Generating townies using Castaway Stories custom content in Legacy Edition ? (+ questions about Castaway-ing the LC)
Hello. Sorry if this is really weird, or very niche. (Also, apologies, I'm not a native speaker. Hopefully, this post is in the right category-)

I basically have both Ultimate Collection and Legacy Collection (Steam) installed on my PC. I use them for different purposes.
UC is for when I want a regular Sims game experience.
LC is (well, it's a WIP) for when I want a Castaway Stories look-alike experience, with all the TS2 game mechanics. (To be fair, this is going to be my first time seriously using LC at all)

I naturally have a lot of questions, on how to get LC as close as possible to an enhanced CS experience. But this is one of the biggest ones: in my previous playthroughs (back when I used AnyGameStarter to achieve that result), I would get townies spawning with the regular, vanilla TS2 outfits. So far, it's expected. My question is, is it possible to de-townify all the original outfits and, instead, townify the CS content instead ? That way, when townie generate (from, I assume, a completely empty N001 neighborhood ? I'm still unexperienced in that regard), they would spawn with the "correct" clothes for the situation.

I'm willing to learn (the closest experience to modding I have is making a 16 multi-PT mod, and a few French translations). Of course, if a mod exists already for this somewhere, I won't complain, but I haven't found any so far.

Then, I have other questions, but less """urgent""" and unrelated to the de-townify issue at hand. (But if anyone has an answer for one or several of these, this would help immensely, as I don't really know where to ask for my CS-look-alike niche experience)

- Is there a way to export community lots from (amazing) modded neighborhoods such as this one and this one ? I would like having them in my lot catalog and have them available as many times as I need for custom neighborhoods, as vanilla lots in the TS2 catalog. I'm not really good at building, even less so when it comes to lots that follow a certain type of non-suburban architecture. (This would obviously be for my personal use, and nothing would be re-published online without the original creators' permissions).

- Is it possible to install the "separate for all" clothes mod for the Steam version of LC ? It's not an issue if not, but it's a preference. (There aren't a lot of CS clothes, so if I can get some variety, this would be amazing)

- I'm guessing most of the issues of the LC have been fixed since its release, but is there anything I should know about ? Hopefully that's not too much of a redundant question, and I'm sorry if it is.

- I haven't found any CS custom career mod for the original TS2, but I've heard making custom careers is easy in SimPE. I would just want to make sure my research is right, before I get to make my own. If I do, how can I "disable" the original, vanilla careers ? (Or, at least, stop them from appearing and getting assigned to generated townies ?)

- Any suggestions to expand the build/buy catalog for a Castaway setting ? (There aren't a lot of vanilla CS objects, which makes sense naturally, but houses tend to get really repetitive in one neighborhood without additional content)

I don't know if this is allowed, but I can also give my Discord if anyone is kind enough to help me in my objective. I don't know if there would be anything I could give in return, but I would certainly try.

Thank you so, so much and, again, really sorry for these weird questions/requests. I hope you'll all have a very good day.

You can hide regular clothes (there are available hiders for most clothes, so no need to make them), and townify whichever clothing you want. The Wardrobe Wrangler and a couple other tools can help you easily townify clothing items with just a few button clicks.

Another option is to use default replacements (not sure if there are any useful ones spesific to a CS hood - most people tend to DR the "weird" outfits into something else, but you can have a look)

(You can mix and match sets if one doesn't have all the items, but only use one hider per item).

Have you had a look around Sun&moon's project, or the Medieval sites? Might not sound like it fits, but you can find some Castaway-adjacent stuff in there (anything from distressed-looking furniture to a full compilation of gardening and hunting addons).

https://sunmoon-starfactory.tumblr.com/ (fair warning, though - most of the set is repo'd and dependent of various files in itself, so it's a large beast)

Easiest way is to install the hood, pack up the lot you want, then install the lot. Should be available in your lot bin from then on. After this you can delete the hood.
There are a few other ways too, but those involve SimPE and a bit of digging in the files.

If you for some reason can't install the whole hood, you can temporarily "install" the lots via the lot bin (as long as they don't have CC) via the method below, and then remove them again when you have the lots you want (if there are multiple lots and you just want one or two, it's best to check through them with SimPE to find the ones you want, otherwise the lot bin ingame is going to be a big mess)
https://thesims2.livejournal.com/6049797.html

Assuming the hood has been made in a relatively clean way and the lots haven't been lived in/are empty, this would work for the residential lots too, but just to be sure you may want to clean them before using.

(Easiest way is with the "Lot Cleaner Globe" provided at the bottom of that post)
Lots that have had sims living in them do need cleaning - don't install lots with sims in them, it's just going to create a lot of mess.
