Default What makes certain CAS item invisible and how can I do the same with cc?
I was just wondering, how is it possible that some CAS items (e.g. alien clothing and mermaid tails) are hidden by default and only become visible after using the unlockoutfits cheat code? Is it possible to do the same with cc? I'm hoping it's just a tag that I can toggle on and off in s3pe, so I can use it on the mermaid tails and tops I've downloaded, because they're always visible and kinda cluttering my CAS.

It's magic! Kidding. Yes, you can change the flags in s3pe, however, I have never changed flags for the purpose you propose, so I don't know if THAT part will work as you hope.

In s3pe, open package. Select CASP. Click GRID at the bottom. Scroll to, and open Clothing Category. Scroll down, and double click where it says false, or true, to change to what you want it to be. You'll also see the other flags for revealing, etc.

You can change flags in TSRW. For defaults, I use s3oc, uncheck the renumber box and make a package. From there, open the package in s3pe, do as mentioned above, delete everything except the CASP, and save. Drop the package in Packages folder. If it doesn't override, move it to Overrides folder.

Just a note that while IsHiddenInCAS does what it says on the tin, it's not actually related to the unlockoutfits cheat. Anything that you hide with this flag will be hidden permanently and won't be revealed by the cheat- the closest you can get is to put the hider in your Overrides and remove it whenever you want to access those items again.

EA's unlockable outfits are both hidden and scripted to unlock.

Cardinal has been taken by a fey mood!

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I appreciate it!

Ok, quick update to this. I actually tried it and it worked! I tagged my mermaid cc with the IsHiddenInCAS tag and now the items only appear when I use the unlockoutfits on cheat. Not sure of it only works for some of my items -- I have a lot of cc so something could potentially remain permanently hidden without me realizing it but I haven't noticed anything like that so far. If anyone is reading this and is thinking of doing the same, I'd say go for it. First however, make sure to test it with one or two items only and if it works, you may apply this tag to all of the cc you want to hide -- just make sure to back it up first and maybe do it in batches so you can be certain everything works as intended :P

One last thing, this works with body hair as well, not just clothing (I specifically tested it with some of my body hair cc as a joke lol) and it probably works with hairstyles too. However, I'm not sure if the IsHiddenInCAS flag makes the tagged items invalid for random (you never see the EA mermaid tails on randomly generated sims) but it would probably be safer to also edit the ValidForRandom tag just to be sure.
