Hi everyone!

After the automatically closing blinds and shutters, it is finally time for my first set of automatic curtains! This is a completely new object which is not derived from any EA object.

About This Content
These curtains are open only during the day (6AM - 6PM). At night (6PM - 6AM) they are automatically closed and prevent curious sims from peeking into your home!

There are seven different curtain forms:
  • 1x1 curtain opening to the left and right ("1x1_double")
  • 1x1 short curtain opening to the left and right ("1x1_double_short")
  • 1x1 curtain opening to the left ("1x1_left")
  • 1x1 curtain opening to the right ("1x1_right")
  • 2x1 curtain opening to the left and right ("2x1_double")
  • 2x1 short curtain opening to the left and right ("2x1_double_short")
  • 3x1 curtain opening to the left and right ("3x1_double")



Facts
The curtains can all be found under "Decor" > "Curtains & Blinds" or "Bathroom"/"Dining Room" > "Curtains & Blinds". The mechanism behind the curtains comes from the Supernatural EP , however, they seem to work without the EP as well. Thank you, arinabean, for the hint!

How does this work?
The curtains all use the "Commonwealth Court" painting, which was added with the Supernatural EP, as a base. If you're not familiar with it, the image in the painting changes based on the time of day. These different images are represented by geostates. For example, bookshelves also use different geostates - based on how many books have been added to the shelf, the shelf is displayed slightly different in-game.

These curtains use the geostates to decide what parts or faces of the object are displayed, making the curtains appear either open or closed. As with the painting, the game then automatically selects a geostate depending on the time of day.
