"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Sno's ear piercing scream echoes throughout the castle, bringing with it guards, They rush into the nursery, where Sno stands, holding Anastacia.
"Queen, why did you scream?" the guards ask.
Sno turns to look at them, but cannot, tears rush from her eyes and down her cheeks. "Anastacia is dead." she squeaks. "Find Charming." she whispers.
As the guards leave, Sno craddles Anastacia's lifeless body against her. There are no obvious signs that Anastacia was intentionally hurt, but Sno cannot shake the feeling that something awful happened to her. Charming rushes into the nursery, he sees Sno cradling Anastacia.
"Sno. What's happened?" he asks looking at Anastacia in disbelief.
Sno stifles her sobs and replies, "She's gone Charming. Anastacia is dead.."
Sno hands Anastacia to Charming before falling to the floor in utter despair. Just then Esther comes into the room cradling a sleeping Brody. She stops the moment she walks into the room.
Charming looks upon Anastacia's innocent face, he traces his finger down her nose, as a tear races down his cheek.
"Do you know what happened?" Charming asks, still bewildered.
"I know I put her to bed last night, she was tired and went straight to sleep." Sno says through her sobs.
"Sno? Charming? Your Majesties? What's happened? Why are you crying?" Esther asks dreading the answer she might receive.
"Anastacia.. is..ggg.. gone.." Sno chokes out.
Esther has to steady herself as she almost drops Brody. She brings her hand to her mouth in disbelief, "Surely not." Esther disagrees. She places Brody in his crib and touches Anastacia's face. She is barely warm anymore. Almost chilled to the bone.
"This cannot be happening.." Esther says as tears then streak her face as well.
After realizing for herself that Anastacia is dead, Esther rushes to comfort Sno. But Sno pushes her away and suddenly demands,
"Where is Selena!? Find her!" She screams. "Make sure she is safe! Someone is harming the children!"
Esther and Charming leave the nursery and join the guards as they scour each and every room, but Selena is nowhere to be found. Sno stays behind in the nursery.
Charming sends his men to Regina's castle, certain she had something to do with Anastacia's death. Once there, his men find Regina alone with Selena. They ask no questions, they accept no answers. Both of them are rounded up and brought back to the palace at once. Charming is the first to see that Selena was with Regina; his blood turns cold in his veins. He gets a sick feeling in his stomach. Esther too has joined him in the entrance way of the castle, she quickly whisks Selena away to the nursery.
"Regina! Charming demands. "Come here!"
Regina walks to him. "If you wanted to see me, you could have sent me an invitation." Regina says with a laugh.
Charming is having no part of it. He glares at her.
"What did you do my daughter!" Charming demands angrily.
Regina ponders this question and smiles, "Which daughter would you be referring to." She asks smugly.
Charming has to hold his tongue back, "Anastacia." Charming says as a tear runs down his cheek.
Regina laughs and smiles. "Anastacia? I haven't done anything to Anastacia... why what's happened?" she asks sarcastically.
Charming walks right up to her and looks her straight in the eye. "
"She's dead you witch!" he yells in her face.
Regina's smile fades. She doubtingly asks, "What do you mean she's dead?"
Charming raises his eyebrows, as Sno comes down the stairs, cradling Anastacia. She slowly approaches them.
"Stepmother, she's gone." she says walking toward her.
Regina is shocked, and begins to ramble, "I never thought, I had always hoped.. this is all my .."
Charming becomes angry. "What! What was that! Spit it out! Say it again!" he orders. "You never thought what? You always hoped what!?" he demands loudly.
Regina backs away from him, then sadly replies, "I never meant for this to happen.."
"Wait, you're responsible for this!?" Sno demands. "You hurt my Anastacia!" She demands again.
Regina looks toward the ground and bites her lip. "I did not. I simply put a spell on Selena that would bring her back to me.." Regina replies with sadness in her eyes. "It was my sincere hope that my baby would come home."
Sno moves Anastacia to her shoulder and confronts Regina herself. She looks on in disbelief,
"You mean to tell me, Selena did this to Anastaica?!" She demands, shocked.
"You did this Regina, you vile woman, you truly have no heart." Charming replies. "I wish you could feel the pain we feel.. there are simply no words to describe it.." Charming continues.
Regina purses her lips and rolls her eyes. "You think this is MY fault!" she continues. "After all the warnings I gave you! After all the times I begged you to give me back my little girl! You think this is my fault!" she demands. "This is your fault, I warned you. I told you evil is born, but did you listen? Oh no. You chose to honor your Father's dying wish." She says mockingly. "He's gone. He's lost. He wouldn't know if you honored him or not! You should have given me back my child when I told you to, this never would have happened.." Regina trails.
"Regina, you make me sick! Selena was becoming a beautiful little girl, she wasn't "evil" as you say, because evil is made! You had to curse her to make her this way! Remove the curse! I am so distraught that you would stoop this low just to get what you want.." Sno spits back.
"You're a vile witch!" Charming yells pointing his finger at her.
Regina rolls here eyes and looks at Sno.
"I am Mother to you Sno! This is your curse and yours alone.. But to make sure that you understand the full nature of this curse, I curse you further! Another Daughter, you will never have. You will feel the pain I have endured these long 8 years... You want to blame someone, blame yourself. Alas, the curse cannot be removed. Selena will take her reign. She is destined to be a victorious ruler." Regina finishes before turning to leave.
Sno stands still, holding Anastacia, she peers down at her angelic face. She looks as if she is peacefully sleeping. She ponders what Regina has just said, "The curse cannot be removed." That means Brody could be next.
Without Regina's influence, Sno and Charming may have been successful in fulfilling her Father's dying wish. She might have been victorious in raising Selena to be a noble woman, with values and ambition. Who always sees the good in everyone. But with Regina's curse on her, Sno cannot risk the lives of her other children. She is faced with an impossible decision. She must give up her little sister. The little girl who has been her daughter for the past 8 years. If she doesn't, Sno fears Regina may never stop her tirade against Sno and her family.
A tear slips from her eye and stains her cheek, descending down her face.
"Wait." Sno calls. "Take Selena with you..." she chokes.
"But of course your Majesty, I'd be delighted to." Regina says with a smile.
Sno and Charming are sickened and dismayed over the turn of events, after saying goodbye to Selena, they wonder if Regina's curse will really come to pass.
Sno and Charming task the town Wood smith of fashioning a child size casket for Anastacia. Since Anastacia was not officially ordained, they do not invite the other Royals. The following morning, the family gathers to say their goodbyes, one last time...
