Default Trying to make family photos with the tutorial by starwinxie, but they all turn up black
I don't know if this is the correct category, but I think it counts as mods.

I followed the family photo YouTube tutorial on making good quality family photos by Starwinxie but it doesn't seem to be working.

I used the method with the art career reward camera, but all the photos turn up black. I followed the tutorial perfectly but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Forgot to add photos

This tutorial, right?

Make sure you're renaming the photos exactly the way as described, with a capital S and as a BMP file.

There could be issues with the format if you're using another image editing program than Photoshop, so if you are, that's useful to know.

Also, if you take pictures witht he camera normally, without swapping them out with an edited version, do they still appear black?

I named it Snapshot.bmp exactly and all I used was the print screen function on windows 11 to crop the screenshot. I tried using gimp but it doesn't allow me to change it to bmp. Should I use a different program other than just the print screen.

The pictures when taking normally without swapping them out turned out completely fine.

Then something is going wrong with the saving or replacing.
I don't think it's enough to just rename the screenshot to BMP.

In Gimp you have to do "Export as" to save as another format/rename as BMP. "Save as" is for the Gimp format.

I'm aware. I made sure it was bmp. And I know how to export as, it just doesn't allow bmp.

Does it give you some error if you try to save it as .bmp?

Gimp always allowed for the bmp format! What version of Gimp are you using?
