Complete Locking Door System: Extended

Mod Overview
This is an enhanced version of Inge Jones's classic Complete Security Door System, aka Apartment System. It allows for Sim access control on a room-by-room basis. By placing Room Tokens (which look like fire alarms) in the rooms you want to lock, you can set specific rules for entry based on age, gender, individual names, and more.

Key Improvements in this Version

• Owned Community Lots: To see or modify lock settings, you must be actively playing as the lot owner or a member of the owner's household. If you visit the lot as a customer, the lock menus will be unavailable.
• Unowned Community Lots & Other Lot Types: On all other lot types (including residential homes, apartments, unowned community lots, and hotels) the pie menu remains visible to the player regardless of which Sim is currently selected.
• Expanded Lot Support: Mod objects are available in the catalog for many lot types, including:
  • Dormitory Lots
  • Greek House Lots
  • Hotel Lots
  • Apartment Lots
  • Secret Lots
  • Additional lot types

Functionality
The system relies on a relationship between the doors and the tokens:

• Token: Place a Room Token in the specific room you want to lock.
• Controller: You may place one Security Controller (shrub or alarm) anywhere on the lot to manage Tokens lot-wide.
• Door: When a Sim attempts to walk through a door, the door checks the room they are entering for a Room Token. The Token then evaluates the Sim's data (Sim type, age, gender, etc.) against your Token settings. If the Sim is barred, they will cancel their pathing toward the door.

Advanced Tip: Supports up to 24 Named Sims
A single Token can hold up to four named Sims. However, you can allow up to 24 named Sims per room by placing up to six Tokens in the same room. Each Room Token must be assigned its own unique apartment number/color combination.

Access & Group Ban Settings

Access Settings:

• Free access: All Sims are included; this ignores named Sims or ban choices.
• No access: All Sims are excluded; this ignores named Sims or ban choices.
• Named only: Only Sims on the named Sims list are allowed; this ignores ban settings.
• Any non-banned: Allowed if they're not part of a banned group; this ignores named Sims settings.
• Non-banned plus named: Standard non-banned rules apply, but if a Sim is on the ban list and is also a named Sim, they are allowed in.
• Named if non-banned: Only named Sims are allowed, but if they match a banned group, they are excluded.
• Bar named: The only Sims excluded are those specifically on the named Sims list.
• Enable/Disable NPC override: When enabled, service NPCs pass at any time regardless of other settings.
• Enable/Disable privacy: Useful for bathrooms. If the room is already occupied, entry is barred even if the Sim is otherwise allowed.

Group Ban Settings
You can filter entry by banning one of the following groups:

• Males
• Females
• Residents
• NPCs
• Visitors
• Toddlers
• Children
• Teens
• Adults
• Elders

Installation & File Selection
Place all package files into your Downloads folder and requires at least 1 EP installed. Download the Token, at least one Controller, and the correct Patch for your game:

REQUIRED (Choose ONE Patch):

• ijSecurityPatchUN.zip - For University through Nightlife.
• ijSecurityPatchOFB.zip - For Open For Business and all later EPs.

REQUIRED (The Objects):

• JayJay55555SecurityToken.zip
• JayJay55555SecurityControllerAlarm.zip and/or JayJay55555SecurityControllerShrub.zip.

PATCH FILE ALTERNATIVE: This mod includes a Global Patch that makes standard doors security-aware. If you'd rather use the mod without a Global Patch, you can find specific hacked doors at Simlogical.

Diagonal Doors: These are not supported. Avoid using diagonal doors for rooms containing security Tokens, as they may ignore the system or become stuck.

Conflicts

• Simlogical Apartment Security System: This version adds features to the original system. Before installing, you must delete any existing copies of ijSecurityControllerAlarm.package, ijSecurityControllerShrub.package, and ijSecurityToken.package.
• Pescado's Authorized Personnel Only: If you're using the Global Patch, these two systems will conflict. You must choose between my mod or Pescado's system.
  • Alternative Solution: You can remove the Global Patch file and instead use the modified doors found at Simlogical to allow both systems to coexist.

Technical Support & Heritage
The original code from Inge Jones has been preserved as much as possible. Consequently, if you have questions regarding general logic or features (other than the new pie menu behavior or community lot availability), you can often find answers by searching for information about the original Simlogical mod.
