I'm turning Twinbrook into Swans Crossing (based off the 90's tv show), and the main theme of the world is Swans of course. Swans are everywhere in the show (including swan house phones, sports team mascot, "swan crossing" road caution signs, etc... very campy)

After working on my world for the last month, I wanted to place a swan in a pond as a test to see how nice it would look 🥰, only to realize there...are...no...SWANS...in the game. At all. 0.
This is something I never really paid attention to in the past, but now that I'm creating a world based on this majestic large bird, I could've fainted when I figured this out. I don't know why I just automatically assumed we had VFX swans, but I FOR SURE just knew we had to have the ducks right? We have rubber ducks, we absolutely have to have their living brethren, I mean it only makes sense. Pigeons and ducks are the most obvious birds to start with, imo. As a unhappy camper, I decided I didn't mind settling for ducks instead of Swans.
But of course, to simply laugh at my pain, I made a second realization there are no ducks either??!🤦‍♀️🥺

Then it gets better, because the best part has to be when I found the CAW spawner catalogue and saw that we have GEESE!?? The most obnoxious and aggressive (imo), pond birds you can think of! But no swans, let alone a duck??? And even if I did want these dirty little scavengers in my park, they only fly! Mind. Blown. and totally disappointed.

*Vent over*

So I found some pretty awesome deco swans + ducks on TSR, and even though I am pretty p!ss3d about the lack of wild birds in-game, I'm extremely grateful for these. I'd much rather have them for the aesthetic than nothing at all!

Sidenote: I saw someone's world featuring swan paddle boats? Are these in the game already or cc?
I haven't played in a long time, but I'll add as much swan-related content to my world as I can find

I'd be interested in those swans from TSR tbh :P

The base game overhead birds and the pigeons from Late Night were the extent of EA's trials with ambient creatures. It's not something I notice when playing but it's definitely curious to think about why there aren't more.

I figure there's enough going on with the open world already that you don't need as many fake details to make it look alive, as opposed to TS4 where the backdrops and unusable space have to at least be visually interesting - though TS4 didn't get pond ambience until Cottage Living either.

The paddle swan is vanilla, from Island Paradise.

Another would be a spawner that has rats running around dumpsters. )))
