Commodity Modifiers Reworked:
The commodity modifiers have been moved from the visible buffs (Fed by the Moon and Lunar Lethargy) to the hidden EA New Moon buffs.

Full Moon Tooltip Updated:
The fairy full moon tooltip now clearly explains FFBTM’s lunar mechanics, replacing the vague vanilla description.

The Everdew Lake Falls Silent:
The lake in the Everdew can no longer be used under a new moon.
When the moon goes dark, the waters do too.

Starseed Teleporter Restriction:
The Starseed Teleporter can no longer be used under a new moon.
(How this one slipped past me for so long is beyond me.)

Fixed several SimData entries that were incorrectly tagged to the wrong DLC. These are now properly listed as Base Game.
Restored the New Moon energy cost penalty from vanilla gameplay, and increased it from +20% → +30% for a stronger lunar fatigue effect.
Added custom icons for the moodlets “Fed by the Moon” and “Lunar Lethargy,” improving readability and visual consistency.

Challenge Moon Balance Adjustments:
Emotional Force drains 50% faster.
Fun decays 40% faster.
Energy decays 60% faster.

New Full Moon Buff:
Fairies gain “Fed By The Moon!” (+2 Happy) during the full moon.
Emotional Force no longer decays.
Fun decay reduced by 30%.
Energy decay reduced by 50%.

Reworked New Moon Moodlet:
“Lunar Lethargy” has been updated to mirror the full moon effects.
+1 Sad moodlet.
Emotional Force decays 30% faster.
Fun decays 30% faster.
Energy decays 50% faster.

Fairy Dust Adjustments:
Rations are doubled during the full moon.
No rations can be collected during the new moon.

Nature Restrictions at New Moon:
Fairy Dust can’t enchant plants or gnomes.
Fairy Seedlings can’t be planted.

Fairies get a +1 sad moodlet when it's a new moon called "Lunar Lament." They're also unable to collect fairy dust rations when it's a new moon. The mod now has a second variant called "Challenge Moon." Challenge Moon makes fairy magic with a "Very High" cost be lethal to cast under a new moon.

I was a dude on reddit with an idea for a mod, and screamed loud enough till someone coached me through it. Shoutout to u/WanderingUrist.

So yeah, this is a simple tuning file. With this mod fairies will not lose emotional force when using magic, but emotional force is still REQUIERED to cast magic. Your fairy can age sims up for free, as long as their emotional force meets the threshold. Emotional force still drains passively, and how fast or slow it drains still depends on the moon phases. Works just like vanilla, that part hasn't changed.

The only exception is the new moon.

Under a new moon, fairy magic will cost emotional force. They won't be able to spend 5 fairy dust to regenerate emotional force either. When the moon goes dark, the fae get hungry!

Potential Conflicts with Other Mods: This mod will likely conflict with anything that messes with Fairy power cost loot actions, or The Regenerate Emotional Appetite interaction. So long as you don't mess with those, you should be good.




But like, yeah. This is the mod. Hope you have fun with it...
