Lenny Drae Trailer from Volkonir - v.3
This lot is categorized in-game as a Tiny Living Residential Lot, and a Tier 3 at that. 74/100 tiles placed.
UPDATE NOTES: With the release of Eco Lifestyle, feel free to replace the stairway to the hidden bunker with a ladder. Future supported builds elsewhere will include the ladder. That pack also unlocks solar panel options for the roof, which would also add realism, and allow Lenny to be more off-the-grid, and a little harder for the NSA to track. Adding the dew collector and Off-the-Grid trait would help as well. Lenny uses very little water, and shouldn't require much electricity to run his trailer either. The bunker uses more energy than anything else.
Backstory
After defeating the kingdom of Cortascia on the planet Cortascius, the evil King Gwirmalesh of Gwirdonia and his Gwirdon minions set their sights on Earth. But they needed, for various complicated reasons, to hibernate for about 400 years. Now, they've been awakened, and their fears have been realized: Earth is more advanced than anticipated. Their new loyalists and cult following will need time to infiltrate Washington and advance the coming of Gwirmalesh's invasion. In the mean time, he seeks to advance his influence beyond just a bunker located inside Chestnut Mountain in Montana. He has set his sights on conquering the city of Bozeman. But to do so and ward off any National Guard interference, he needs certain inventions created by local corporate conglomerate HanomCorp.
Much to Gwirmalesh's dread, he discovers that not all the Cortascians lied down and died after their king was defeated. Prince Volkonir is somehow alive and well - with the henshin Golden Lion Knight armor still functioning. Worse: Volkonir is now employed by Dr. Fred Hanom, the CEO of HanomCorp! Which means...the prince-turned-security guard can now use HanomCorp tech to upgrade his arsenal and fleet of vehicles, to become a better knight. Defending a modern corporation's hold in Bozeman, rather than a castle!
However, there are others Hanom has tried to recruit who also have ties to the fallen Cortascian kingdom - and would be eager to defeat Gwirmalesh and restore Cortascia to its former glory, while making sure the Gwirdons never get their chance to conquer the Multiverse!
Two of those exceptional individuals are Kayla Tarington - whom Gwirmalesh's general Hiktomoph when to great lengths to get sent to prison - and Carlos Modi, who became aware on his own of Cortascian relics hidden on Earth, and seeks to use his knew knowledge and path to forge a destiny for himself apart from his family's notorious links to Mexican druglords.
Kayla and Carlos have been recovered, and now assist "Vinny Mason" in his crusade to protect Bozeman from Gwirmalesh's monsters. But there was another that Hanom was interested in recruiting - who simply vanished.
That someone, was Lenny Drae.
Lenny had no clue that he was destined to become the future Silver Ferret Cortascian Elite Knight, replacing the fallen ancient warrior Reelo Rumastik. Likewise, Kayla had no idea she was destined to replace Silnya Semaphry as the Crystal Swan Knight, nor Carlos that he'd replace Horzhed Crimazol as the Red Serpent Knight. For the time being, all they knew was that Volkonir was still alive.
It frustrated the team, that they were unable to find "Connection Gray." But there was a side story to that too.
Lenny and his family were once suburbia to the max; but an unfortunate discovery by Lenny's younger brother Terrence that "a green mosquito alien" was impersonating a state senator led to Bruktamiph ordering the Gwirdon Treaders to assassinate the entire Drae family. Lenny and his parents survived the ambush; but Robert Drae's propensity to use improvised weapons didn't sit too well with his more liberal-voting neighbors. The FBI quickly descended on the scene, and made sure that the green, buglike beings that attacked the Draes' home in Illinois quickly vanished. The story was covered up, with a total media blackout. Robert was sent to prison, and details of his incarceration were kept in the dark - even to his family. No lawyer, court date, trial, anything. Simply vanished.
And worse: Marsha Drae was threatened, simply for asking questions about her husband's case! She began studying up on the dark web, to find out anything she could about Gwirdons - and taught Lenny how to do the same. Lenny learned to code, in as many languages as possible. He became fascinated by HanomCorp, Gwirdons, Cortascius, anything he could. Rumors that Volkonir had been sighted restored to humanoid form in Big Rapids in 2008 lit up several dark web sites.
In 2002, a 14-year-old Lenny was forced to flee home, as CPS came to abduct him from his mother for unclear reasons. (Unclear to the courts, who went along with it anyway.) He learned 3 years later that his mother had been murdered behind bars, for allowing him to escape and encouraging him to run away. He suspected it was a contract hit.
Lenny fled westward, where he was taken in by a band of survivalists. Said survivalists were skeptical about the Gwirdons; but they shared Lenny's hatred for bureaucracy. They taught him the ways of doomsday prepping, hunting, fishing, living off the land, and staying mostly out of sight. Lenny vowed to continue his mother's crusade, and foil Gwirmalesh's evil plans by exposing Gwirmalesh's government patsies. In time, he moved to the outskirts of Corral Creek in Beaverhead County, Montana, near the border with Idaho. He did his best to stay a very private individual. He liked that there weren't a whole lot of federal agents out there in the wilderness to bother him.
Having earned enough through online work to build up private stashes, he only sometimes had to travel to Monida or Dubois for supplies.
Lenny may not have been a very spiritual individual; but he found that his time alone in the woods gave him a lot of time to think - when he wasn't working via satellite internet feed. He eventually shared his location with a few likeminded friends, and they built a bunker to hide in. To make the bunker and its intentions slightly less obvious, they created a wooden shed facade around it. They also parked their trailer homes in front of the wooden shed, and only entered the bunker when they felt a genuine need to hide - such as if the sensors they put up around their area detected the presence of feds.
When not traveling for work - which he seldom had to - Lenny was mostly either hunting, fishing, or toiling away at some dark web or coding-related project on his laptop. His friends were gone more often than he was, since they were less likely than Lenny to be on a watchlist. They would do grocery runs when necessary, sometimes fetching a few for Lenny so he wouldn't have to travel. They even ran their accounts through a dummy address in Monida, to keep the IRS from tracking them and ruining their privacy.
So for much of his life, from 2006 until 2015, Lenny lived mostly alone, even with two neighbors nearby. It was just him, his beliefs, his connections, and his trailer. He became very proud of that trailer, especially.
Alas, it was all only temporary. Too many of Gwirmalesh's patsies were being exposed, and that jeopardized Gwirmalesh with having his hideout discovered! Hiktomoph could only tie up so many loose ends, and Gwirmalesh's focus was now divided between conquering Bozeman nearby, and handling his forces' new Tokyo operation. With help from a particular patsy of his - Terrence Hoshijo - Gwirmalesh was able to finally get past the firewalls and learn of Lenny's location - and get the patsies in law enforcement to cook up the same list of excuses as they did for Robert.
A short battle ensued, as militarized federal agents descended on the makeshift trailer park. They took bunker busters to the shed, first and foremost, leaving Lenny and his friends with no bunker to escape to. They then systematically destroyed the trailers, and killed Lenny's two friends. Like his father before, Lenny got no court date, lawyer, or trial. Vanished. Into federal prison. He was unsure if Obama were in on it or not; but he quickly found himself getting along well with similarly-abducted family members of Oregon protestors - who believed Obama was behind everything bad in the world.
Lenny was later rescued by the Trump administration, after a similarly-abducted Carlos brought matters to their attention near the end of Rise of Semaphry. Lenny would get an upgrade to a science lab home on Cortascius, after a revived King Morlikus appointed him to become the new Silver Ferret Knight. While Lenny loved the new planet, government, house, and science lab given to him; he would always miss his days in the trailer home he made for himself.
Lenny's trailer
As mentioned in the story above, Lenny's trailer is the main living area. There is a bunker hidden beneath the wooden shed facade, which doubles as a secondary residence. Two or three Sims can live on this lot comfortably, as it's designed to be a Tiny Residential. However, the central trailer is the main residential area, designed to accommodate one or two Sims max at a time.
Bunker
The bunker is intended for paranoid Sims to hide in. Lock privileges are essential here. One Sim may sleep comfortably down in the bunker at a time. The lighting and textures are meant to resemble some of the prepper stash bunkers in Far Cry 5, which was used as inspiration for this lot.
Garden
Lenny has his own garden area. It's fairly small at the moment, but it's there. You can delete the fake decoration trailers I've placed if you'd like to have a larger garden, if your own survivalist Sims aren't concerned as much about using friends as shields.
Gameplay
In tests I've run so far, routing is fairly solid. Alas, the Murphy bed will only allow one Sim to use it, in spite being a double. I'm surprised Murphy Twin cabinets weren't included. Lenny would definitely use one of those if it were an option.
Setting
While this lot will work for any plot of land 20x20 or larger, the one in Windenburg is ideal for it.
Gallery
This lot is also available in the Gallery, if you would prefer to download from there. So far, it's received compliments for how well the lot is staged.
Console
This lot should be accessible for XBox One and PS4 players via the Gallery as of February 4th, following the release of Tiny Living for console then. Mind the pack requirements. Feedback on console playability is much appreciated.
Lot Size: 20x20
Lot Price (furnished): 48,515
Lot Price (unfurnished): 16,555
Additional Credits:
Special thanks to the dev team of Far Cry 5, who inspired the aesthetics of this lot's bunker.
Update 1/24/2020, 10:16 AM EST: More screenshots have been added, for the diurnally insistent. I also added one night shot, to see the tail lights on of Lenny's main trailer. Bear in mind: these lights are usually off, as he seldom travels anywhere with his trailer in tow. The basement is shown in white light in the added screenshots, though the darker colored lights are canon.
Update 2/12/2020: I have (almost) my entire Volkonir save file copied over to PS4 for testing. Lack of support for mods notwithstanding, everything seems to work like a dream. Some lag on loading screens and CAS not found on the PC version, but environments on console are crisper. And animations are smoother.
