Thanks, Sleepyrose. Lia came up with a really interesting plot. And I don't have WA but I'd love to see what you'd do with the signs you're referring to. Lilith's private collection would be great.

We actually didn't have the same version of Lilith story. In mine, her husband never set foot in Porto Corrado. She left him when she was pregnant with her first daughter, without any explanation, and he never found her The version we discussed thoroughly in the inhabitant thread (post#88) and - at least I thought - finally agreed on

OOPS!

Lol...I'm sorry. I'll have to rewrite that part then. Here you go:

HISTORY (The version without Lilith's husband accompanying her)

Many years after the first Spanish settlers had reached the shore, a flame-haired woman set foot on the land in search of a new beginning. Locals were intrigued by her presence and soon came to see her as an outsider ("forastera") even after failed attempts on her part to fit in. Only one man out of the many had bothered to befriend her and it was then that she realized that what truly set her apart wasn't her appearance, but something that went deeper than that. Something in her had awakened and she knew that even before the birth of her first child, she would be to the one to unleash hell on earth.

By the time the town had caught up to her dark secret, she had fallen into the arms of her only male friend. Even when others were accusing her of inflicting illnesses on them, he had come to her rescue and refused to end their clandestine affair. They saw her as a witch but in his eyes, she was a goddess ("diosa").

Sadly, love wasn't enough to save her life and she was burnt at the stake three nights after the birth of their illegitimate daughter who was among the few survivors of the mysterious disease. It then became a common belief that those who opened their hearts would prosper, and those that refused to show kindness and love were bound to suffer.

lanawinst 4th Mar 2010 6:59 PM

Thanks for correcting and as I said before great job on the story

CharmingFirewaller 4th Mar 2010 7:28 PM

Thanks, Lana! Feel free to add it to the first page of the thread so builders can refer to it. Where's Lia anyway? She deserves the credit for the ideas...lol

lanawinst 4th Mar 2010 7:31 PM

You're right, congrats to both of you for giving us a great background

litt0_lia 7th Mar 2010 7:37 PM

Wow, I just read it. The story is REALLY good, but on another note, perhaps we should mention that she was engaged? So the readers will be able to understand the affair aspect.

And sorry Charming! I've been away for a while because of school. I've been working on essay writing and prepping for high school. Darn, I hate essays. I'm going to be working on bio's pretty soon, so I'll be the inhabitants thread. (=

kiwi_tea 8th Mar 2010 12:15 AM

Hmmm, a bit of an odd request, but could we include a themed clown in the graveyard, a la Tragic Clown? I've sort of taken to adding one to the graveyard in each world I work on. For example, there's Sinister Clown in Niua Simoa, and there's Cassanova Clown in a world I'm about to release. If I'm having a hand in this, it'd be pretty cool to include another clown, if other collaborators are cool with the idea. Ideas for a theme would be welcome if it's okay.

lanawinst 8th Mar 2010 3:47 AM

That sounds like a fun idea. If that doesn't imply too much additional cc, I'm definitely ok for that.

SimGirlTasia232 8th Mar 2010 3:52 AM

The clown sounds like it will be fun... I always had a thing for dead clowns lol i rather them dead and look at them then alive and run away from them

Deluxe Designs 8th Mar 2010 8:37 AM

Haha sounds like a fun idea kiwi i think tragic clown would be a bad idea as the tragic clown group has just been set up here at MTS and we don't want to look like we're copying, but any other type of dead clown is cool

lanawinst 8th Mar 2010 9:06 AM

I would have said let's have a twisted crazy clown but the idea of having this wandering ghost might be too frightening for tasia :p

kiwi_tea 8th Mar 2010 9:15 AM

Well, seeing as we're talking fearful, I'm going to make 'Cowardly Clown'. He'll constantly faint at the sight of the other ghosts, it'll be brilliant. All good?

lanawinst 8th Mar 2010 9:15 AM

kiwi-tea, I love that idea

SimGirlTasia232 8th Mar 2010 2:20 PM

Kiwi: that sounds more like a clown i would like a nice cowardly clown

Lana: I just pictured a twisted crazy clown terrorizing my sims lol i think they would be scared of him too.. except this one girl she seems to love the dead for strange reasons and that's Talula lol from the time i put her in my hood she has been around ghosts and the cemetery her entire life well until she became one

sleepyrose 9th Mar 2010 11:09 AM

Kiwi tea, that's such a funny idea! I love it.

CharmingFirewaller 10th Mar 2010 12:29 AM

Thanks, Lia. I've edited it and mentioned Lilith being engaged. I know essays can be tough but I'm sure you'll do a wonderful job. Your high school years are gonna be great. I miss mine already...lol

A tragic clown would be kinda cool, Kiwi. What about Wrenna's sister? She's one of Talula's ancestors and hydrophobia runs in the family as a result of members dying in mysterious way (usually involving the sea). How about a Hydrophobic Clown? Lol.

HISTORY (Version 3 with Lilith engaged)

Many years after the first Spanish settlers had reached the shore, a flame-haired woman who had run away from her estranged fiance set foot on the land in search of a new beginning. Locals were intrigued by her presence and soon came to see her as an outsider ("forastera") even after failed attempts on her part to fit in. Only one man out of the many had bothered to befriend her and it was then that she realized that what truly set her apart wasn't her appearance, but something that went deeper than that. Deluxe Designs 10th Mar 2010 9:36 PM

So is our NH going to be called Porto Corrado? I don't think there was a decision, we kinda just moved off the subject, lana, you're team leader, is that our final name or are we still looking? also i'm trying to think of good names right now for our group! :P

lanawinst 10th Mar 2010 9:42 PM

I'm ok with Porto Corrado and I think that the majority was ok with it. Alright, let's say that if nobody disagree until Saturday it's going to be our name. And if someone disagree, we should have some kind of poll. That works for everyone?

I hope you'll come up with some nice group names, I really am uninspired right now

Deluxe Designs 10th Mar 2010 9:47 PM

Haha, well thesaurus is my friend i came up with:
World Pioneers
CAW Engineers
Landscape Architects

lanawinst 10th Mar 2010 9:51 PM

World Pioneers is fun but we are hardly pioneers so... Landscape architects seems a little misguiding too, We don't create houses but a world. We're gods

CAW engineers, why not, but maybe we can find something better?

Deluxe Designs 10th Mar 2010 10:02 PM

Yeh, they are all pretty bad ideas i am so stuck for a name! maybe we could have something not relating to worlds at all, but something quircky and different!

kiwi_tea 10th Mar 2010 10:23 PM

How about Tectonic Sims? We work from the shaky plates upwards.

Deluxe Designs 10th Mar 2010 10:41 PM

haha i like it! :D

lanawinst 10th Mar 2010 10:45 PM

That's innovative :P

sleepyrose 11th Mar 2010 4:16 PM

I love Porto Corrado as the name for our world and Tectonic Sims is a very cool group name! :D

Deluxe Designs 11th Mar 2010 5:21 PM

I'll try making an avatar for our group, unless someone is graphic savvy, because i'm certainly not XD

lanawinst 11th Mar 2010 7:09 PM

Well, due to my inborn gift with paint and else, I declare myself automatically disqualified .

CharmingFirewaller 11th Mar 2010 7:57 PM

Now now, there's no need to put yourself down. I personally thought you made a pretty decent world map with paint.

sleepyrose 11th Mar 2010 9:31 PM

If there's no graphic guru among us, then I wouldn't mind making an attempt to create something. I have photoshop and many royalty free designs and graphics.
Coming up with an idea is another thing.

Deluxe Designs 11th Mar 2010 9:29 PM

2 Attachment(s)
Well i am in the middle of making one, you should also make one, or even more, and we can get inspiration from each other! i have a good concept but i don't think i am pulling it off very well XD

EDIT:
Ok i have made to avvies as ideas for the group, the first one is kinda the concept idea, and i like it without any writing, the second is a modified version of it with writing tell me what you guys and gals think.

lanawinst 11th Mar 2010 9:49 PM

How exciting !

DD, I'm seeing nothing right now and what is "avvies"? :p

Edit: seeing it now! Well, nice idea. What about using a map more like the one I used for the CAW group? And can we make the title follow the form of the map, you know what I mean, rounding too?

Deluxe Designs 11th Mar 2010 9:58 PM

Yeh i get what you mean, i don't think my graphics program is capable of doing that, sleeprose will have to investigate also avvies are the profile pictures, their the same thing, just a different name :P

sleepyrose 11th Mar 2010 10:16 PM

It's so difficult when you have such a tiny space to work with. I love to see it with writing, but then it's hard to see the globe. I like that icon though. Using your map would be cool too, Lana. But it would have to be in the current colors. They are so wild, I just love it!

Deluxe Designs 11th Mar 2010 10:24 PM

We can't use the one we're using for our group icon because that is copyright of TS3 and EA, so we would have to make, or use a different globe picture also the default display picture is 100x100

Deluxe Designs 12th Mar 2010 8:21 PM

Ok i tried to do it more like you said lana, but i can't get the text to go around the globe, and i'm not sure there would be enough space :/ anyway, here was an idea:

Deluxe Designs 12th Mar 2010 8:29 PM

Ok everyone, i made our group, i am in the process of getting us all added to the group, ignore the fact it has a profile picture, that is just temporary until we find one we want

http://www.modthesims.info/member/tectonic sims

litt0_lia 12th Mar 2010 11:34 PM

Ooo, maybe I should come up with an avvie? I'm sort of, um technology savvy? Or not, maybe I'll just try and see how it works out. I don't have photoshop, only Gimp so I'll see what I can do.

. _ .

Okay, Edited.

I have accumulated a bunch of pictures as a base, and was wondering if you liked any of them. Since I see DD is going on a globe theme...

My favorite (= Sort of kiddish but I like.

Also like this one, because it's sort of glowy =D

Then this big one

And then, I call it Avatar Planet.

Deluxe Designs 12th Mar 2010 11:46 PM

Anything would probably be an improvement of what i made XD

lanawinst 12th Mar 2010 11:53 PM

That looks great, it's hard to choose :P

sleepyrose 13th Mar 2010 7:14 PM

This is an example I made with text around an image. Colors and material of the words can be pretty much anything you like.

Lia, your globes look so much better than mine! I really like them. :lovestruc

lanawinst 13th Mar 2010 8:38 PM

I like it a lot! We definitely need a mix

litt0_lia 16th Mar 2010 1:09 AM

Okay, Finally here is my version.

sleepyrose 16th Mar 2010 2:33 AM

Lia, I love it!!! :lovestruc

SimGirlTasia232 16th Mar 2010 3:24 AM

Lia- i love it!! a little bight on the eyes is what i like lol

Mel- I like yours to

lanawinst 16th Mar 2010 8:06 PM

Looks good! Could you maybe show us different styles of planets and colors so that we could choose from it?

Deluxe Designs 17th Mar 2010 5:52 PM

Yeh, i am not a big fan of the globe you're using lia :/ and sleepyrose, yours is a bit too dark, needs to be brighter and bubblier, with happier font text too

lanawinst 19th Mar 2010 11:45 PM

Lia, sleepyrose, any progress on it?

kiwi_tea 21st Mar 2010 5:37 PM

What do people think of expanding the depth of the world a bit by putting in a large ancient sewer system underneath the town centre? It could all connect up with divewells, they can go from lot-to-lot. If we keep it all the same theme under town, it could be a very cool feature, and could hide some extra aspects of our storyline too.

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 5:44 PM

How can you do that? Can you explain it a bit more, does it need to have lots of lots underground?

unlikely 21st Mar 2010 6:12 PM

That sounds amaaazing, anything underground is good by me! I think the best would be ancient sewer system linking with secret crypts and galleries, like some of the Paris Catacombs ones - I'm dreaming of an underground 'museum of curiosities', lots of candles all over the place

kiwi_tea 21st Mar 2010 6:26 PM

2 Attachment(s)
Well, not entirely news lots. You just build basements with an ancient tunnel look to them underneath the lots we're already building. Eg:

It allows a lot of scope for people to build basements. If they're classified as tombs they won't bother the people who live above them, and they could hold one or two secrets. They just have dramatic potential, and a lot of european towns have old tunnels and bunkers thanks to sewerage and wars.

Divewells have a feature called 'uber dive wells', which allows you to set them to link to other dive wells on remote lots. There would only need to be one or two entrances, and the rest could simply by underneath other lots, linked with dive wells.

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 6:38 PM

That is such a neat idea, like there could be an entrance in the main 64x64 plaza or something, and then another entrance out of town in the hills! i love this idea!

lanawinst 21st Mar 2010 6:41 PM

Indeed, that sounds like a great idea. The cemetery could have catacombs off course. It could link all the oldest buildings of the town like the castle, ... and one in the hills. An entrance in the plaza? How would you do it exactly? I have a hard time picturing it :P

unlikely 21st Mar 2010 6:48 PM

I think if the plaza has any building, have a door that leads to the basement from there, or have a divewell on the plaza leading to the basement

kiwi_tea 21st Mar 2010 6:53 PM

kiwi_tea suddenly has an idea...

lanawinst 21st Mar 2010 6:54 PM

Promising :P

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 6:54 PM

oooh i am in suspense of this idea!!! in terms of having one in the plaza, there would be a sheltered area hiding a secret stairwell in the ground, and then somewhere else in the plaza would be something to unlock the hidden stairwell so sims could see the stairs and use them

kiwi_tea 21st Mar 2010 7:04 PM

1 Attachment(s)
Town well, anyone? For the centre of the plaza?

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 7:03 PM

Oh cool idea, like a well in the town centre!! you would definitely see plenty of wells and fountains!!

kiwi_tea 21st Mar 2010 7:08 PM

And it would double as a not-so-secret entrance to the sewer system. Alongside any other wells.

lanawinst 21st Mar 2010 7:09 PM

I like it

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 7:34 PM

Ok so if i'm building the abandoned castle, who is doing our big 64x64 plaza, lana?

lanawinst 21st Mar 2010 7:51 PM

Hum... good question. I don't think that charming can handle it right now especially since he's got already the business center to finish, so since I've got no buildings that I'm currently building I don't mind doing it, the girls are already building something but if one of them want/can to do it, that's fine by me

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 10:36 PM

Well you already began doing the previous plaza, and it worked well, so i think you should do it get some resource pics though first to work with so it has the right feel

lanawinst 21st Mar 2010 10:44 PM

Alright. I will It's a huge lot so I'm going to have to plan it ahead carefully to make it look nice and authentic and less symmetrical probably. If you have some shots, feel free to give me a link or something.

Deluxe Designs 21st Mar 2010 10:48 PM

here are some pics:

toyou1214 19th Apr 2010 2:47 AM

Has there been a name created? Because i came up with one, Colline di l'amore fatale, it means Hills of enduring love in Italian, what do you think?

If there is already a name and i missed it, sorry if i wasted anyones time.

Deluxe Designs 19th Apr 2010 6:01 PM

Hrmm, lol i think we did have a name XD but who knows!

toyou1214 19th Apr 2010 11:34 PM

ha. Im not sure either, that name just seemed to go with the story however i have not gone threw the hole thing so i could be totally wrong! haha (:

lanawinst 19th Apr 2010 11:49 PM

Yep, as DD said we already settled on Porto Corrado. But your name was adequate with the Lilith story, that's right

toyou1214 20th Apr 2010 12:07 AM

okay, sounds good! just thought i would check, (:

toyou1214 31st Jul 2010 11:30 PM

Hey, could i get a finished/completed copy of the story? and if there is not one could one PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be written? We gotta get organized people! (:

porkypine 16th Nov 2010 12:36 AM

Hi, correct translations for ruddy port
Portuguese = Porto Corado
Spanish = Puerto Rubio
Italian = porto rubicondo
French = port rousse
Greek = kokkino̱pós limáni
Macedonian = Rudi pristanište

I like Porto Corado. :0)

kiwi_tea 17th Nov 2010 9:36 AM

I'm currently putting together a wiki to keep track of my worlds and their lore. If I get together a good format, it might help us to organise Porto Corado's information there. I'd have to change the Wiki to be less personal, of course. More of a recording space on worlds built for MTS. It's still in VERY early stages: http://pasimficandbeyond.wikia.com/...tea_Worlds_Wiki

Deluxe Designs 18th Nov 2010 5:52 PM

That sounds like a good idea kiwi Let us know if you manage to organise it all!

kiwi_tea 19th Nov 2010 8:58 PM

http://pasimficandbeyond.wikia.com/wiki/Porto_Corrado

I have a page set up for Porto Corrado. I've been organising pages by families, with households listed under their respected lots. Have a look at the 'Vamp' and 'Barracks' pages for examples of this. Anyone on the team should join and fill out information on the lots we have - their names and residents, and I'll start getting what I know about the residents logged as well. I've written up a concise and slight less flowery account of Lilith in the Lore section of this page, let me know if I have any details wrong:

Quote:
Porto Corrado was settled by the Spanish and grew swiftly into a quaint seaside village, centred around fishing and crafts. It suffered occasional droughts which aided in the spread of disease, but otherwise it was a pleasant place to live, although the locals had to work very hard to makes ends meet. Their livelihood came primarily from the sea, especially during heatwaves when fish became the only consistent food source. The village continued like this for many years, eventually establishing itself as a small town.
One day a red-headed woman, perhaps Celtic, arrived in Porto Corado on foot, fleeing an unwanted engagement. It was a hot season, and she seemed to be suffering heatstroke so a local fisherwoman took her in. This was a disaster, as the girl, Lilith, turned out to be carrying a horrible disease that spread among the locals slowly and terribly as she recovered, now immune to the disease. Naturally the blame fell on Lilith, a natural loner, and only one man, the fisherwoman's son, made any attempt to befriend her. Lilith and this man became lovers, and Lilith became pregnant with his child as the townsfolk grew more and more convinced that she was a witch who was causing their illnesses. Soon after her child was born, they burnt Lilith at the stake on the church's doorstep. The disease spread further, killing many. Lilith's daughter, who gained an immunity from her mother in womb, was one of the lucky few who remained uninfected.

Other suggestions? Here are the essential templates:

http://pasimficandbeyond.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Sim

http://pasimficandbeyond.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Lot

PS: People are obviously really busy at the moment. I'll try to keep some momentum up the best I can, seeing as I have some spare time atm.

lanawinst 19th Nov 2010 10:52 PM

That's a nice idea and I love what you did so far. Lilith story works great for me. I'll have some spare time too so if you need some help, I can fill out informations on my lots, and basic informations on the sims and the world.

kiwi_tea 19th Nov 2010 11:01 PM

I'll think it will really help us have solid idea of what's done and what we still need to do. It'll also allow us to democratically edit the flavour texts and stuff. I've worked in editing, so cleaned up some of the sentence structure on some of the descriptions. Just let me know if I do anything people aren't happy with.

toyou1214 20th Nov 2010 2:37 AM

Hey, GREAT JOB! the only problem that i have is i simply do not have time to upload my homes, if somebody would be willing to put them from this page to the other, that would be great! thanks!
