The other Queen by Philippa Gregory A song for summer by Eva Ibbotson The morning gift by Eva Ibbotson The clouds beneath the sun by Mackenzie Ford Rainbow days by Josephine Cox & Cradle of Thorns by Josephine Cox. I'm keeping a list of all the books I read this year, just to see how much I do read. |
From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris. :3 I'm rereading all her books before the newest one comes out in May.
Next on my list is Anna Karenina, though. |
The Bridge Across Forever, by Richard Bach.

Finished Chasers by James Phelan (was fantastic, albeit depressing, until the second last sentence; which was the most horrible, book-ruining run on sentence that could ever exist.) and Flash Flood by Chris Ryan early this morning. Now I'm reading City Of Masks by Mary Hoffman. It's actually quite good, for a school-assigned book.

Just finished Chronicle of a Death Foretold, by Gabriel García Márquez. I just picked it up and when it ended it was like a slap in the face. I could read thousands and thousands of pages by him and it still wouldn't be enough.
I always feel that way about Garcia Marquez's prose, minus. It's so lush and dense. I could just wrap myself up in it like a coat.
I'm reading Bright Lights, Big City, by Jay McInerney and Moon Crossing Bridge, by Tess Gallagher. |
I just finished Alex Sanchez's Boyfriends With Girlfriends. It's really, really reeeeaaallly good. Especially if you're into gay teen fiction novels.

Molly Moon stops time by Georgia Byng, The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel and The Historian by Elisabeth Kostova.

I just started Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell. I'm only on Chapter 4 though. I need to buy it. I don't want any late fees from the library. I go back to school in like three weeks so I probably won't finish it before then.
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. It was all over goodreads so I decided to give it a shot. Quite a funny book, it has earned me a couple of strange looks already.
The Body of Christopher Creed by Carol Plum-Ucci.
I.hate.this.book! |
Log of the S.S. the Mrs. Unguentine, by Stanley Crawford, and Busy Monsters, by William Giraldi.
Dedal's House by Kai Meyer. I translated it the best I can because apparently there's no english translation of this book, only German,Croatian and Spanish! The original German title: Das Haus des Dedalus. I still haven't finished reading, but the book is simply amazing.
@Hannah: i just finished it for the second time, and I love that book! Why don't you like it? I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm just curious.

Right now I'm reading the 5th book of the Psy-Changelings series by Nalini Singh. They are really good so far. My favorite books are probably the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. I read a lot of paranormal romance books, obviously.

It by Stephen King. I love his stories, but his writing makes me want to put his books down immediately sometimes. Really, even though it is quite a complex, non-chronological story, the book shouldn't be 1376 pages long.
Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys, and re-reading the greatest play of the contemporary era, Tom Stoppard's Arcadia.
Spitfire Girl by Lily Baxter. My local library has been closed for ages as it's relocating to a bigger building and I'm kind of bored with all the Vampire/Werewolf/Angel/Demon themed Teen books that there are so many of lately. So I decided to pick a random book from the adult section in a sale and it's pretty good! Makes a change from all of the fantasy books I usually devour daily lol.
The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell.
Hollow Fields by Madeleine Rosca
Hurmaava joukkoitsemurha (A Charming Mass Suicide) by Arto Paasilinna

It's on my list to read, although I haven't gotten there yet. I've read a chapter and loved it. |
Well, as soon as I find "Brisinger", I'll be reading that. I think it's somewhere in the cluttered land that is my bookshelf
I'm reading an unique and interesting book. It's about a girl's lifestory who had cancer and unfortunately died. She made a blog to help those people who are in a similar situation. The book is written by her mother. Really touching story.
The Strain, by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. It's so well-written I don't even have to feel guilty for reading it.
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I've been dying to read it for years and I'm almost finished with it.
"Thus Spoke Zarathustra", by Friedrich Nietszche. I love it to the bits, and it really makes you think about humans more deeply.
I was reading the mocking jay. crap I love hunger games...
@Hladgnnr I legitly just finished the first one, and I;m gonna see the movie tomorrow.
The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells. I'm not normally a big sci-fi fan, but we'll see...
Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James. One of the major characters bugs the eff out of me, but the actual plot is good, so I guess I'll keep at it.

This - I'm not a sci-fi fan either but I thought I'd give it another go seeing as it didn't cost anything to download it on to my Kindle. Also, the fifth book in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, The Fiery Cross. I've lost track of how many times I've read these books, they are seriously amazing. |

I read that last summer. The main character really got on my nerves...I think she was called Katherine. |

Yeah, the main character's Katherine, I don't mind her so far though. Actually, I don't like the past version of her in the kind of flashbacks to Melbourne, but I like the Sydney version of her. Alice, the kind of insane girl she becomes friends with, really goddamn irks me though. Probably because she reminds me of someone I know who I really don't like, but also she's just so ridiculously vicious and doesn't even appear to realise it. I don't know, normally I like that kind of character, but I feel like jumping through the pages and ripping her head off half the time I'm reading it. xD |
The War of the Worlds wasn't as bad as I was anticipating.
I'm going to try The House of Mirth, by Edith Wharton next. I enjoyed Ethan Frome, so hopefully I'll like this one too. |
The Echo Chamber, by Luke Williams, and Mother Love, by Rita Dove.
The Cubs and Other Stories, by Mario Vargas Llosa.
