The weather has been very strange in my country over the past few years, especially in winter. It’s not even mid-February, yet the weather outside feels like early spring – this has been the case for almost the entire winter period. It’s sunny, it’s warm, and sometimes you can even hear the birds singing.
I really don’t like the cold, but despite that, this weather is not normal for this time of year in Europe. When it does get colder, it rains, very rarely snows. At the end of January, there was a solid snowfall, and it even accumulated about 10cm, but the snow melted very quickly days after.
Sometimes it’s so warm that every time I go out and then come back home after, my clothes are almost always wet. I wonder how I haven’t gotten sick yet from this sudden change in temperatures. Early in the morning is about 3 degrees, noon is about 20 degrees and evening is about 10 degrees (degrees in Celsius).

I'm with you on the snow thing. I've read we're supposed to get anywhere from 5 to 8 inches, possibly. It is going to be one of those 'look out the window to see how much snow there really is' kind of storms as nobody agrees about anything other than it is going to snow.

Today, I had cooked food on the stovetop for the first time in GORK how long. I found the quality better than "nuking it" in the microwave, as my father called it.

About halfway done with my treatment.

I lost 4.2 pounds from last week.

I don't know if it was my change of diet (full of keto foods...) or the fact I really wasn't so hungry due to my cold...I am just happy things are going in my favor today.

I have chores to do, but I am happy to be able to have the time to get it done.

I even cooked on the stovetop again. I actually missed the feeling of such control.

I am currently working on my Bucket List Goals. I found a listing for farm land in Litchfield, California and I'm working on eco-friendly, budget-friendly, body-friendly, and travel-friendly health and beauty products.

TikTok Is OUTRAGED By Poppi's "Vending Machines" For Influencers...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeLZGKxNtz0

I bought a single can of Poppi last summer. I'll never buy another one has it has a funky aftertaste as many sparkling waters do. The only one I like is Liquid Death. That's over $7.00 for a case of 6 with the bottle deposit in my neck of the woods. It goes without saying, I don't buy them often. It is equal to take out... flushing money down the toilet; literally. Nobody has time for that. We're going to replace our ancient, 28-year old windows this year. I'm tired of cold drafts and ridiculous heating bills.

* I know how old the windows are because we replaced the even worse wood frame windows when we bought the house. Once the windows are done, next up.... new furnace which is just as old and inefficient as the windows. We've also replaced the furnace once. The gas company installed it; never again. I'm hiring a contractor this time.

It is going to be expensive year, but I'm not buying crap and doing these things save money on the flip side.

Slept for several hours after work yesterday - completely zonked out not long after dinner, and woke up around midnight. Kinda tired (after work) today too. Maybe slightly less. Been working quite a lot lately...

Washing dishes and three comforters, fixed a tin coin box, got my bangs trimmed (they grow much faster than the rest of my head of hair.), cooked again on the stove...I'm actually enjoying the art of stovetop cooking.

It is Friday, finally. It has been a weird week. Not in a bad way, just people are frickin' weird-kind of way. I can no longer say that I've never heard somebody attach morality to buying makeup. I'm not going to explain. It's not worth my time or wasting time of somebody else. Then Google decided they were only going to forward some email from my GMail account but not all of them. That turned into a episode of "How many hoops can Google make a person jump through just to do a simple thing."

It is a full moon is today. The rotational pull from the moon be pulling...

EDIT: Going to talk to people about new windows tomorrow. Then after seeing the heating bill which was ridiculous, I called a local heating and cooling company about getting a estimate for a new furnace. They'll be here next Wednesday so we can talk and they can give me a estimate.

I refuse to pay out the nose for another cold, drafty winter. It used to be that we'd get a break depending on the season. During the summer the electric bill goes up, but the gas ( heating) bill drops to under $30.00. During the winter we'd get a break on the electric bill, but the gas bill goes up. This no longer seems to be the case. I'm paying for bullshit that I don't even own... i.e a electric vehicle.

We've already insulated the attic. If new windows and a new heating system doesn't make a major difference, then I guess we look into having insulation blown in the walls.

Having Valentine's Day by myself and working on a project for other organizations I am part of. Exclusive membership.

Just had some delicious ramen. Not Nissin's Top Ramen or Maruchan, but Sapporo Ichiban Original Soy Sauce flavor. The noodles are more tender when cooked in a pot on the stove and are, to me, easier to slurp.

Received a thing of chocolate and a funny greeting card. Another one for my memory box. I am still loved, even if I worry too much that I am a nuisance to others. I guess it's a "in my head" problem.

I guess if I had a major complaint with my housekeeping job, it's my payment schedule.

I work Sunday to Saturday for a few hours each day or more depending on the severity of the messes left over and this is a collective of a couple hours or so a day, not in one burst every day.

When I get paid, I am paid on the following Sunday evening while doing the next week's cleaning. Problem is, in the US, banks are closed to enter the branch on Sundays and withdrawal of cash is left for my parents. I am paid $39, an off number because it requires the math and bills to break a $50 note.

If cash was something I was looking for, I would have to wait until Monday and Tuesday, our free days as a family and unfortunately, if my parents are at work on Wednesday, that's a big deal.

I get an allowance for my disability on the last Wednesday each month to prepare for the month ahead, which I struggled with my disability my entire life without realizing how difficult things were for myself when I was told it was invisible.

I was the type who grew up thinking that a disability had to be manifested in a way that was like getting struck by lightning. Invisible disabilities are currently being recognized as mental health and self care become a hot button issue.

That money for the month comes in on Wednesday.

Wednesdays are a no go because I can't drive and my parents work day long shifts as I work on keeping the house from falling apart.

(Seriously, a part came loose during breakfast at the cabinetss and when I flush my toilet in my bathroom, the tub makes a weird rumble (worried about the septic tank acting up).

Although the house was built with cheap parts, this house was being built while my grandmother was in hospice care at home before dying from Parkinson's almost 11 years ago. I couldn't fault my grandfather for wanting to stay close to my grandma's side after 57 years together.)

Aside from the house falling apart and banking complexities, I am enjoying the calm before the snow storm on Thursday. My parents may get slammed by last minute preparation shoppers (dad works at a big box grocery store type Walmart and mom works in QVC's warehouse distribution center.)

Don't ya love people that don't listen?

We went to Lowe's to talk about replacement windows. The guy that comes out, measures and all that called shortly after we got home. I emphasized that I don't want any bills or debt related to this project, at all. After he tells me that it is going to be anywhere from $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 for just 3 windows, he then goes on to tell me that we could just put the whole project on a Lowe's credit card because there is zero interest for 12 months.

What the actual fuck? What part of "I do not want any debt for new windows" does a person not understand? Just for giggles, I went on Synchrony Bank's website ( which is linked to the Lowe's website) as they are the bank that Lowe's does their credit card business through.

https://www.lowes.com/l/Credit?intc...e-logo-grid_ext

31.99% interest. What a deal! To make it worse, that is a variable rate which means it can go higher. For comparison, our credit card that I use as a debit card has a 10% interest rate that is locked in.

Based on the fact that they were more interested in selling me a credit card rather than listening, Lowe's is not getting the job. I need to find a local window company...

Today, I got paid. I washed numerous racks full of dishes and brushed my teeth and weighed myself and now I am down from 340 lbs to 332.2 lbs since February 1, 2025.

I recently had been on a supplement regimen that alters my body and my mind in a good way and I am listening to my body and mind in a way that isn't bored or stressed. The fog is lifted and I am not eating out of stress, so I take the wins as they come.

I bought a bumper sticker for my lilac steamer trunk (I can't drive due to my idiopathic anxiety issues, but I love dressing up my steamer trunk.) and a hybrid bathroom scale.

(It's analog and digital with a weight limit of 396~400 pounds of weight) When I try to weigh myself on the old scale, it tends to get reading errors and it takes forever to hold still and read my weight because it's very sensitive and it's one I had for about 9 years.

I'm either having allergy issues or I'm getting sick. I can't tell the difference at the moment. Also, it is really windy out. I'm waiting for the power to flicker or go out.

There was a conversation about the butt munch from Lowe's yesterday. Now that I know what I know, it all makes sense.

The dude that called is a high pressure sales person. When he gets a sale, he gets a cut. Also, if he talks people into credit cards, he gets money for that as well. I can't stand high pressure sales people. It doesn't matter what they are selling. This is why influencers on Youtube and everywhere else get under my skin. They don't give a rats ass about what they're selling, they just want their coin and they'll promise the moon to get it.

Influencers also make the product they're peddling more expensive. The company the influencers work with not only want a profit, but they also want to regroup the cost for having to pay the influencer to sell their shit. The fee that is paid to the influencer is cooked into the final sales price. I digress.

In a attempt to smooth things over, we were told that if we decide to go with Lowe's for new windows, we don't have to deal with butt munch. We can get things done without having to listen to his yapping and there will be no lip service about credit cards. While I haven't decided what we are going to do and I have time to think about it, my knee jerk reaction is to say no. However, there are benefits to going that route. If there is a problem with the windows themselves or the installation, we can walk into the store and speak to a person face to face rather than being handed from one person to the next via a phone call.

Meanwhile, Lowe's complains about low numbers for installations. You didn't think this story would end without a splash of irony, did you? High pressure sales person acts like a dick and the company loses money. Go figure!

Side note: The reason it would be so expensive for just 3 windows ( We have 13 windows total. My plan is to replace the drafty, terrible windows first) is because we'd have to have them custom made. My house was built in 1972. The windows that big box stores carry are not the same size that was used in 1972. In order to make off-the-shelf windows fit, that would require construction which I'm not willing to do.

Pretty much like moving a boulder up a steep hill, and watching it slip past me and roll back down when I'd gotten halfway. Or just trying to move one that was a bit too immovable.

Felt like it, anyway...

I'd rather be herding cats (almost an injoke, as I kinda did that at the end of the day - and it worked somewhat better than whatever went on with the boulder )

(But there was cake, so "carrot on a stick" for me in regards to getting through the day )

It has been a day and it isn't even 10 AM yet.

I made a appointment with my doctor yesterday. The leg cramp thing is getting out of control. They told me to get in there ASAP. No problem, except for this morning when they sent out their stupid pre-visit questionaire thing.

They keep insisting I have Covid when I don't. I rattled off a message to my doctor telling him that I'm not playing their games today. I also told him that if they are that concerned that I'm not being honest, they can hand me a hazmat suit when I show up. Also there will be no lectures about my blood pressure. They pull this crap, then give me the side eye when I show up with a attitude. Screw them!

On a lighter note, the heating guy was here. Most of the heating vents downstairs no longer work; upstairs isn't much better. We also talked about having AC put in because I'm tired of the BS that happens with that. One room is over 90 degrees, the rooms with portable air conditioners never get below 85 degrees and then there is the mess downstairs. We have to run a dehumidifier as otherwise nasty mold starts sprouting. I want to be able to set the thermostat to 75 and be done with it. I'm so done with having to replace window AC units, draining the dehumidifier which feels like hourly when it is extra swampy, ect...

I was told I would have a estimate by the end of the day; we'll see. I liked the guy that showed up. He listened, understood, asked a few questions and was gone in less than 20 minutes.
