Testers wanted: SimTracker2.0 (beta) A Tool for The Sims 2
Hello fellow simmers!
SimTracker2.0 is gradually evolving from a framework of tables and forms into a fully featured tool for managing The Sims 2. As more features are added, testing becomes increasingly important to ensure everything works correctly on different systems and setups.
For those unfamiliar with the project, SimTracker2.0 is a standalone database tool for The Sims 2 that helps players manage and track their neighbourhoods, sims, families, businesses, education, custom careers, and much more. It is specifically designed to be expandable, allowing support for custom content and integration with many of the great mods still being created for The Sims 2 today.
Although SimTracker2.0 is built in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office is not required to use it.
Because database tools can be unfamiliar to some players, getting started is explained through guides and tutorial videos, making it accessible to anyone willing to give it a try.
I made a playlist on youtube to have a complete video guide (though I'm still recording and uploading):

One area that is particularly important to test is data migration between versions. While it has worked smoothly in my own testing, I'd like to see how it performs in real-world situations with different users and databases. Both existing users and people who are completely new to SimTracker2.0 are welcome.
Testing can be as simple as exploring the different features and clicking through the various modules. However, feedback from players who actively use SimTracker2.0 while playing The Sims 2 and maintaining their neighbourhood data is especially valuable.
I'm especially interested in reports of:
* Data migration issues
* Import or export problems
* Unclear tutorials or documentation
* Bugs and error messages
* General usability issues
* Suggestions for improvement
(Whether it's good or bad feedback)
The download is quite large, and the PDF guides can’t be uploaded here, so I’ve placed everything in a SimFileShare folder:
http://simfileshare.net/folder/257995/
If this is not allowed by MTS guidelines, I’m happy to adjust it. I just wasn’t sure of the best alternative in this case.
Note: The current download is SimTracker 2.0 pre-beta v5. Pre-beta v6 will follow next week after a few final tweaks. Since data migration is an important part of testing, it would be really helpful if users start with v5 and then migrate to v6 when it releases and test the new features.
Thank you for your time.
Happy simming/testing!
