CHANGES
2025-11-07: Hopefully fixed the LE's issue for the situation loot. Also added more force to make the neighbour knock on your front door, instead of spawning and then never moving outside their hidden unit/apartment.



ABOUT
For Rent did a really good job in making sure shared spaces have depth, however, I have intense nostalgia issues so I wanted every possible City Living situation from the old apartment system to be integrated into the new one :D

This mod merges both Residential Rental and Apartment lot schedules (as well as some rental interactions from For Rent, not all of them, as I'm planning on doing more "unlocking")

Possible For Rent events :
  • Sims spawning to Garden
  • Sims spawning to do Gym activities
  • Sims spawning to do Laundry (I made several adjustments to laundry situations as I noticed in vanilla game sims leave mid laundry and if they're lucky enough to finish it, they fold their laundry and leave it in the shared space... for you? It's not a perfect fix but it works 5 times out of 10 which is more than 0)
  • Parents spawning with their kids (fun fact: this is the first and probably only time an actual lot has infants and toddlers show up that aren't your own!)
  • Neighbors spawning to go to the pool (I edited so if there is no pool they don't spawn, cause ew)
  • Sims spawning for "general" situations (whatever that means, I assume they'll interact with anything that's interactable, from sitting to whatnot)
  • Neighbor pets spawning (caveat is that in small tight common areas in Apartments, pets don't walk anywhere and stay in the hidden apartment, so maybe try to place down with TOOL mod some kind of objects for pets to interact with, not pet bowls 'cause in my save those vanish somehow)
  • Basic amenities (if there's a shower, fridge, toilet, oven, bathtub, sims will spawn to use them)

I recommend using the TOOL mod by TwistedMexi to place down things like couches/laundry objects/planters/gym equipment, etc to get the full range of all activities.

If you use an apartment trait unlock mod, these two traits affect neighbor noise probability:
Lively Neighbors - increases 3 times the chances for neighbor situations to happen (doors with hearts, music notes or swear signs popping up).
Quiet - prohibits the situations completely.

Possible City Living events :
  • Neighbor wanting to use your shower
  • Neighbor smelling your cooking and asking for an invitation
  • Sims with the Erratic/Goofball trait coming uninvited
  • Group hangouts (game time, pre-party)
  • Neighbour Hangouts (geek out, workout, child play, munchies?? (idk what this means but it happens with Glutton/Foodie neighbors),
  • Brainstrom by Art Lover/Creative trait sims or sims you've given your residence key to, game time)
  • Sims spawning to go to "work" or school (caveat is that they might spawn for rental situations from home even tho you just saw them leaving for "work".... EA and its immersion )
  • Mailman spawning to give fake mail to neighboring mailboxes, neighbors spawning to go through their mail (I also included a fix so the wall mailbox object stop showing you interactions on neighbor assigned mailboxes)
  • Ghosts spawning if there's a spooky lot challenge at nighttime
  • Neighbors going to the trash chute to take out their trash

KNOWN ISSUES
Make sure every front door from all units is facing the shared space, otherwise, you will have neighbor noises showing the effects into the inside of the hidden units and that ends with routing errors, the events were designed with us not being able to make our own buildings lol

REQUIREMENTS
CORE LIBRARY
For Rent and City Living are both required. This mod will work additionally for Eco Lifestyle apartments as well, but CL is required for the mod itself to work.
