Aussies Say Hi :D
And so, I made a new club, mostly to test out the feature, but ANYWAY, there seem to be lots of Australians here on the site, so yeah, club for us all nya ^__^. You can tell I suck at introductions, but anywayy.... hi :'D.
|
Nice to meet you, titi! Mind if I make an introduction?
Hi there all other Aussies! I am Tree4me, but I prefer to be called Liz or Liselle, and I am turning 14 in July. I am in Grade 8 (Tasmanian Grading System.) in High School! ![]() I am in a band, we call ourselves "Vertigo" until we work out a better name. ![]() I guess that's it! Hi! |
^__^. Pleased to meet you too, Liz. I'm titi (...I hate that username, but I created this account in '05), but my first name is Talia (...Hate that name too). x3. I'm 18 years old.
Oooh, I lived in Tassie for half a year when I was very, very young x3. Oh wow, overall grade A+? Woah shetz, you are a good student ^__^''. I have no idea what my overall grade is, because us Victorians don't get our scores till half way through the year. But last year I scored A+ too. But yeah, I'm a total nerdy azn. Oooh! I was in a band a couple of years ago with my friends, we called it "Poly Vinyl Chloride", or PVC for short XD. Vertigo is a super cool name, though. So whoo~! Hi, pleased to meetchya :D. |
Hi all! I'm PixCii, but please just call me Sophie or Soph.
I'm 14, turning 15 on the 22nd of August, which makes me the youngest person in my grade. I'm in Year 10 at the moment, and I'm a decent student except when it comes to Science and Maths. Overall I'm an A student though, which is pretty good. Except in Japanese, where my overall grade is 103%...and the maximum you can get is 100%. Unlike you two, I'm not at all musically talented. I can't sing, play an instrument, or even read music. I'm more of a book nerd than a musician, so I spend a lot of my spare time either reading or writing. At the moment I live in the nation's capital, Canberra, which is the most boring place to live. |
![]() ![]() ![]() |
Tourist attractions? We have Old Parliment House, Parliment House, the Museum, the War Memorial, and I've been to each of them at least five times. After you've done the tourist attractions there's nothing left to do. The shopping here is crap as well...
|
Damn. That sucks. Things are boring up there, and down here. :P
Now I'm missing Sydney. :P |

I want to learn Japanese so bad. Ooh, Canberra. I've never been there, I would like to go someday. Tourist Attractions~! Although I guess it would be a pretty boring place to live, now that you think about it :/. Anyway, welcome to the group, PixCii ^^. |
I play the Piano/Keyboard too! I also sing. :P
I had an American person come up to me after a gig at one stage and said, "You have such an awesome accent! Do all people here talk like that?" I thought it was really funny, so did Alex. :P |
Hey all,
I thought i's make an intro here, even though I haven't done one in the 'official' site intro thread yet! My name is Tenielle (same as my user name, was too hard to think of something decent), and I live in Adelaide. I am in my second year at uni studying Midwifery and absolutely love it. I love supporting women through their pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience, and seeing a woman giving birth is the most powerful thing I have ever witnessed. I have also studied one year of Psychology, and 1/2 a year of Education, but dropped out because I didn't like them. I lived in the USA for 2 years, and in Canada for almost 2 years, and loved both countries. I will go back and visit one day (when I am out of debt and have money!). I am planning to move to New Zealand when I graduate, to train in their maternity system. The Australia system works well, but needs dramatic improvements. New Zealand has a much better model of care. I have been simming for about 2 years, but only discovered this forum about a year ago, and have been actively lurking since then. I have finally got my game to a point wher I am happy with the way I have customised it with hacks and (mainly Maxis-match) CC, and have no intention of buying The Sims 3. Well, that's me! Nice to meet you all, Tenielle. |
Hi there Tenielle! :howdy:
If I wasn't so ignorant, I would've realised you were Aussie sooner. :P |
Hi guys. My name is Laura, I'm 24 and from Victoria. I've been simming since the original Sims was around, and I've been with this forum since the beginning of MTS2 back when TS2 was first released.
I have three dogs, a cat and a budgie. I'm a veterinarian by qualification but I also have severe Complex Regional Pain Syndrome that has stopped me from working since the middle of last year. I've had to give up on the idea of going into practice, indeed work in any form is looking pretty unlikely for the forseeable future, but I'm hoping to get to the point where I'm well enough to go back to uni and do a Masters or even a PhD. I like British crime fiction - either books or television (I'm a big fan of ABC Crime Night) and slightly odd comedy (think Blackadder, Monty Python, The League of Gentlemen), period drama and series such as Doctor Who and Torchwood. I also adore music. My main love is folk music - I can't really play anymore because my hands are affected by the CRPS (or CRaPS as I like to call it) but I play whistle and guitar. I can sort of sing too, but I prefer to do that when there's nobody around. I also love to cook, and I'm bloody good at it even if I do say so myself. Specialities are vegetarian and desserts, but you name it and I can cook it. So there you go - everything you ever wanted to know about Laura :D |
I love vegetarian dishes! :D
Liz sez hi! |
Laura! *huggles*
I looooooove ABC Crime Night as well, and I'm super excited that Midsomer Murders is coming back on. |
Omg more people ^___^. Hiya Laura and Tenielle. Nice to meet you both :D. Also, I love Crime and Cop shows too :D''. Especially NCIS and Law & Order. The British ones are really good too though. Also, I used to be addicted to Monty Python LOL. Anyway, I'm Talia, but anyway -hugs-. Welcome to the group :D.
|
Hey this is a nice group!
I'm Fink, I'm from good old freezing-one-day-burning-the-next Victoria. I'm 23, I'm studying nursing at Uni, I have a kid who's nearly 2 which is scary, I'm a volunteer CFA member (firefighter), I work in aged care, I love sims! lol ![]() |
Heya! Yes. That could be said about Victoria... :/. Lol, ooh, studying nursing, eh? I was going to do that, but then I didn't because I didn't want to study science D8. Woah Shetz, Firefighter eh? I idolize firefighters. So brave :D. Anyway, welcome to the group, Fink. :].
|
The one thing I don't miss about Victoria was the brown water in the Summer. Is it still like that?

Just last night on the news, they said "South Australia WILL run out of water, but do not panic!". What do you say to that!?! We did have a little rain yesterday, though, and if our State gets its desal plant up and running, then we won't have to panic anyway!
|
Oh yeah, samething goes here. We're up to Stage 4 Water Restrictions, so we haven't been able to water the garden for quite a few years now. Our garden died ages ago, so now we've got fake grass. My house looks like a golf course :/. But yeah, we've been getting a litle rain lately, and hopefully we can get things under control some time soon D8. And as for brown water, I'm not too sure, but brown plants, yep.
|
Well, when I used to live in Bendigo, the water was brown in the Summer.
Really? Stage 4 restrictions? This is why I am lucky to be living in Tassie, though our garden died years ago also. |
We have stage 4 restrictions too (down southern Vic), it sucks, the front yard is just dirt. ... as for the water, I think its normal colored... I thought only Adelaide water was brown

I still only drink rainwater, though. I would never drink tap water, however clean it is said to be. BTW- I was in Melbourne not too long ago, and the Yarra was a lovely shade of brown... ![]() |
Oh, how lovely. *sarcasm*
At least the water is drinkable there now. Where I live now, the water is drinkable, except for Scamander. Do NOT ask. |
Lol I havent been to SA for a few years, Im glad the water is good now. The Yarra river is poluted apparently, I dont think I'd wanna go anywhere near it.
|
It's so sad to hear that the Yarra is polluted. Pollution is such a terrible thing, but I can't help but think that it's my fault, as much as I hate it terribly.

Yeh they're pretty much dumping ground for old junk... or algie growing filth like the Barwon. But people are still stupid enough to SWIM in that. Ewwww....
|
I agree. That is disgusting.
|
Lol how about a different topic, poluted water is so... gross....
![]() |
Sadly, I don't think there is.
![]() What about the beaches? |
beaches are nice, except for the seaweed!
|
It's not that bad. The shark attacks are something to be a little bit worried about. :P

Just to clarify the whole "The Yarra is Polluted" issue.
Yes it is polluted in its lower reaches but this is true of any river that flows through or near a city. It is worth noting though that most of the river is actually in excellent condition and as far as the lower reaches go (i.e. the bit people most associate with Melbourne) conditions have actually greatly improved since the 1980s. Fish are now able to fully utilise most of the river that moves through the city. The reason the Yarra still looks polluted (and many people forget this) is that it is a silt-bed river. Unlike many other rivers the Yarra's bottom is made up of a mixture of silt, mud and sand where as many other more 'pristine' rivers have rock beds. The end result is that the Yarra always looks murky since so much of that silt is present in the water itself as the river flow agitates the riverbed. Don't forget each year Melbournians throw themselves into the Yarra as part of the Moomba Birdman Rally with nary a health issue. Oh and yes... I'm from Melbourne. Hi. :D |
Uh. . . huh. . . Hello. :P
|
Melbourne huh? I'm your neighbour then, down in good ol' Geelong
![]() |
Aww. . . I feel isolated. :P
|
Hey! I'm x-tashi-x, and my real name is Tashy or Tashi. (Well they're what everyone, and I mean everyone, calls me, my real name is Natasha.)
I'm 13, I live in Tasmania, and I love music. It's my life! I love bands especially Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects, Linkin Park, Cobra Starship, Hey Monday and The Academy Is just to name a few! I can play bass. I loooove animals, and used to have 4 pets. Two birds (who flew away around 2 years ago) and 2 dogs, but the girl dog died today ![]() I love shows like Supernatural, Family Guy, Reaper, American Dad etc. etc. I hope to be a photographer and author when I'm older. |

Oh, that's good.

Hey my fellow Aussies,
My nickname on here is amymnel but please call me Amy. I'm 28, married with two boys and two stepsons. Yes I know its alot of males in my life and when you add my male cat (Sootie) it gets worse. LOL!! I am actually a girly girl and love PINK. I love playing the Sims 2 and have just decided to join forums and the such. I love Aussie music (especially silverchair) and am a huge fan of the Twilight Series. Feel free to add me to your buddy list and I'll do the same. Hope everyone's having a great long weekend and Lest We Forget! Hugs to all, Amy :P |
Hi there Amy! :howdy:
Welcome to our club! Welcome to our club! :p |
Hello Deeney from Bundy, QLD :howdy:
|
Hey,
I'm Dani (as the username would suggest) and I'm an 18 year old from Adelaide. I'm in my first year of uni studying a Bachelor of Media (Creative Arts stream), and very much enjoying it. I've been playing sims for years and years. And years. I download way too much cc and drool over everyone's pictures, read stories and generally get in the mood to play...but then I'm bored within 30 minutes, if that. But I keep coming back :P I love the stories people write about their sims, and that inspired me to write my own, which you can find on here *cough*shamelessadveristing*cough* |
Welcome Amy, Deeney & Dani.
Dani- are you at Flinders? |
Thanks. And yes, I am! Do you study there too?
|
Small world.

hi! I'm Mark from Western Australia.
I'm 17, which means i am in Year 12 in Western Australian Education system. My fav subjects are maths and french. I am laidback and i hate challenges, except if their maths or sport. There are three factors that make up my life: Aviation, Sims Series and Volleyball. I've been playing volleyball since i was 11, but people call it a pussy sport , but to me, its the best sports available! I feel like bashing those people who insult volleyball :handbag: :P. Aviation is important to me. I was obsessed with its since I don't know when. I love the Sims Series. I use to have Sims 1 and some expansion packs, before getting Sims 2 and all expansion and stuff packs, but not sure about Sims 3.... btw, my username is pck because it stands for Phua Chu Kang, my favourite comedian actor ever.... watched him as a child. If you are wondering who he is, he is singaporean (yes.... i lived in asia till i was 3...but i was strangely born in australia...) |
Hi Mark!
I don't think volleyball is a lame sport. I have heaps of friends, both male and female who play it, and even though I'm really uncoordinated and can't play it without hurting myself, I love watching it, and I always join in the conversations my friends have about it. Ooh, where in Asia did you live? I loooove it. I've lived there for 5 years of my life, and loved every second of it. |
hahaha.... lol
well i lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia |
Cool. I lived in Japan and also in South Korea, but I've travelled to a lot of different places in Asia on holidays.
|
I've travelled... nowhere outside of the country. YAY ME!!!
|
Me neither. Go us!
|
Welcome Deeney, danirawr and pck, and anybody else I may have missed xP. Is it just me, or is this group pretty hot right now? xD. I didn't think it would get this many members~! Whoo, go Aussies ;D.
PixChii; WOW, you lived in Japan? It's my dream to do that *___*. As far as travelling places go, I've been to Hong Kong, where my parents come from, a couple of times. I've also been to Singapore, America, Canada, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan and New Zealand. Yeah, I get around alot DX. And speaking of sport, I play Badminton and Softball, but I suck heaps at everything else D8. I can't move to catch a ball with out certainly falling flat on my face. I'm more of an academic person, seriously xD. |
titi Japan is pretty awesome. I lived there for two years when I was 8 which was a pretty crazy cool experience for me. I'll probably be moving again in a year or two, maybe to Europe this time. It all depends on my mum's work.
In terms of sport, I play absolutely none. I'm really uncoordinated, so I don't mix well with sports. I pride myself on my academic performance rather than my sporting performance. Unfortunately I am friends with some of the sportiest people in the school, so their weekends are full of sport and whatnot, whereas mine involve lots of homework and reading, so I don't do much out of school. Oh well! |
::highfives danirawr::
I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Japan. I even speak fluent Japanese. It would be so awesome! |
Welcome all the newbies.
I just want to say, I've never left Australia and in fact have never been on a plane. I know, I'm 28 and never been on a plane but I plan on flying somewhere at some stage. I travel by car or train (on which I get motion sickness) and have managed to see a good amount of the east coast of Australia. I am very jealous of all of you that have traveled overseas. Maybe I can get to America sooner rather than later as I have planned. ![]() |
Hi fellow Aussies
![]() I've lived in Sydney for 11 years, moved to NZ for 2 years, came back to Melbourne for 3 years and moved BACK to NZ. Yes, it's confusing. I miss Oz heaps tho it's the best place ever ![]() Oh and Mark, pfft Volleyball's awesome it soo isnt a "pussy sport" ![]() I'm also 17 lol. (well in July I'll be) |
Brisbanite here! Any others?
|
Panique, close enough! I'm on the gold coast atm. Usually I go to uni down in Melbourne, but I've taken this year "off" to do a research project and that means I get to spend time back at home with my family! Lol I complain about crazy weather when I'm in victoria but I come back here and what do I get - rain, rain, flood... another flood. I want SUNSHINE darnit!
Hi to all the other Aussies! |
Hello thought I'd pop in and say hi to the Aus Simmers.
I'm Dan from Hobart in Tas. Been a sim's fan since the original game. I'm 34 and currently taking time off from work to go back to study. And omg ElPresidente I had no idea you were an aussie too...guess i thought you were Mexican for some unkown reason :D |
Welcome Dan!
I travel Asia every year. Been to Malaysia(x-infinity), Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan(x3), China(x4) and South Korea. Never been outta Asia-Pacific and Aus. Lol Amynel. To America? Haha, thats on the top of my list. |
Hi to all. Sydney sider here.
|
Hello there! I too am an Aussie, and pretty proud of that. Isn't our country lovely?
I'm Teresa, I'm 19 and I live in several different places. My main home at the moment is on the south coast of NSW, although I'm thinking about spending more time in Canberra with my family. It's kinda cool not having a 'proper' home, cause I get to go anywhere I want, when ever I want. Responsibility sucks! |
Helloo everyone! I've been living in Melbourne for a few months and I'm loving it.
As for travel, I've been to the US a couple of times annd that's about it. Maybe heading to NZ in a couple of months. :D |

I'm Jim, I'm 24 and I'm from Tamworth. Not quite as bass-ackwards as some people make it out to be :P
I'm unfortunately subsisting on disability because I've been living with chronic illness for the last two years. Heart issues, autoimmune issues, mental issues... pretty much a medical basket case. Despite that, however, I managed to do a year of tech working towards a diploma in IT. I can now build networks from scratch (given the proper equipment) and fix most of my own tech issues. Yay me. |
Hello all. I just realised that this group existed. If I knew about it before I would have joined much sooner!
|
Hi!
I just realized I never posted in here... Oops. I'm Becca, as my name suggests. I'm from country Victoria, up in the north. I've lived in this same house for my whole life, and the closest I've got to leaving the country is going up to Hamilton Island off the QLD coast for a week. I know I'm a little late, but if you want to see a polluted and dirty river, check out the Goulburn. I have family that live right on the goulburn, and... Ugh. |
Heya fellow Aussies
![]() Born in Sydney, went to Uni in Canberra, married and lived in the Netherlands for 8 years, moved to Tassie and plan to move back to the mainland soon :D Oh yeah, NSW rules :p |
