Disappointed.

I have just asked a question in the tech support forum and I must say that I am really disappointed to get a canned answer. I'm really frustrated that asking for help on the support forum is no better than calling any tech support number, I get a canned answer that someone is reading from a flip binder (or in this case, cut and paste from the FAQ)

I read the FAQ and followed all recommendations. I asked at other places before coming here. I did research online about my problem. I tried to be consise and include enough detail in my post so as others could understand the problem I was having. I did lots of work to ensure I wasn't being redundant. I feel like I should not have even bothered, because the answer was such that I cannot beleive that the poster thoroughly read my post.
I am angry anf feel like I have been talked down to like a child who cannot follow directions. I know that it is probably just me, but I can see others maybe feeling the same way after getting an answer like I did.

I havent posted on this site for a long time, though I have been around for quite a long while. Now I remember why. Not everyone who posts here who isn't a mod or "Famous" is an idiot. I certainly am not and don't like being made to feel like one.

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed - of course, you may have noticed that not all posters research before asking and perhaps our mods are no longer as willing to give the benefit of the doubt after all these years of questions. I see that you did get an answer you were happy with in the end. I have had similar experiences - I guess it took me a while to work out that not all the mods know me personally and so do not know the kind of person I am.
