This is a custom lot in package format that aims to enhance the vanilla Goth Manor in Sunset Valley.

The vanilla Goth Manor is impressive in that it successfully conveys a Gothic atmosphere, although it isn’t perfect. There are issues such as roofs clipping into rooms, and I personally can’t stand that dark balcony next to the master bedroom (I hope you know what I mean). The biggest issue, however, is architectural: in a traditional building like this, the walls on the upper floor should align with those on the lower floor to properly support the structure, but the vanilla design didn’t follow this rule. Once this was corrected, the exterior naturally changed as well.

The revised layout introduces a square tower at the centre, which houses a staircase connecting all floors. That said, one could argue that the vanilla plan—where the second floor is only accessible via a stair hidden behind a door in the master bedroom—adds a stronger sense of privacy. In addition, an empty dungeon has been added, along with secret rooms intended for vampire Sims.

The core of Gothic sentiment lies in sublimity and a symbolic gesture toward the sky. My work strengthens this feeling while preserving the original values of the lot—for example, the pale shingles made by EA for the exterior walls are absolutely amazing. I focused mainly on the building itself, leaving the landscape almost untouched due to its beauty, with the exception of the bridge, which I modified for improvement. I also redesigned the interior furnishings to feel more “Victorian,” meaning an emphasis on wooden craftsmanship throughout.

Neo-Gothic architecture represents the dignity and refinement of high architecture of its time, rather than the creepiness often associated with portrayals like The Addams Family. It is a demanding style, and vanilla content can barely achieve it on its own; the Midnight Hollow expansion pack was essential in helping to realise this vision.

You will see the lot preset when you open Edit Town mode. The price should be affordable for the Goth family after selling the vanilla lot—allowing you to offer them this genuine landmark of the town!
