Ugh.....Christian and Anna were engaged. But the surprises didn't stop there....oh no....Christian and Anna had also saved up to get a house off campus together. They were LIVING together. I was livid. But Angie thought it was sweet. I demanded that they finish school and think about things before they just ran off and got married. And Christian's response was, "Ugh dad of course we're going to wait till we graduate.....we're not idiots."
Now I was against it. But I also didn't want to be the bad guy. So when Angie suggested we throw the kids an engagement party I jumped right on board and smustled with my soon to be daughter-in-law like everything was just fine. Even though in my mind it wasn't.
Christian graduated and set out to find a place for him and Anna to live in. Now Anna was a semester behind him so he had time to look for it and to find a job. So sad. The only picture I have of my son's graduate is of him locking lips with his fiance....
Anna soon followed behind him. Picture look familar? As the wedding got closer to the date (they wanted it to be in the Spring), I began to see just how much they cared about each other.....Maybe I was being a bit judgemental! I mean hadn't I felt the same way about Angelica?
Christian had found a very nice apartment in downtown Pleasantview and had also gotten a job in the natural science field. Anna moved in shortly after graduation and got a job as an artist. They were getting settled into their new life and making plans for not only the wedding, but their future as a married couple.
Anna went on the hunt for the perfect wedding dress. She knew that the colors of the wedding would be white and gold and she already had the bridesmaid dresses picked out but she was still missing the most important dress of all.....her own!
Angie took pictures of all the dresses she tried on, but for the sake of time (Grimy will be knocking pretty soon), I'm only going to put up a couple. I mean she tried on about 47 dresses. It was madness!
Christian's frat brothers took him out clubbing as an impromtu bachelor party since he told them he really didn't want one at all. They were shocked and appalled at this revelation but determined to get him out to do SOMETHING on his last night as a single man.
The big day soon arrived and everyone was so excited. My beautiful Jordan was chosen to be the flower girl. She wasn't very excited about having to walk down an aisle in a room full of people, but she did a wonderful job!
Anna and Christian decided that their sorority and fraternity sisters and brothers would make up the wedding party.....Now I'm sorry but I really don't remember the kids' names!
More of the wedding party....but I know these two.......Jane Stacks and Josh Reuben
My son looked so handsome! He was nervous, we could see it in his face, but he was also very excited. He loved every minute of it!
And this was the entire wedding party waiting on the blushing bride. We had the wedding at a little church in Pleasantview.....they did a wonderful job with the decorations.
Anna look so beautiful walking down the aisle. Her father died when she was young and so she did not have anyone to walk her down the aisle. I asked her if I could escort her but she declined saying that she wanted me to enjoy the wedding and that she knew her dad would be with her in spirit.
They were so in love! It was a joy to see and it shamed me to think of all the doubts I had about them in the beginning.
THey said their "I Do's" and he kissed the bride and we had Mr. and Mrs. Christian Taylor!
The groom and the groomsmen
The bride and her bridesmaids
I had to add this shot of AJ. He thought he was so smooth in his suit! We were really concerned about his womanizing ways, but it was hilarious to see that boy primp in a mirror!
And here we were. Our new expanded family. AJ, Christian, Anna, Angelica, me, and little Jordan sitting on the floor facing the wrong way! That child always did her own thing! I was happy, but also worried. I hoped AJ would straighten up his act when it came to women.....all we needed was another Don Lothario on our hands......
