Renting Furnished:

You must use a cheat to have the units furnished when your sims move in!

By default, all furnishings except for basics (counters, plumbing, appliances, wall and ceiling lights, etc.) will disappear when you move your playable sims in (except for the upstairs stuff in the two bedroom unit - I have no idea why). This is extremely annoying. Therefore, if you would like to rent any of the units furnished, you MUST do the following:
  • Move your family into the lot.
  • Before they choose an apartment, CTRL-SHIFT-C to bring up the cheat menu.
  • Enter the following cheat: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true
  • Walk your sim to the front door of the unit you would like to rent. They need to be standing directly in front of the door.
  • SHIFT-click on the front door. You will see three menu options pop up.
  • Choose "Rent Furnished Apartment"
  • CTRL-SHIFT-C to bring up the cheat menu.
  • Turn off the cheat again by typing: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled false

If the action to rent the apartment falls out of your sim's queue/disappears, your sim needs to be closer to the door, with no other actions clogging up their queue.
