Expanded Employees Selection for Your Business [UPDATED 2026-08-19]

I was tired to have my choice of employees to hire so limited, to only 5 per day... and usually all of them were either playables with jobs I wanted to keep, or locals from vacation hoods.

So I went in the other direction, and expanded the pool to choose from to ALL sims in the hood and subhoods. The modded limit is 10,000 so unless your game has more than 10,000 sims in it, you'll have them all to choose from.



I've made a few versions, just so it's less annoying to scroll them all if you only want, for example, to just avoid vacation sims (like me). Choose only one version, they're not compatible with each other. I've left the Garden Club in all the versions anyway, because they're just 5 sims, don't clog up the list significatively.

Every version, however, keeps the original, basic limitation: not allowing Service NPCs, Hobby Mavens, deads, employees in other businesses, young adults, babies, toddlers, children, and the Reporter.

Since the possible combinations are many, I've made a few that I think might be more interesting than others. Feel absolutely free to modify them yourself if you have at least some basic knowledge of SimPE (I've left the list of families lined up one after the other - bad programming style, but it's easier to read and modify even if you're not proficient). Or, you're more than welcome to ask for any different combination of sim families to customize the mod according to your preferences.

UPDATE 2026-08-19

There's a conflict with simler90's Business Mod; specifically because their mod already includes modifications to the list of hireable sim families (vacation locals, tourists and lower rank of social groups), so I've made a couple of fixes and I'll message simler90 for suggestions.

  • marhis+simler90fix-business-anyonecanbehired+novacation-all -- fully compatible with simler90's Business Mod as is.
  • zmarhis+simler90fix39-business-anyonecanbehired-novac-nosg -- no vacation sims, no social groups; version 39 of simler90's mod.

Replace my old mod with the corresponding, fixed, one and you're good to go.
For other combinations, I need further testing and maybe find a better workaround.

In any case I'll keep an eye for simler90's further updates, if any, and I'll update my fixes accordingly.
