Obviously this is a big and expensive lot, at $1M+, 5x6 and 11 floors (including the roof), none of that should be a big surprise, but just be forewarned anyways. There are also quite a few fountains, whose animation can slow things down some, though there shouldn’t be much else in the way of animated objects to slow performance down.
I’ve uploaded two versions of this lot (an apartment and residential configuration). These are almost identical, but there’s a couple reasons I thought it still worth including both.
-First, because of how the game handles object hiding in inactive apartment units, various areas throughout the lot, especially the huge rotunda at the summit, will look very odd if not part of an active unit, since the columns that are the only thing holding up the roofs will visually disappear. If this is too much of a distraction for you and you’re only interested in Mount Olympus itself anyways, you’re probably better off with the residential configuration.
-Second, you may notice there’s multiple external staircases within the Mount Olympus apartment unit, which would ordinarily create apartment unit boundary problems. The apartment configuration uses the hidden Maxis invisible fence around the top of each applicable staircase (massive thanks to HugeLunatic for putting me onto that trick!) so they’re still CC-free and considered “contained” by walls and the apartment will function, but this can lead to some weird behavior if you’re trying to remodel those areas. So if you want to make any major Build Mode changes, just know that those railings are present in the apartment configuration but NOT in the residential configuration, and decide which version to remodel accordingly.
I’ve done fairly extensive playtesting of this lot, and I think all routing decisions should be about as logical as it’s possible to make them, and interactable objects should be able to be reached without issue. I think I’ve even checked all the things placed on diagonals to make sure things like the crafting station still work that way, and they do. Mortal Achaean apartments range from $2,417 to $6,829 a week, and Olympus itself is a sky-high $20,742 a week.
Screenshots with active animations were taken on the clone I used for playtesting. Both apartment and residential configurations as uploaded have never been visited by Sims, and should be clean of any unwanted references.
I think that’s all the technical stuff, so you should be able to drop this into your neighborhood for your chosen lineup of gods and goddesses and get into all the Real Housewives of Mount Olympus drama you want! Or you can keep reading for my own take on the absurd stories a place like this is suited for…
Rosy-fingered Dawn appeared above high Olympus, spreading daylight across the lands. She awakened the animals and children of the bright-eyed Greeks in their farms. And she awakened the farmers and merchantmen of the towns and palaces. And she awakened the Olympians themselves in their palaces on lofty Olympus. There upon the seat of the gods, heavenly Aphrodite sat by the splashing pool, her divine gaze upon the fields and towns at the mountain’s feet.
“Lovely Aphrodite, what draws your eyes away from the splendor of high Olympus?” asked cloud-gathering Zeus, having descended from his seat at the summit of Olympus. “Are the marble halls and golden thrones of our home no longer pleasing to your mind?” Heavenly Aphrodite turned and faced Zeus, father of gods and men. “No great king, the wonders of lofty Olympus are beyond count, and nothing could diminish her glory. But I grow bored of the games of the gods, and wish to amuse myself with the mortals whose offerings rise to high Olympus on the smoke from their temples.”
Loud-thundering Zeus shouted with laughter, and gestured with his hands over the surrounding farms and villages. “The mortals that surround our divine seat are known to many of us gods in many forms. They pray to us for boons or blessings, and know that they may draw our attention at times. From the sailors upon the wine-dark sea to the daughters of farmers toiling upon the life-giving earth, take whatever joy you like in their lives and their loves if you will. Just see that you take care not to let your games once again grow so large as when once they drew the Sons of Atreus to Troy and left so many Achaean dead on the plains of Ilium.”
Shameless Aphrodite smiled, ever heedless of the warnings of Zeus, father of gods and men, and rose from the pool, her divine gaze drawn towards a farm near to the eastern shoulder of immortal Olympus.
Heavenly Aphrodite first looked upon Kallisto, daughter of Parthenius. Lonely Kallisto was much beloved of her father, and he had sworn that no man within seven days’ walk was suited for his daughter’s hand. So she sat lonely through her days, sending prayers to the gods that she might find love. The smoke rising from her offerings had reached fair Aphrodite by the pool, and she sought to find a match for lonely Kallisto. Many bright-eyed young men in the nearby towns sought her company, and many had themselves prayed to Aphrodite for aid, for she had no want of suitors.
But shameless Aphrodite instead looked upon strong Aetios, toiling in the vineyards below immortal Olympus’s western shoulder. Aetios Apollodorus was strong of arm and quick of wit. Yet during days his mind was ever bent towards the work of his vines and cellars, and during nights he was found sitting alone beneath a fig tree with his lyre carved from the shell of a great tortoise, forgoing the pleasures of drink or the company of his fellow men and women. Many lovely-haired young women in the nearby towns dreamed of him and had likewise prayed to Aphrodite for aid, for he too had no want of suitors.
Laughter-loving Aphrodite waited until a day came when lonely Kallisto had gone to wander her father’s fields, and fair Aetios sat beneath the tree plucking his lyre. Then shameless Aphrodite persuaded fresh-blowing Zephyr to carry the wind such that the music of skillful Aetios would reach lonely Kallisto in the fields. Hearing the music on the wind, golden-haired Kallisto began to seek its source. She left her father’s fields and climbed over the fence following the melody.
It so happened that elsewhere on high Olympus, far-working Apollo sat listening to skillful Aetios play upon his lyre. It had pleased him that Aetios’s melodies be played each evening, and he had blessed Aetios Apollodorus with godly talent upon his instrument, that he might better enjoy his music. Lord Apollo thus was displeased to hear the melodies of the lyre cut short, and looked down from his seat upon high Olympus to see what had interrupted skillful Aetios in his playing.
There below him, he saw golden-haired Kallisto approaching fair Aetios from the edge of the fields. Aetios sat beneath the fig tree watching her approach. “And who are you, good lady, that comes from the fields rather than from the town as the other women of Argos are wont to?” Lonely Kallisto stood before him, the divine melody still echoing in her ears. “I am Kallisto, daughter of Parthenius, good man. I heard the music of your playing as I walked the fields below lofty Olympus, and it seems to me that you must be blessed by Phoebus Apollo, so skilled are you at your playing.”
On immortal Olympus, far-working Apollo looked on, enraged that his music had been interrupted by the intervention of shameless Aphrodite, and he shouted for her to come. Watching from her own high balcony on lofty Olympus, she ignored his shouts. Lord Apollo raged again, and sought to find shameless Aphrodite himself.
Lord Apollo stormed into the chambers of heavenly Aphrodite. The goddess sat, watching the laughing mortals now sitting near together beneath the fig tree, and ignored the furious entrance of Apollo son of Zeus. “Skillful Aetios was mine, vain and foolish goddess! I kept him from the young men and women of Argos that I might enjoy his music without distraction. Yet now he sits in laughter with Kallisto, his lyre forgotten on the dust!”
Laughter-loving Aphrodite did not turn away from the farms beneath immortal Olympus’s western flank. “See the passion between them though! It would be waste to keep them from one another, just for the sound of a few notes from his lyre! The daughter of Parthenius looks upon noble Aetios with such fawning gaze, and noble Aetios upon her with such rapture. Let him play upon his instrument for her joy if he will, and not just your own, jealous son of Zeus-” before being quelled by the heat of the enraged gaze of Lord Apollo.
Lord Apollo spoke with wrath. “My gift to him was for my own enjoyment and not for other mortals, shameless Aphrodite! And now his eyes and hands will be drawn to play upon Kallisto daughter of Parthenius, and his lyre and music forgotten.” Laughter-loving Aphrodite’s gaze turned dark, and she rose to face Lord Apollo herself.
“Know you that Zeus, father of gods and men, gave his blessing that I might amuse myself with the mortals beneath high Olympus! And if I choose that lonely Kallisto be drawn to skilled Aetios because their love pleases me, I will see them together! Find another young man among the bright-eyed Greeks to bestow your gifts upon, if the lyre-playing of mortals is of such importance to you, vain Apollo!” Thus spoke heavenly Aphrodite in her fury.
The gods continued to strive against one another on high Olympus, now forgetting of both the will of Zeus, father of gods and men, or of the prayers of mortals sending offerings up to the divine mount. On the life-giving earth, golden-haired Kallisto and skilled Aetios lay together beneath the fig tree, enjoying the company of one another until Nyx drew her darkened chariot across the sky, at which time they retreated together into the house of skilled Aetios. Laughter-loving Aphrodite had won her victory in pairing the two mortals together for her enjoyment. But despite Lord Apollo having lost the music of skilled Aetios that had been bestowed upon him by the god, it is said that when fresh-blowing Zephyr causes the winds to blow through the fig trees beneath lofty Olympus, the plucking of a lyre can sometimes be heard even to this day.

About Me
You might call me a CC-atheist. While I'll use every cheat code in the book, I won't use anything that Maxis didn't ship with the game in one fashion or another. Ergo, you can rest assured that all my lots are CC-free.
Some creators describe themselves as constantly juggling projects. I suppose I do that too, except I'm really really bad at juggling, so I just throw lots of projects as high as I can, and sometimes forget all about them until they come crashing down on my head!
I won't *exactly* do requests, but since I pivot from lot to lot constantly, if there's a place you hope to see from me, there's a good chance that I've already started it! I make no promises, but feel free to ask about lots you want to see- you might inspire me to finish something!
My lots are my own work- I put a lot of effort into them, so have fun with them, use them for storytelling or making Sim movies, but please don't reupload them, in whole or in part, anywhere, including here on MTS!
One day I will rule the world with an iron fist and all will kneel before me.
