Default Can I convert a bracelet so that it's worn on the opposite hand?
Is it possible to convert a bracelet, so that it's worn on the opposite hand? I have a lot of bracelets that are only worn on one side but I don't like being tied to only one, either the right or the left. So, I thought I could try converting them. Would anyone know what I need to do? Hopefully, It's not too complicated XD

Yes, it can be done. It requires knowing how to use Blender and other common modding tools.

Would you say that it's way more complicated than the default to non-default conversion you suggested on my other post? Honestly, I'd be willing to attempt try it.

It all depends on how well you know the tools. TSRW or s3oc, as @Cardinalsims would use. Blender, MTK and s3pe. Probably takes about 1/2 hour if you know the tools well. An hour or so if not... maybe a little more.

I'll pop in tomorrow with pics and quick tutorial.

Make a clone package in TSRW. I used an EP6 bracelet. You will clone whatever bracelet CC package you want to mirror. You can use an EA as base, and either will renumber everything and create a totally new bracelet package.

At top, Edit> Project Contents> Export> To Package. Open package of bracelet you want to make as opposite (if it is custom CC, or open the package you just made). Select 1st geom (will highlight in blue). At top, Resource> Export> To file. Drop it in your work folder and repeat for L2 and L3. Open MTK. Auto tools for GEOM> Mesh Mirror. Uncheck the box for adding to existing mesh.

NOTE: Temporarily check that box, then click "Hint". This can be your basic reference for vertices counts. I use it a lot!

Uncheck the box again. Import L1 geom. (If not labeled in the package, L1 will be the biggest, L2 middle size and L3 smallest.

NOTE: MTK, Package Tools... You can import a package and name it. This will create names for most of the files, most importantly, LOD's.

OK, so MTK has mirrored the mesh and reassigned the correct bones. Unfortunately, it reversed the UV. Import the original bracelet to Blender. Click edit mode and deselect all, then back to object mode. Import the reversed bracelet. I have a lot of base and reference parts in all LOD's, so I imported af bra, but not necessary. Click original bracelet, hold "Shift" and select the right bracelet. Edit Mode. You see both UV's, with your new bracelet selected but reversed.

In UV Edit side, click UV at top> scroll down to 2nd option, Mirror, then to X Axis and click that.

The UV is slightly out of alignment. Zoom in to one set of vertices. On the keyboard, press G then X. This allows you to move the UV only on the X axis. Just slowly move it to align.

Note that we never merged vertices. You can simply export the mesh without bothering to split seams and sharps, and recalculate. In Object mode, select your bracelet and Export GEOM. You need to do these steps for each LOD!

NOTE: Not necessary, but you could join the bracelets and export together, but using Nraas MC, multiple accessories per location allows you to do that as an in game option.

All that's left, is MTK, Conversion Tools> GEOM to TSRW WSO. Import your bracelet and click Convert to TSRW. Open your TSRW work, if you closed it. On the right, click Mesh tab, then down arrow and select High level of detail (LOD 1). Import your .wso! Make your package and export.

Open the package in s3pe. At top, Resource> Select All. Then Resource> Compressed. Save your package and put in game!

There are other ways to do this, of course, but this is how I generally do things like this.

Wow, thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll get to it when I get the chance. Hopefully, I'll do it without too much trouble. By the way, will I need any Sims 3 specific tools / addons for Blender?
