Income Tracking Mod

Hey all,

Here's a mod that I made a little while back for my Build-A-City Challenges. 😊 This is going to get a little bit nerdy so buckle in, but the TLDR is that this mod allows you to check and/or track how much money a sim has earned in their lifetime, or in a sim week.

In BACC's, sims often need to pay "taxes". In Australia, our taxes are often based on our yearly taxable income. In my Sims 2 BACC hoods, I wanted to implement a similar system where sims get taxed on their income every sim-week, which is how often my sims get taxed. (I also play 7 day seasons).

I used to try and track every dollar a sim earned in my spreadsheet, which worked okay. Then I learned how to mod, lol.

So I've updated the SimWardrobe Chequebook mod to include 2 new options:
1. Check personal Wealth
2. Track my income.

These interactions utilize a hidden token which every sim has inside their inventory, the "Personal Wealth Token". Almost every single time a sim earns any money in The Sims 2, that wealth token is updated. It is how the game keeps track of wants such as "earn $100" or "earn $1000", as well as lifetime wants for earning $100,000, for example.

"Check Personal Wealth" gives you a popup telling you how much that particular sim has earned over their entire lifetime, by extracting that information from their token.

"Track my income" will store the current amount the sim has earned on an off-world object. On a Monday at 5am the mod will then automatically check the sim's personal wealth token again, do maths, and let you know how much money they earned that week, suggesting that it might be time to pay taxes.

You can track as many sims within the family as you like.

And that's it, that's the mod. The actual tax payment is not automatic, so it's up to you to complete that. I tend to use the chequebook to send a cheque to the town banker, but you do you!

2. The modern and medieval versions of the chequebook, with my updates. Simply replace the "Part 1" of the Chequebook to use my updates.

The version of the chequebook I have updated is the Honeywell version, which allows a sim to stand and write a cheque.
