Warm Gray UI for The Sims 2 Legacy Collection
A cleaner, more neutral take on the original Sims 2 interface

About

This is my take on a cleaner and more neutral UI for The Sims 2.

Unlike some of the more extensive UI replacements currently available, this recolor keeps more of the shapes, bevels, layout, and overall character of the original game. My goal was to make the interface feel calmer and less dominated by blue and purple without completely redesigning it or making it feel disconnected from The Sims 2.

Most of the original blue and purple interface elements have been converted to a brighter warm gray. The game’s original green selection and status colors have been retained so that the other functional colors still feel cohesive.

Please Note

This is the first public version of the project. The interface contains a very large number of individual textures and scripts, so there may still be a few odd colors, inconsistent elements, or other small visual issues.

I will probably continue working on it as I find more things that need adjustment. If you notice something unusual, a screenshot showing the affected interface would be very helpful.

Installation

Extract the zip and place:

TS2Legacy_WarmGrayUI_v9.package

inside:

Code: 
Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\Downloads\z_WarmGrayUI\


You can create the z_WarmGrayUI folder if it does not already exist.

Make sure custom content is enabled, then completely restart the game.

Compatibility

This version was created from and tested with the English Steam release of The Sims 2 Legacy Collection.

Other editions and languages have not been tested.

Do not use this together with another complete UI replacement or recolor, since both packages may override the same resources. This includes mods such as Clean UI, Starship UI, Pink UI, and similar full-interface replacements.

Removal

Delete TS2Legacy_WarmGrayUI_v9.package from your Downloads folder. The mod does not replace or modify the original game files.

Feedback

This is still an evolving project, so feedback and screenshots are welcome. I hope this offers a useful middle ground for players who want a cleaner interface while keeping more of the original Sims 2 look and personality.
