Wehey PC nerd!! I'll make him a house dont you worry!!
We have fish and chips friday!! hahaha!! I dont have vinegar on mine though, eurgh lol
I'm now installing CAW again now its finally downloaded and I'll have a play :D

Deluxe Designs 23rd Aug 2010 3:34 PM

Omg who has vinegar on their chips, is disgusting!!! bleugh, yucky I have BBQ sauce, it is just AMAZING! Like i probably would struggle to live without it!

toyou1214 23rd Aug 2010 8:33 PM

well DD, we have BBQ sauce here in the US lol. (:

Glad you like the home! I will move the statues up a hair with alt, i just put them there because i didnt know what else to put there lol. (: Glad you like the colors,

Rose: Glad you like the updates, did you notice all the bricks in the home now match? (: haha, probably not. but they do! -Very important! Ugh....crap, does the doll house need to be moved ya think? Or can it just stay,

sleepyrose 23rd Aug 2010 9:03 PM

Tyu, sometimes the placement of stuff drives me insane. The front of the dollhouse is facing the wall and just needs to be turned around to be able to reach it. So for that teeny tiny detail you'll have to re-upload the entire lot. If you don't feel like it, I can understand. If peope want to play that house, it won't be much effort to do it themselves.
Yes, I did notice the bricks. I have screenshots of Bianca slapping Bernadetta's face and you can see the old bricks in the background. And you changed the ones in the showers too, right?

Anyway, I'm glad non of you put vinigar on your chips! But do you eat pickled eggs?

EDIT: Craig I'm curious to see what you come up with for David Sharp's house!

toyou1214 23rd Aug 2010 9:06 PM

oh, (: yes, and around the mirrors.. (: lol. and i re-painted here and there, very minor changes, (:

Hi guys,

Sorry for my very late update on the bistro, but I had absolutely no time. Anyway, I know we weren’t doing the rabbit holes, however I tried to make something of the current rabbit hole as it already has this “European look”. If you guys don’t want the rabbit hole, I’m afraid that I'll have to give this part of the project to someone else due to limited time . Sorry! Thanks for your feedback!

sleepyrose 23rd Aug 2010 11:18 PM

Nivaso, that's probably the only rabbit hole that would make sense in our world. Personally I don't have a problem with using it.

toyou1214 24th Aug 2010 1:27 AM

i think you did a beautiful job, im just not sure though, because it has a grey roof, and blue....but thats just me.

Fish and chips is not as bad as it sounds. The reality is a bit scary though, lol! The first time I had it, the lady behind the counter put vinigar on it. And it wasn't a little drip either! OMG, I thought my mouth imploded! For some reason the chips also looked very droopy and sad. But then again... we put mayonese on our chips, or peanut saus... or both with raw onions.

Maggie, I know about fish on friday. Some people do it here too and as far as I know it has a catholic origin. Nowadays it's more of a habit, but from my mom's side of the family they weren't allowed to eat meat on good friday.
You moved to the US? What state did you move to? Seems like we have some globe trotters over here. Nivaso has been all over the map and I lived in the US myself.
I can understand you miss those typical British things. The fish menu at McDonalds is not quite the same, right? But it's also amazing that the Americans have so much good food. When I was there I gained at least 10 pounds, lol!

Most chippy chips are a bit droopy and soggy (in the UK at least)but they taste really good Peanut sauce on chips sounds disgusting but I just said to my husband about it and he said he tried it whilst visiting Europe on a booze cruise and said it was really nice...he said he had it with cheese too....peanuts and cheese are awesome individually but together!?!

I've travelled (and tried chippies) almost all over the UK and it's weird but most regions have different toppings that are offered as standard. Salt and vinegar is probably most common except up north where it's mushy peas or baked beans but you also get salt n sauce or gravy or curry sauce. It's weird how a whole region can have the same preferences for how they like their chips done. Personally I only ever have salt except when I was pregnant when I took a liking to vinegar for the first time in my life. I hate pickled eggs and gerkins but pickled onions are awesome....as long as they're the white ones and not the yellowy-brown ones

DD are you obsessed with BBQs or something? Tyu, personally I hate BBQ sauce but I remember the first time I went to a supermarket in the US and was astonished at the sauce aisle...you americans really love your sauces. There must've been about 100 varieties of BBQ and hot sauces...In the uk you'd be lucky to get maybe 20 varities.

Rose, I'm in Nevada I've barely left the house in 2 months because it's too bloody hot! I'm Scottish, I'm just not built for desert life Where were you? The food out here is plentiful but I do miss British food... a lot. Especially the chocolate

EDIT: Just a little update -
This is what I've done with the hospital so far. I started on the interior and realised with horroe that all of the things I was gonna use like the actuall hospital beds are in Ambitions Well I started before I saw your post Rose so went with Tyu's suggestion and tried modern for the ER...I actually quite like it. We'll see, if I get the time I might consider doing an alternative download with all the hospital themed stuff in ambitions and the CC I've found.

toyou1214 24th Aug 2010 5:51 AM

hah, Harreds (or however you spell it, i cant rememeber) had the most spectacular chocolate, (: i would love to go back again....maybe in college.(:

anyways, any home/lot updates?

missroxor 24th Aug 2010 5:55 AM

Hah! Beat you to it by half a minute! Harrods - never tried their chocolate I don't think but I bet it was expensive!! I bought a tea bag holder from there just so I could get a harrods bag It was the cheapest thing I could find and it cost about £6

Deluxe Designs 24th Aug 2010 9:55 AM

Missoroxor: Yes in fact i'm totally obsessed with BBQ sauce, it literally goes with everything aha, also i love the building so far, i look forward to updates!

sleepyrose 24th Aug 2010 3:09 PM

Maggie, that looks really beautiful! I love the way you made that top and those tiles make it look so pretty! Can't wait to see the inside!
When your husband was on that booze cruise, where you on a chip cruise through the UK?

Peanut saus sounds discusting, but it's really great. That was the only thing I really missed when I lived in the US. But I started making it myself with peanut butter, sugar and soy saus. I'm not sure if I would like chips with cheese, but cheese with those little white unions are very tasty.
Oh and chocolate, that's what I missed too! That Hershey's stuff is so artificial.

Nevada seems so beautiful. I've always wanted to go to that part of the US and do crazy stuff, like visit all the ghost towns. I can understand you want to stay inside in this weather though. People from Scotland are used to rain, just like the Dutch, right? When I was in the US, I lived in NY state and downtown Baltimore. It was wonderful there, especially in Baltimore.

toyou1214 24th Aug 2010 9:20 PM

yea, the hospital looks fantastic! I dont remember what the cost way..... but it was REALLY GOOD! (:

Hello all! if you did not know, we have made a design for the valley, (see pics) i have started building, i built kinda an entry to the mansion area, and i also built a mid-high income home.

Let me know,
tyu.

Deluxe Designs 27th Aug 2010 10:00 PM

Wow i love it, and the entry gate houses are AWESOME! :D

toyou1214 27th Aug 2010 10:19 PM

thank you! (: they are not livable homes, i have them as no visitors allowed, they are just for looks, but you like the layout for the valley?

alright, here is the interior and back of the house i built today, and it cost under 60,000! WHOO! (:

sleepyrose 28th Aug 2010 12:56 AM

That looks very pretty! Well done on the budget too.
Am I seeing this correct that there are 3 bathrooms inside? Maybe you can turn one of them into a small office. That way sims can have some skill items too. And maybe a chess table at the top by the staircase?

The little gate houses look absolutely adorable! I love them!

toyou1214 28th Aug 2010 1:47 AM

thanks! nope, two bedrooms, but i can try to add those two things into it, (maybe the chess table outside, surrounded by flowers.....)

Im glad you like them, it kind of makes it look more special and expensive..

Tyu.

sleepyrose 28th Aug 2010 2:11 AM

Yeah, that would be nice! Gives the sims something to play with.
btw, did you paint the terrain like that, or were those rows already there? It looks kinda pretty and different this way.

toyou1214 28th Aug 2010 4:11 AM

I did the stripes. I usually do that!

alright, this home is for the end of the end of the first road, its obviously very large, it is just the shape, i have done no painting, windows, etc. im also going to have pillars, and decking on each of the 'look out towers' , you get what i mean, here is a pic of what im talking about, (: what do you think? hopefully i can finish the exterior tonight, the back is going to be AWESOME! (:

Tyu.

like those pillars, but black, to match the iron.

sleepyrose 28th Aug 2010 11:17 PM

Wow, that looks like it's going to be huge. I like it so far and I'm curious how it's going to end up looking.
How many houses like this one are you planning on building in the valley?

Deluxe Designs 28th Aug 2010 11:51 PM

Woah, that is awesome!! I can't wait to see you paint it and do the back, i reckon it will turn out great, it has so much potential!
