Thanks Lana - I will take 28

I won't use any CC other than those allowed (the freebie sets)

nivaso 7th Aug 2010 9:27 AM

My reaction is a bit late, but I'm glad you like it, I'll upload the lot to place it between the finished buildings .. and start working on the Spa!

toyou1214 7th Aug 2010 10:06 PM

Rose: could you put the lot sizes in the descriptions of the lots please? Nino made a excellent point about that.

sleepyrose 7th Aug 2010 10:12 PM

Yes, I'll do it tomorrow and will also update the map.

candlelight82 8th Aug 2010 12:12 AM

Now I looked at all your buildings, they look great and I agree that my white mansion can't be edited to make it fit in the world.

@lanawinst
- Downsize the uptown doesn't really work, imo. It would still look like dark medieval

So, does anyone have a picture of a castle/palace that can be built on a 50x50 lot? (guess that was the recommended size?)

Craggles 8th Aug 2010 2:37 AM

rose, you have to stand right next to the stairs for the fire to come on, and as soon as you walk away it'll go off again hopefully thatll work!! haha

ninotchka 8th Aug 2010 3:44 AM

Okay, Villa 28 is complete and you find the details here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...286#post3279286

I hope it meets the necessary criteria

toyou1214 8th Aug 2010 6:56 AM

Hey, it looks beautiful! excellent job!

2 things at a glance,

A: next time when your finished please post it here in this thread (the pics) before putting it in the completed thread, then we can look at it and critique.

B: you unfortunately can NOT use ambitions, so that will have to be changed..

I see, well I don't have time to redo this so perhaps just count me out.

nivaso 8th Aug 2010 1:05 PM

Rose, I love your Jazmin Vasquez house, it's adorable. The sun flowers and soft contrast between the wall colors give it a very peaceful and fresh look. Btw, never mind the size for a single girl, just love it!

Ok, here's the Spa. lot size: 20x30

nivaso 8th Aug 2010 1:24 PM

Hi guys, I have a doubt. If we hide the buildings (like police station, spa, etc) below the lots, sims won’t be able to join those careers because they can’t access the buildings, they can only go to visit the special type of lots. Let’s say my sims loves to get a massage and it will raise his/her aspiration level, it will never work. I had a quick look if I could find this in the thread, but couldn’t find it. My qstn, is there a way we can get around this?

toyou1214 8th Aug 2010 5:25 PM

you have to put the building under it, then put a staircase to it.

Tyu.

toyou1214 8th Aug 2010 5:26 PM

Nino: ummm.......okay? did you not read the general info thread? it has all that info.

sleepyrose 8th Aug 2010 6:59 PM

Ninotchka, your house is so beautiful! :lovestruc It would be a shame if we couldn't use it because of the ambitions stuff. From what I can see there's only some furntiture that needs to be replaced. That might not take too much time. But if you don't have the time, would you mind if one of us helps you out, by replacing a couple of thing? We'll use the same textures you used and keep the ambitions version in tact as an alternative download. Just let us know what you would like, because I'm sure everyone would love to see this beautiful house in our world.

Nivaso, the spa is gorgeous! :lovestruc And it looks like so realistic for this world too.
You can put the building in the basement, like Tyu said. Tonight I might do some testing to see how it works when a sim gets a job in one of the rabbit holes.

Candlelight, I'll look up some pictures from Italian and Spanish castles.

lanawinst 8th Aug 2010 7:47 PM

Ninotchka, I agree with what Sleepy said. It's a wonderful house and I'm sure we'll find a way to make it work without counting you out. Tell us what you think of Sleepy proposals and we can find something else if it doesn't work for you.

Nivaso, I fell in love with your spa. Just follow, what toyou said and there would be no problem. hiding buildings underneath, as long as there's an access doesn't make it not usable by the sims.

Candlelight. Actually, lots of Mediterranean villages have medieval buildings, more or less preserved so it wouldn't be that inadequate. Do you know Carcassonne for example (south of France, and yes I know it's a city, not a town )?

But I'll look to see what I can find too

lanawinst 8th Aug 2010 10:03 PM

All right, guys, just a small update. Here is a sneak pic at the school( don't pay attention to the landscaping, it's not done yet), the inside is fully done, i'll show you pics later:

And since you felt that it wasn't warm enough I change a bit the gym but I'm not sure that I like it better that way :

toyou1214 9th Aug 2010 1:16 AM

Lana, LOVE THE GYM (: hah. its really sharp!

And i also really like the school! maybe some windows on the front walls? and a statue where the pots are? so the school has 'art'?

Awee dankjewel for your kind words, Sleepyrose :lovestruc I am glad you like it. I will make the necessary changes if they are that simple, I was worried I would have to uninstall Ambitions etc. (couldn't quite get my head around how to use the AnyGameStarter yet).

Is there a deadline?

reEdit of edit lol: Apologies Nivaso and Lana, your lots are very beautiful and authentic looking, that spa reminds the Roman baths in Bath, England and the cute stadium looks so real with those uber cute bleachers/seat stands. Great work guys! :lovestruc

toyou1214 9th Aug 2010 3:01 AM

haha, no it is not that complicated. (:

Nope, no deadline, but it can't drag out forever, you know?

Tyu.

Yeah duh, but thanks for pointing out the obvious

----

Okay guys, I removed all the Ambitions stuff including plants except for the ceiling textures because they won't show up in a game without Ambitions anyway I guess. Here are the pics. If you guys approve, I will upload the lot to the completed buildings thread.

Cheers

sleepyrose 9th Aug 2010 4:52 PM

Ninotchka, that was fast! And it looks so beautiful. I love it! :lovestruc
Oh, and you speak Dutch too? Wat leuk! (how nice)
btw, I have a very stupid question for you... How did you make the roof at the entrance face downward? I can only get mine to face upwards, lol, and that doesn't look realistic. Sorry for being such a nitwit, but roofing is always a pain for me.

Lana, the school is so cute! It reminds me a bit of the elementary school I went to as a kid. Very lovely and realistic! :lovestruc
The touch of color makes the stadium look very nice too!

toyou1214 9th Aug 2010 5:18 PM

Nino, looks great, told you it would not take long. (:

Rose: for the roof, you just have to try starting the roof in different corners, and it will go different ways, thats what i have found anyways. (:

nivaso 9th Aug 2010 6:26 PM

Nice work Ninotchka, you have such an eye for detail. The garden is amazing and so realistic.
Lana, love the school (especially the stairs and the edges with flowers on them). Beautiful

Rose, were you able to test the rabit holes? I have the idea that if a rabit hole can't be easily accessed, the Sim cancels the option to visit the lot, like it ignores it. So you will have to send it close to the lot and from there can you visit the lot. Unless, this is my experience in the past, or maybe I had just a naughty sim

sleepyrose 9th Aug 2010 7:10 PM

Tyu, thanks! :face palm: omg, you just make the roof go the other way around! Why haven't I ever thought of this???

Nivaso, I'll try to see how it works tonight. It would be very inconvenient if you have to send your sim close to the rabbit holes, because that might cause problems for the townies if they want to autonomously find a job. I'll tell you know what I find out asap.
