Social/Fun

Ok, so I know this whole project is supposed to be fun, but it seems very... formal...
so I figured I'd make a new thread to we could just chat, I'm old fashioned like that!
So who are you guys? :D

sleepyrose 1st Aug 2010 5:04 PM

Oh, this might save me a whole lot of yapping in the official threads, as I tend to get carried away sometimes.

Who am I? Well, that's a good question!
You can cal me Sleepy, you can call me Rose, but you can also call me Mel, or Melanie.
My first name is Melanie and my gran's name was Roos (which is Dutch for Rose). My parents named me after her and because SleepyMel didn't sound all that good, I choose SleepyRose. The sleepy part is because I'm an insomniac, but when I sleep, nothing wakes me up, lol.

So, I live in Holland and I'm 35 years old. I don't have any children, but do have 2 very sweet cats, Oscar and Nicky. Oscar's named after my favorite writer, Oscar Wilde and Nicky is just a cute name. When they want attention, they often sabotage my writing, by sitting on the keyboard.
Before I fell ill, I used to work as a social worker, which was a wonderful job, but also sad sometimes.
I have many interests, music, reading, movies, art, going on vacation with friends, and of course the sims. (surprise!)
Oh and I also love chocolate and ice cream very much, lol!

Now I'd really like to know who you are!

Craggles 1st Aug 2010 5:15 PM

well, I'm Craig and I'm 20. I'm from Norfolk in England, and I live in a tiny village, when I'm not at uni studying Architectural Technology. Which is the hardest but most fun thing I've ever done!! Right now I'm on my summer holidays, which is why I've suddenly appeared on MTS. I build stuff all the time, I just never had the time or patience to actually upload them or do anything like this :D

I go to the gym, swim, read, watch a LOT of films, and simming! Much to my parent's disgust haha
I tell them it's part of my course at uni :P

nivaso 1st Aug 2010 6:24 PM

Hi there,

Great idea introducing the CAW cast. Nice meeting you all. My name is Nick, (almost like Rose’s cat name, lol). I’m 29 years old, almost married, Dutch from origin and I live in Madrid, Spain.

I work in finance and in my free hours I spend time Photoshopping, reading, searching on wiki/google, having a walk through the park/city, travelling once in a while, going to the cinema and of course playing the Sims 3,….. just ordinary.

So now you know something about me 

Deluxe Designs 1st Aug 2010 6:54 PM

Why hello everyone! :P

Well my name is Hamilton (yes that's my first name not my second! ) I'm currently at school and i'm 17, i have one more year before i head off to uni! (woo) I live at home in Oxfordshire in England, and i plan to study English at uni!

Personality wise i am a bit crazy (well a say a bit, LOL! Biggest understatement of the century ) I think i'm quite fun and i'm always happy (never a dull moment in my life ), i love playing badminton and tennis, i like swimming too! I also love watching films, whether at home or the cinema, i just love films! I enjoy going out with friends, and also sims, ooh and i like reading too.

And finally, as if i haven't bored you all to death already, my parents (like craggles) deeply frown upon my obsession with sims, so i just say i'm 'working' Oooh on the topic of working i also have a part time job as a cashier and shelf stacker!

Soooo that's about my life story!

sleepyrose 1st Aug 2010 7:55 PM

It's great to know more about you all!

Craig, Architectual technology might come in very handy when building for the sims. And it seems that the sims also come in handy as make-believe study work, lol. "Trust me mom and dad, it's not a game, it's an architectual program"

Nick, you're from Dutch origin? Did you move to Spain a long time ago? I've always wanted to visit Madrid, but haven't had the chance yet. I'd love to see the Escorial. Congratulations on almost being married! When is the date, if I may ask?

DD, I had no idea that your name was Hamilton. That's a beautiful name, btw! I'm so happy to hear that you're always happy, lol! Where are you planning to study English? At Oxford?

toyou1214 1st Aug 2010 8:21 PM

Great idea, (: i will write mine soon, haha. just busy at the moment!

Deluxe Designs 1st Aug 2010 10:09 PM

Oh i WISH i was bright enough to study at Oxford, that would be a dream, but alas no! I will probably go somewhere like durham, bristol, that sort of place

Craggles 1st Aug 2010 10:21 PM

dude you should apply to nottingham trent! its where i study and it's AMAZING!! haha and with the creativity you have you should do interior architecture or something =]

Deluxe Designs 1st Aug 2010 10:37 PM

I know i always wanted to be an architect, but then i moved away from it when i got a bit older, it is something i really enjoy but i dunno, i don't think that there is enough money in it for me personally (LOL how rich do i wanna become? Answer: very ) But lol i can come keep you company at nottingham! :D

sleepyrose 1st Aug 2010 10:42 PM

Lol! How rich can you get from studying English?

Deluxe Designs 1st Aug 2010 10:45 PM

Haha, when i graduate i want to go into business, it doesn't matter if i do economics, maths, or english, i could go into business with any of them And i like english the most, hopefully one day i will be a CEO of a large company that's the BIG picture!

sleepyrose 1st Aug 2010 11:27 PM

Wow, I didn't know you could go into business with english! But yeah, that's definitely the best of those 3.
Sooo, I'm guessing your LTW is: Living in the lap of luxury, lol! :D

Craggles 1st Aug 2010 11:37 PM

hahahaha u guys make me laugh!! LOL as if architecture isnt gonna make you rich enough?! I plan on owning my own firm somewhere warm and not England haha :P

sleepyrose 1st Aug 2010 11:55 PM

That's the spirit, Craig! Where do you want to move? Dubai? If you score an architectual job there, you're probably settled for life.

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 12:02 AM

hahaha thatd be great. but i cant smoke, i cant drink, and id get in prison for being gay, so its prob best to stay out of dubai... lol i dunno, spain, america, australia. just not england =]

sleepyrose 2nd Aug 2010 12:08 AM

Yes, that makes no sense, especially because you are allowed to wear a dress :P
On a more serious note: what do you want to build after you graduate?

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 12:11 AM

basically the sort of stuff im doing now, houses. either quite grand or weird and quirky. though I like all the eco building materials that we have available now, hay bales... weird lime plaster, all kinds of things!! haha i'm easily pleased.

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 12:24 AM

Hello everyone! I am Toyou1214, tyu, But my name is Connor, And i live in a suburb just north of the Minneapolis/ St.Paul area.

I got into sims about a year and a half before the sims 3 came out, and i was never really satisfied with the sims 2 because of that! haha. But i dont really spend that much time on the sims, or the internet for that matter, (until this project picked up speed, i need to be on here all the time to keep up with everything. (: ) Because i am to busy being a teenager. Im 15, and i will be a sophomore this year in high school. Im noticing i am much younger then most of the main creators, so i have had to work even more hard to create homes and buildings that would live up to those standards, When i grow up (haha love saying that!) i want to be an architect. I love to build the mcmansions that everyone here loves to hate, but are actually jealous they cant live in. And i want to own my own architecture firm. (im with you DD, no such thing as too much money) My dream is to have a company that sells the customer everything they need for a home or remodel, the lights, the paint, the siding, the granite etc. so that i make the profit! Bwahaha. I play in all types of sports, but i am more of a "stand out" in swimming, that is my main sport. I enjoy just being a teen, and being around my friends and/or family.

For character traits, im outgoing, athletic, exciting, perfectionist, compassionate, and good listener. -So i've been told.

And if you are still reading this...(yea i can ramble on for a longgggg time.) My parents also frown upon me being online very often, because they see the sims as a waste of time, and i see it as a way to prepare for a future in architecture. -a very simplified version of course.

Well thats me....in like a paragraph or so, any questios? (:

Its really great to meet you all, i really like how we are all completely different in ages, where we live, what we do, and stuff like that, but we can all get together here and create something spectacular, it still blows me away.

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 12:30 AM

WHAT?! please excuse the following language: the houses you build are fucking AMAZING for your age!! i was expecting you to be like 'yeah i'm 27 and im a designer' ahahah well done you!

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 12:34 AM

haha, no i am 15, and thanks. (: i guess the perfectionist in me is useful! hah, my mom is a home designer, more the decorating but she has done entire homes before, so i have learned a lot about that from being around her, we work really well together.

Haha, that will hopefully be me in 12 years? as long as the housing industry and the economy pick up, i certainly would not go to college for architecture now... which makes me sad. because its def. my passion.

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 12:42 AM

haha im here now, and by the time i finish it will've (hopefully) got better and I'll have a well paid job lol

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 12:45 AM

hopefully, is it bad in england? Because the housing industry here sucks at the moment, thankfully my family has not been affected by the recession. (:

sleepyrose 2nd Aug 2010 12:47 AM

Wow! I'm soooooo amazed too! You've got so much talent!!! You'll probably end up as a kick-ass mcmansion builder!

And all of the sudden I feel very old, Lol! But even though I don't live with my parents, they too frown upon me being online so much. But that's mainly because they can't understand where online is. :D

What interesting thing are in Minniapolis/St.Paul? I know you've got that arch, which is pretty cool. Do you have more stuff like that?

Craggles, I love your new avatar. You look so pretty in pink!

Deluxe Designs 2nd Aug 2010 12:47 AM

is your course something ridiculous like 7 years?

sleepyrose 2nd Aug 2010 12:49 AM

I think the housing market is bad everywhere at the moment. But recession always has to end some time, right?

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 12:50 AM

haha no just four im doing architectural technology which is different to architecture, i learn all the science behind the building and realise what i can and cant build, whereas an architect has no... background into science and so has to have an engineer check all his work is actually build-able! I'm learning 2 peoples jobs in half the time haha

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 12:52 AM

hah, rose, the arch is in st. louis, like far away (more south). (: hah. we have the mall of america, the 2nd largest mall in the world, and thats about it...haha. its pretty boring here, by that standpoint.

Oh and thank you, i don't have that much talent, gosh. (:

Oh good question dd, is it? im curious.

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 12:56 AM

haha i already answered u both!!!
and hahahaha rose!! its from my freshers week at uni, our halls had the colour pink. it was awful. lol

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 12:58 AM

Hope so rose! (:

ha, the pic is funny! made me laugh!

SimGirlTasia232 2nd Aug 2010 2:36 AM

I May be Late but

I'm Tasia Im 23 from NJ. I'm a hardcore PS3 gamer and a sims fan since forever lol. I'm also trying to learn how to do graphics in photoshop but suck lol. But i have my own gaming site for my clan and for the open gaming community in general if you want to visit just pm me and i'll send you the link

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 2:37 AM

Thats awesome! what is the gaming site for? sims or just everything?

SimGirlTasia232 2nd Aug 2010 2:41 AM

Everything but mostly PS3 but people talk in all other parts of the forum as well and i think i'm the only Simmie out of all 94 of them lol

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 3:01 AM

haha. Well you should introduce them to the game!

nivaso 2nd Aug 2010 11:56 AM

What a curious combination here, people from all over the world, creating “one world”.
Thanks to some creators we keep the average age low here ;-)

Rose, to come back to your previous question. I left Holland in 2005.. Before 2005 I was living in the UK; Beds, close to London and I’ve visited beautiful Oxford and Howard Castle in York. That was in 2004. Madrid is OK, liked it more when I was a student, the whole approach was different back then. What I like from Madrid is that it’s different from the typical coast, however the weather is a bit hard here. Between late October and the beginning of March, it’s freezing at night . However the days are nice and I love the cold as long as it’s dry! Summers are horrible, above 104 F, like today. Our air conditioning is running over hours.

And Tyu, do you know which is the biggest mall in the world? I’ve visited the Edmonton Mall in Alberta (in 1991), Canada, that one was pretty big. Loved it.

sleepyrose 2nd Aug 2010 1:23 PM

Nivaso, i agree, it's amazing that we have people from all over the world and different ages working on one project.
Judging from what I read, you're quite a globe trotter.
How wonderful that you studied in Spain! I can understand that it's different when your a student, opposed to actually living there. But i didn't know that about the weather. In my imagination it's always sunny in Spain, lol! But do you like it better there than in Holland?

England has got some lovely sights too. I've been to London a couple of times and I have family living in a small village in Stoke-on-Trent. For my cousins it's an absolute mind numb, but when I visit, i love the country side so much. For a Dutch girl any sight of a small hill can be overwhelming, lol!

For 2 years I lived in America, and Tasia, it's so nice to hear you're from NJ! Are you in the north or in the south? When I was there I first lived right by the border in NY. It was so amazing to see the difference between the industrial places, like Newark, and all the picturesque villages. You can't believe you're in the same country! After a while I moved to Baltimore, which was very beautiful too.

Anyway, I think I've done enough rambling, lol!

nivaso 2nd Aug 2010 2:26 PM

So you lived close to the border of NY? How nice. Love the States, spend lots of summer holidays there, loved the autumn landscapes like in Dutch Pennsylvania. In general I love the houses in the US and as you said, lots of picturesque villages over there. Rose, you studied/worked in the US?

I’m not really a global trotter anymore, used to be though. But now I spend most of my trips visiting family and just getting a day older ;-) like to relax and do not so “impressive” things. I finished college when I was 22. After that I started working, but always wanted to go to Madrid.

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 5:33 PM

Yes, the biggest mall is the one in canada, but it is only bigger by having a water park, the mall of america actually has more stores, you can get married in the mall of america, there is a complete church inside of it! Along with a college! Its insane!

When i was about 10 my family took a trip all over Europe, we visited, hamburg Germany, Paris and London, and it was just a great trip! I wish i could go again, i would appreciate the architecture and the museums A LOT more now that i get it, lol.

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 5:43 PM

london's not that great lol! buildings are cool yeah, but generally the quality of people has gone down A LOT. haha

lanawinst 2nd Aug 2010 6:11 PM

Please don't say that, I'm dying to go to London someday

So fun indeed to have so many people from all these different countries and different backgrounds. Seems like a lot of you have been moving a lot. Lucky y'all I did too but i wish i could travel even more.

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 6:24 PM

it just blows me away, that we all see completely different things everyday, all over the world, and yet we can all create a world that goes together. (: unbelievable in my opinion! hah.

I really enjoyed london, there were so many cool things to see, when we were there planet hollywood had just had a fire, so we had to eat somewhere with no american food, it was quite the experience. haha!

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 6:26 PM

oh god, no american food?! how did you cope?! :P

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 6:38 PM

haha, i was ten, and im picky! haha

sleepyrose 2nd Aug 2010 7:50 PM

Hahaha! My god that's funny!
Food is so different everywhere. My cosins in England consider beans on toast a meal. I'd never be able to do that! But to us eating raw herring is considered very normal.
American food is a whole other story. I found it soooo addictive. The supermarkets are almost 10 times as big as ours and they're filled with snacks. Aside from peanut butter & jelly there was nothing I didn't like.

Lana, you're from France, right? So are probably the most culinary refined person amoung us.

Craggles 2nd Aug 2010 7:53 PM

beans on toast IS A MEAL!!!! hahahaha

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 8:02 PM

Not even close craig! haha. (: my favorite is pizza and tacos, We eat food from everywhere? do you? and yes rose, our grocery stores are pretty insane! Something i remember from Germany was that when you were done with your bottles, glasses etc you bring to a place to recycle and refill! it was so different! haha

Deluxe Designs 2nd Aug 2010 9:49 PM

Beans on toast would be a meal if i liked beans Also london is amazing!! I love london, then again i live in the middle of the countryside so i find most cities amazing The best city i've ever been to is San Fransisco though, that is epic!! :lovestruc

sleepyrose 2nd Aug 2010 10:28 PM

Nivaso, I did work in the U.S., but the main reason I moved there was for love. I married an American. The marriage did not last, but I really had a good time there.

Oh, I know about the getting older part. But sometimes I'm still restless. My dream would be to get a camper and just drive thoughout the U.S.

How did you end up in Madrid after you finished college? Did you get a job there, or did you just decide to pack and leave?

toyou1214 2nd Aug 2010 11:06 PM

yea, san Fransisco is amazing DD! (:

Hah. there is def. a lot to see here in america, you should take a camper sometime!

nivaso 3rd Aug 2010 9:31 AM

Well that explains a lot that you went to the US. The most important thing is that you had a good time there. - I went for the same reason to Madrid as you went to the US ;-), but the reason I ended up in Madrid and not another Spanish city was because it was one of the cities I liked most in Spain. It’s very different from the rest of Spain. I didn’t have a job though, so yes, it was like pack and leave. About the camper, I think many Dutch share that dream with you. I love driving in North America, it’s so relaxing.
But than once again, it’s “relaxing” haha. My best holiday memories are those where I was close to a place where there were mountains, lakes, rivers and forest.

Craggles 3rd Aug 2010 12:00 PM

arent you guys so glad I made this thread?! We're not just SimNerds. We're people too haha

nivaso 3rd Aug 2010 1:02 PM

yes, it was a actually a very good idea Craggles. Don't know how to say that in Simlish though, should be something like: "Ayarasum, mogie pelew snible flakken benda hooby nooby" .....

sleepyrose 3rd Aug 2010 10:20 PM

Yes, I'm very glad you made this thread, Craig
It's so nice to get to know you all!

Nivaso, how romantic that you went to Spain to be with your loved one! Just pack and leave and not knowing what's going to come, that's very adventurous.

Like you, I love to relax in places with mountains and lakes. But I also love big cities. Baltimore was my favorite place. So many interesting people and places. I still miss it!

toyou1214 4th Aug 2010 12:11 AM

haha, i also love the idea of this thread! it is really great to get to know more people on here!

toyou1214 4th Aug 2010 6:19 AM

I have a question, before i joined this group or contacted you to join the group, did you know of me? Or my uploads? Im curious.(:

sleepyrose 4th Aug 2010 7:34 PM

Didn't know your name, Tyu, but your uploads looked familiar and so does your website.

sleepyrose 4th Aug 2010 8:22 PM

Craig, I found some pictures for you. After I've searched everything, I might find more. Here are the samples. The real ones are much bigger and don't have a watermark.
If you like them, I can try to put them on a default painting. I've always wanted to learn to do that anyway, lol.

These are from Leonardo DaVinci:

I thought maybe you'd like these 2 sketches aswell, because they look so mysterious.

This one I colored in, because they are black& white illustrations. I think I have about 7 like this one.

Let me know if you're interested.

Craggles 4th Aug 2010 8:30 PM

yessss i enjoy these, and tbh, theyd go in most of the homes anyway. with it being a christian fishing village!! and theyll look nice in my game in general haha :D

toyou1214 4th Aug 2010 9:56 PM

(: im confused though, why are we looking for more pics and custom content?

Tyu.

Craggles 4th Aug 2010 10:03 PM

oh this is just for my church, and my own personal use, and cuz rose made them, theyll just come with the download of the church if u want the CC one (which will have nothing to do with this world, unless people download it) :D

toyou1214 4th Aug 2010 10:05 PM

oh, okay, i was so lost! ahah.(:

sleepyrose 4th Aug 2010 10:44 PM

Tyu, I posted them here, in the chit-chat thread, to avoid confusion, lol! This is only going to be for personal use and will not be included in the world.
Thanks Craig, I'm happy you like them! I'll try to put them on a default painting this week. Very curious how that's going to look, because I've never done that before.

Craggles 5th Aug 2010 12:00 AM

did you guys know DD's gone on holiday?! lol

Craggles 5th Aug 2010 4:53 PM

So I know this is totally irrelevant, but LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!

Thats right, its a waterfall!!!

It took so long to actually figure out, but I was so proud of it I had to show you guys! :P

sleepyrose 5th Aug 2010 9:43 PM

Wow, that's wonderful! How did you do that???

toyou1214 5th Aug 2010 10:23 PM

Thats really cool! how did you do that?

sleepyrose 5th Aug 2010 11:18 PM

Lol, tyu, I think our posts might have crossed, but we're dying to know!

toyou1214 6th Aug 2010 12:25 AM

haha, (: me too! i want one in my next upload! i have a home i have been working on in mind....(:

Craggles 6th Aug 2010 1:06 PM

you use the fog emitter thing from ambitions, then change the settings of it so it says: waterfall_1_short
then it looks like that father than fog,
same with the fountain, change the fog emitters settings to say: large fountain
and thats what you get!!
it literally will show up every special effect ever haha

sleepyrose 6th Aug 2010 1:34 PM

Sweet! I'm going to have to try that out! Already have an idea where, but I'm not sure if it's going to work, lol.

toyou1214 6th Aug 2010 7:17 PM

Hey, how do you get the fogger? never seen that....

Tyu.

Deluxe Designs 6th Aug 2010 7:45 PM

Oh hey everyone, so my 2 days of traveling are over and i'm in Austria I will spend as much time as i can building but i won't be able to get on the internet much as it's mega expensive!! I'll try and post an update while i'm away

toyou1214 6th Aug 2010 8:12 PM

Sounds great! Have a fantastic trip!

Tyu.

sleepyrose 6th Aug 2010 8:17 PM

Lol! DD, you're on holiday and you're still working? Maybe you'll get some inspiration for a yodle house.

Tyu, the fog emitter is in the buydebug. It's the bright blue ball.

Craig, how do you get all the fx to show up? The only one that I get to see is the something_fog_thing. Do you have to type it in yourself?

Craggles 6th Aug 2010 8:19 PM

1 Attachment(s)
thats cool DD oooh austria, u speak german?

and Tyu,
do the old 'testingcheatsenabled true'
then 'buydebug on'
then in buy mode there'll be a new subfolder in the 'sort by function' tab which is like a little question mark,
THEN in the misc tab and like 2/3 down theres a weird green ball. place it somewhere and in live mode it creates fog. if you go back to buy ctrl + shift click on the green ball and itll give you some options click on the top one ( i cant remember what it says) and change the field to basically anything haha! This is a list i got from the net, i cant remember who made it or id put a link of some sort up, but everyone ive looked at are the same, it looks confusing, but if you stick to the stuff that looks obvious then its quite fun!!

Craggles 6th Aug 2010 8:20 PM

and this is four you too rose and anyone else for that matter haha

Craggles 6th Aug 2010 8:21 PM

as if ive spelt 'for' wrong, jesus

sleepyrose 6th Aug 2010 8:35 PM

Thanks so much Craig! That will save a lot of time searching.

toyou1214 6th Aug 2010 8:43 PM

yea, thanks ill play with that later.

toyou1214 7th Aug 2010 1:16 AM

Hey, which one(s) did you use to make that fountain?

toyou1214 8th Aug 2010 6:52 AM

1 Attachment(s)
hey everyone! well i just had to show you all my newest home! Its a sneak peak. (: hah. i am in love with the outside myself! :D

sleepyrose 8th Aug 2010 7:02 PM

Tyu, that looks very beautiful. I love the tower in the middle! Did you build this for our world?

toyou1214 9th Aug 2010 1:13 AM

It can be, hah. maybe in the valley area? this is kinda what i had in mind, but i was building it to upload.

Craggles 9th Aug 2010 11:16 AM

Erm guys I have some bad news: I might not be able to help you for much longer/at all. My Aunt's got some autoimmune disease which means she is basically allergic to her own body, and her white blood cells are... well they're pretty much attacking her from the inside. We're not sure what's gonna happen but IF I just disappear at least you guys know it's not cuz I'm a douche but cuz of that. So yeah I'm gonna try and get the graveyard done at somepoint very soon, but if I go I'm gonna have to leave it to one of you guys to change the things that need changing. I really wish this wasn't happening but it's not like I can control it!
It's been brilliant working with you guys and hopefully nothing will come of this and my Aunt will be fine and we can carry on like normal!!

Craig, I'm so sorry to hear this! The most imporant thing is that your aunt is going to be alright. So, don't worry about the graveyard. If you're not up for building it, just let us know. For now we'll keep the spot reserved for you and hope you'll be back soon. It's been so wonderful to work with you. You're a great addition to our group and anytime you want to hop back on board, we'll be happy to have you back!
All the best to your aunt and take care!

Im very sorry to hear about your aunt, thats a terrible thing to go through, i will keep her in my prayers. Dont worry about the grave yard, if you need to quit, please if it is possible leave a pm for me or rose, or just write something here quick, it would be much appreciated! It has been fantastic getting to know you, (: and hopefully she can get healthy in time for the next world. (:

hi guys.
so my aunts not gonna get any better, and will probs either get worse, or be on drugs for the rest of her life to keep her alive. but that doesnt mean I cant carry on here, she's been moved to a hospital like 1.5 hours away so I wont get chance to see her very often/at all, so really I have no reason not to keep building stuff!! Right now I'm building a massive house just for fun btu after that's done I'll get on the graveyard :D
hope you lot are good

toyou1214 11th Aug 2010 6:30 PM

Im sorry to hear about your aunt, but im glad you will still be working with us, it was much quieter and less random without you! ahah, you should post pics of the large house here so i can see, i am really interested. (:

Tyu.

Craggles 11th Aug 2010 7:25 PM

hahaha i knew you would be tyu, which is why I've taken some

It's literally killed my pc, so anyone's PC will have to be amazing to run it smoothly. It still works fine, but like, it takes AGES to go from buy to live and stuff. I blame the shrubbery...

So yeah, get ready for a LOT of photo's cuz I'm completely in love with this... haha

Street View

It's meant to look like old Spanish(ish) townhouses that've been knocked into one

Rear View

As you can see, the back has been renovated to include a full glass wall (in my game i used CC windows and doors that are seamless but I had to change them if I want to post it on here!!

YEAH waterfalllllsss!! This took my so long I cant begin to tell you, multi level water is a bitch

Kitchen/Diner

Office/Study/Thing

So yeah....
Hopefully you can see why my PC lags like hell when I move from buy to live. What's really odd is that is all it affects... Like, being in Live Mode doesn't make it slow, just changing modes. And what's even stranger is that it doesn't matter if I have the graphic settings on my normal level (middleish) or on the low setting. It'll still take ages to load!!
Want me to put the file up so you can test it?

:D

toyou1214 11th Aug 2010 8:25 PM

It looks fantatstic Craggles, it could go on the second road at the end of the street! and change the lot to a 46X46 instead of 40X40.

toyou1214 11th Aug 2010 8:25 PM

Oh and you still gotta tell me what code you use to get the water fountain. (:

sleepyrose 11th Aug 2010 9:10 PM

Craig, I'm very sorry to hear your aunt is not getting better! Her being so far away must be very hard for you.
In this situation it sounds kind of weird, but I'm glad you can still build houses. The lot you made is fantastic! The waterfalls look amazing too!

Craggles 11th Aug 2010 9:31 PM

I enjoyed this house, it looks like the kinda thing an English person would move into and renovate, not your typical local's house haha :P
haha its 'waterfall_2_short'
without the 's
if that makes sense.
and yeah Mel I am too :D

toyou1214 11th Aug 2010 9:58 PM

and did you have more then one?

Where did you place it exactly?

Craggles 11th Aug 2010 11:02 PM

its pretty confusing, cuz the waterfall seems to start a way forward from the emitter itself, and you have to place it at the top of where you want the waterfall. if you want i'll take some photos of how to use it tomorrow?

toyou1214 11th Aug 2010 11:22 PM

sure, im just kinda starting to play around with it, i would like on in my next upload, (:

Craggles 11th Aug 2010 11:24 PM

ahhhh ok cool. i'll get on it in the morning (its 10:30pm here haha)

toyou1214 11th Aug 2010 11:26 PM

i found a really helpful video on watefalls, so i watched that and your pics will help, i might understand this yet! hah. (: im usually like the last person to figure cool stuff out, if i do at all. lol

sleepyrose 11th Aug 2010 11:49 PM

Conner, I'm sure you'll have it figured out before I do, lol! Where did you find that video?
Oh and Craig, the pictures you took from inside the house... did you have a sim move in? The camera and I always have huge fights when taking pictures, so the sim's viewpoint gets screwed up most of the time, lol!

Craggles 12th Aug 2010 12:04 AM

haha yeah its where my family ive had since the basegame live, they've built it up and up :D
