The Overhang

Greetings simmers! Second house going up on MTS. As with my previous upload, please let me know if anything is wrong with the house as far as playability goes! This house has been tested for placement of MOST items, there may be one or two that have not been tested, but to my knowledge everything should be accessible and sims won't be shaking their fists at your omnipotent self!

Brief:
Design a home (inclusive of landscaping) in an ocean-side vein, for a larger family, on a small lot, while maximizing living quality and use of space.

Demographic:
This house is ideal for a larger family of up to six members, give or take, or as a shared living space for a group of young house-mates. Sims looking to purchase and live on this property will require a stable financial income for the necessary upkeep.

The open-plan dining room is directly adjacent to the living room, with an expansive view of the garden and pool. It receives the most light during the early mornings, when you're just about to have your breakfast, mmm. The overall design and decoration is cool and relaxing, with light blues and pale wood furnishings.



Pictured above is the study, or recreation room. There is an easel and guitar for the more artistic sims; however, the versatile nature of this extra room means it can be converted into another bedroom, a games room, a second television room, or even a treasure room. Earthy dark plum accents add an interesting contrast to the neutral wall and wood colours.



Arguably the best snapshot that I have ever taken, but that's owing to the beautiful setting of the lot I picked for the house. The master bedroom offers a stunning view of the beach in this case, equipped with all the standard necessities, decorated in a bright and airy palette of creams and yellows.

Additional Comments:
Included with the above screen shots are the floor plans, which you can see below, as well as a collage of smaller images of various rooms in the house. If you can't tell already, my favourite is the master bedroom one, it just looked so perfect and apparently I'm attracted to lots with lamp posts right outside >.>

Special Notices:
I designed the house intentionally for the 9 Sun Song Avenue lot, which means it would probably look and play most suitably there, and I tested it to confirm that you WILL get the Beautiful Vista moodlet if this house is placed on that particular lot. HOWEVER this doesn't mean that it can't go on any 20 x 30 lot, au contraire
