Oh, my GOD! They had sims 1 superstar, but not sims 2 get famous? Weird. I hate having to play pretend with that goddamn beauty genie wish (iykyk) They could have included a washed version of celebs in Nightlife or Apt Life! And...why is there no mod for it? But tbh I'm not here to complain abt the modding community because they work miracles for us

I used to wish for Laundry
All the laundry mods were kinda finnicky...until queen Lamare stepped onto the scene and gave us the fabulous Laundry mod

Apartment life couldve added the feature of high rise apartments - definietly.

I really miss Sims Superstar, it was my favourite expansion . The oxygen bar was one of my favourite items in sims 1 because I found it so funny how a bit of clean oxygen could sort of solve all their problems - I was still getting adjusted to life in a bigger city after growing up in the countryside when the Superstar expansion came out, so I guess I could relate... And I was rubbish at making my sims famous, but loved trying. I suppose there are ways to "pretend" as you say about the genie wish, but it doesn't feel the same to me either.

It's ironic, the Pleasants were actually stars on TV in TS2, but there's no way to canonically play them as super stars the same way one could in TS1, which did not feature any in-game characters on the TVs. They should have included the ability to be a super star in the reputation system IMO.

Also, since Drew Carey appeared in TS1 as a Sim, and IRL Drew is known to be a fan of the game, they should have had a Sim version of The Price is Right with him on it playing on SBN.

Basically, I want any content or features present in the console versions to be made available in the PC version. Any EP or SP that could do that would be awesome!

You did & we love it! Though I must say that camera movement gets more restrictive as you reach higher floors - which is obv Maxis' fault

I wish pets got expanded on. Like more social interactions, horses, more fur accessories (I hope someone makes brand new fur accessories, since kittenwood found a way to add new ones), ect. New expansion pack, I'm not sure. Farming would be great, but it kinda exists in seasons. Maybe a pack on the major fairytales? Not sure exactly how it would work, but it sounds like a fun idea.

I agree with everything except the fur accessories lol. Don't really want to associate pets with being made into fur.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about it, and while I don't know if there would've been full-on expansion packs, some mini ones like Mansion and Garden would've been nice, such as ones that included:
1. Carnivals, Festivals, and Amusement Parks (Llamaworld, anyone?)
2. An add-on of new Vacation destinations (maybe some South American, African, and Australian-themed locations?)
3. Definitely needed more pet and pet-themed things (how did they forget that both cats and dogs will crawl into peoples' laps? HOW?!)
4. Personally, it would've been nice for there to be more development for the various "hobbies" introduced in Freetime, such as getting to go to stadiums and theaters, being able to own/run those venues (with OFB installed), and getting to put on productions*
*Perhaps that could've been split into a new exp, "Sims 2: Rising Stars" or some-such (I do agree, btw: they should've gone for that, given how our sims gained an Influence meter)
(not to mention how disappointed I was when those studying Ballet/Dance CAN'T POINT THEIR TOES!!!! This is a big pet peeve of mine to do with Freetime, it'd have been a nice thing to fix in a patch)

I realize there have been many talented modders to fill in the gaps, but it would've been nice to get some goodness, such as the Future exp content that came with 3, that didn't have to be converted for us to enjoy it.

Fur accessories is that thing in create a pet that adds like the shaggy fur tail, eyebrows, and stuff. Kitteninthewindow made some very old angel wings and alien antennas as new fur accessories as they originally overwritten pre-existing ones.

I'd definitely like more birocracy in my Sims games. The way Sims 3 (and Sims 4?) Sims enroll to college is amazing. I might have a problem.

That could describe the process of enrolling in college, yes. Matriculation is usually the term used, though.

Superstar for sure!! There are some mods that try their best to replicate fame and other careers but none really live up to Superstar imo. I'd also love to see celeb NPCs in the sims 2 as well. The same with Late Night too, I think it would've been cool to be able to go out and meet celebrities/become a celebrity. I also loved the addition of nightclub bouncers, I think that would've been super fun.

Also I know you can technically have penthouses and skyscrapers in TS2 with cheats and stuff and some of them look really good but it was sooooo fun to throw rooftop parties in TS3

Another feature I would've loved to see in TS2 is the ability to go into hospitals and schools. I would love for my sim to be able to have a baby in the hospital (though I did hate that weird machine from TS4) or to be able to go to school with my sims and interact with teachers friends and boyfriends and stuff instead of randomly just bringing someone home sometimes which is kind of annoying lol . Not sure if there are any mods for these things actually, I'll have to mooch around

Chris Hatch has a modpack for making a functional hospital. There's a cleaned-up version of the mod here: https://didilysims.tumblr.com/post/181584469386 (I think CH's version is still available, from the Simfileshare link). The mod is quite involved, so make sure you read through the instructions, and backup your game first. The mod adds NPCs, so you can't just remove the files after you've started using the mod, as this can cause issues in the neighborhoods.

No idea about working jet skis, though there are deco ones available.

The water vehicles in TS3 and TS4 don't seem all that impressive to me, though. Most of them are one simple animation/pose throughout. Nice they're there, but they could've done more. I've especially never liked how sims disappear/appear into vehicles (TS2 has fully animated vehicle interactions, and the game is older!!!).

I do wish TS2 had a better system for travelling than the NPC way, though... And always wanted them to actually be able to bring infants and toddlers - strollers, carriers, car seats, etc. - currently only possible through CC + posing and such, which is kinda annoying.

Basically everything that TS had and TS2 never got, but if I had to choose one thing it would be the hole in the ground and all those worlds it lead to. Which is strange because I don't like supernatural stuff in my Sims games and never use it, but the pure charm of The Hole overrules my principles.

A supernatural/magic pack. Making Magic and Supernatural are so fun in TS1 and TS3, so I always wished Sims 2 got a proper magic expansion pack.

Features:

Witches/Warlocks are removed from Apartment Life, and put here, with an expanded repertoire of spells that range from useful to wacky. (Bringing garden gnomes to life, turning pets into humans, rejuvenation, things like that)
Magic Town subhood with useful community lots, residential lots, magical plants and trees (including some that can be planted and grown) and it's own lighting effect (like the House of Fallen Trees Has), to bathe everything in a magical glow.
Sims can perform various magic acts on community lots for money (from card tricks to disappearing acts and the summoning of ghosts)
Magical build/buy themes: Good Witch (Elf-like mixture of medieval and Art- Nuveau), Haunted Mansion (Objects that appear old and cursed, such as paintings that change when night falls)
Return of Bonehilda!
Lots of magic and magician inspired outfits.
A summonable version of the Grim Reaper (so not the NPC you shouldn't touch) you can interact with, befriend, and romance (finally making it possible for Nervous to be born in game without touching cheats)
Alchemical Lab Table with magic potions.
A couple magical careers.
And, since it's a "dream" expansion pack: new features (powers, aging but at a slower pace, more design options) that make Sims 2's version of Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies, and Plantsims more fun.
