- Bronze Elder bonus
- Normal Elder bonus
- Bad Elder bonus

What I want is to have my elders to live from min 10 days to max 20 days.

Just do the easier thing and use the lifespan mod builder by Lazyduchess!

https://stuff.lazyduchess.online/lifespanmodbuilder

Aspiration bonuses add a set amount of days to your elders lifespan based on the level of their aspiration meter when they age up. If you want your elders to ONLY live min 10 to max 20 days - set all the aspiration bonus stuff to 0

** If you do happen to use this mod, make sure to remove Inges ijagecons!!

Ah, I wasn't sure if TwoJeffs had added those constants or not in his mod. I guess if they are vanilla you can probably just edit the constants and put whatever you want there to make the totals worth out the way you want them to.

Wow! This looks so much easier! If I do it like you said, will my elders randomly live min 10 to max 20 days no matter the aspiration level or will the aspiration be considered in the calculation?
I want the "base" age to always be 10 and then the bonus days to be added based on the aspiration level.

Sorry if I'm bothering you >.<

If you want aspiration levels to add bonus days, you have to edit the constants for that to whatever you want the bonus days to be. If you follow the other person's instructions it will just be random.

Ok so I should make the max days 10, just like the min? And to that, edit the bonus the way I want them to be, so that it adds up to 20?
Cause the way it is right now (min 10, max 20 + bonus) = max 30. I can't think of any other way...

To simplify this down :

Elders
Min: 10
Max: 10

And edit the bonuses the way you want them to be

I know this is a rehash of what you said - but all in all, I agree with your method.

Yes, the default is for the max to work out to 30, if you want it to be different you have to edit the numbers. What you said will work if you keep the max bonus at 10.
