Default Changing the lightning type of lamp posts in the world itself
Been wanting to do this in some worlds, but there's one specific type of lamp post that is placed on the world (not in any specific lot, the general world itself) that isn't able to be changed by shift + left click. OTHER types of lamp posts can do it, just not the generic lamp post one. These also can't even be deleted or substituted with the in-game edit world function so I can switch them off with a type of lamp post that actually lets me edit their lightning type. Any ideas of what can I do?

Probably @simsample could help, because I’ve noticed that in the world of Jericho, a modification has been made to a specific type of streetlight.

Ooh, thanks for the tag @vesko_sims3 I've been racking my brains to remember how I did this!

So from what I remember, there were two versions of the wooden post streetlights in-game, and I used SuperCAW to access the ones that are ordinarily available in lot buy mode to place them in the world. Then, you can go into Edit-in-game mode to enter a lot, and ctrl-shift-click (I think?) to change the colour of the light just as you would any other lamp on a lot.

Bear in mind that this was a long time ago, I may be remembering incorrectly what I did and of course- Jericho was made using an old game version, so all this might have changed with the later EPs and patches. But maybe it will give you an idea of where to start? Basically, try to place a buy mode lamp in the world.

Hmmm...Interesting! I will try it myself on the world I'm currently editing...and I will text back on this thread. Thank you!

This morning, I decided to test the script for the lights... and it worked.

As I entered EIG mode, then Edit Town, edit a random lot, I pressed Ctrl + Shift + Left Click (as when editing the lights in buy me in-game) on nearest lamp post, and the script actually worked. However, when I turned it off, the lamp post itself became dark, but the light around it was still there. I also changed the light to green, but the lamp post itself turned green.

I have the latest version of CAW (base version), game patch 1.67

Edit 1: After saving the world in EIG both the light and the lamp post became green in CAW, but in EIG the post still stays green, while the light stays white. Maybe after exporting the world, things will be fixed.

Edit 2: No comment on the shaders! Look at the trees...they stay dark even if there is a light near them.

Thanks @simsample!
