This is a mod for The Sims Castaway Stories only.

This mod unlocks the hidden Go Somewhere interaction that makes you select the community lot you'd like to travel to from neighborhood view, instead of from the island map.

In a vanilla game, Sims can travel to community lots by either using the island map or by direct travel via portals. This mod simply unlocks the hidden Travel interaction that was previously only accessible by the allmenus cheat (a huge find by Sarah Blanca, thank you so much!). Sims will now be able to travel to community lots by selecting them from the neighborhood view, much like in the original The Sims 2.



To have the Sim go to a community lot, click on any portal and select Go Somewhere. If applicable, a dialog box will pop up asking whether they should bring the household along or not. Once you make your choice, the game will start loading the neighborhood view. Navigate to the community lot you'd like to travel to and double-click it (or single-click it to read its description).



Please note that this mod doesn't enable travel to residential lots.

This interaction also enables travel to community lots other than the ones shipped with the game. To get more community lots, either convert existing residential lots to community using SimPE (easy), or add new lots (hard). To travel there, simply click "Go Somewhere" on a portal and select your new community lot from neighborhood view. Note: if you're building new community lots, don't forget to place down at least one portal and one spawn point object, otherwise the lot won't load.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Extract the zip archive and place its contents (topp_cs_portalsplus.package) to [Documents]\Electronic Arts\The Sims™ Castaway Stories\Downloads.

KNOWN ISSUES:
- The cursor for selecting a community lot from neighborhood view depicts a taxi car, which does not fit in with the rest of the tiki theme. This is purely cosmetic. In case you'd like to change the cursor icon to a walk-here cursor, go to game files, TSData\Res\UI\Cursors, delete the taxi_8.cur, make a copy of walkhere_8.cur and rename it to taxi_8.cur.
- The Return Home interaction on portals seems to be broken sometimes. Sims would walk up to the portal but drop the interaction from their queue instead of actually leaving home. Luckily, if a similar thing happens to you, Sims can still get home by opening up the island map from the UI.
