The Mitra Remodelled

Back in early 2014, I decided I wanted more vacation homes for the BV vacation destinations. I love taking my Sims on vacation, and hotels get old quickly. I like my vacation homes to fit the hood and themed lots are not my forte, so off to MTS I went. I found a rather wonderful modern-style lot that seemed so perfect for Twikki Islands, I just had to have it. The lot was The Mitra, by Saturnfly.

I love everything about it. The airy feel of the buildings, the two houses, the pool, the trees. But, I've never liked playing multi-floor buildings, so I decided to re-model it and put the main house on ground floor as well. I built it for me, but I really liked the end result, so after much debating I decided to ask Saturnfly if it would be okay for me to upload it. Much to my surprise, she agreed! So, this is my remodelled version of The Mitra.

I have kept the external structure of the houses, but the main house has been mirrored and placed on the ground. The interior has elements from the old lot, but in varying degrees and shifted around a bit. The landscaping was all done after the original, adapted to the new layout. Hopefully a nice blend of Saturnfly's original, and new additions.

The house has one master bedroom, and a guest bedroom with two single beds. I added a small office, because I am a huge nerd and to me vacation is not a vacation without internet access. It could be converted into another small bedroom if one needs more beds. There is one kitchen, one bathroom, and half bath in the pool-house. Two lounge areas, and two outdoor patios. Plenty of places to sit and relax, and hang out. Perfect for a wealthy family looking for some sun and relaxation, or why not a spring break for your college students?

Required for the lot to look right
The windows in this lot are from OFB, and without CEP they will be red. So if you want it to look like it does in the pictures, make sure you have CEP and the CEP-EXTRA file called CEP-EXTRA_OFBWindows-Fix-for-AL.

CC NOT INCLUDED
While I am usually all about CC free lots, I built this for me and that means I used CC. Most of it I decided to replace with similar maxis versions, though the lot lost a little of it's white airy appeal. However, I felt the patio furniture were hard to replace with maxis content since the only white outdoor stuff look really cheap. And most importantly, it's such a wonderful set that everyone ought to have it any way, so I decided to leave it.

Patio furniture is from Honeywell's Patio and Garden set. While her policy allows it to be included in lots, I decided not to. It is a great, great set so I'd rather send you there to check out the other pieces. I also feel she deserves the downloads, for all the hard work it took to put it together. So please forgive me for making you go to a second thread, but I promise, it's worth it!

The firepit is in the zip called HW_firepit_EP-Required, everything else is in the zip called Outdoor Set_BASEGAME.

CC INCLUDED
The patio and garden set are slaved to Jonesi's bed blanket, as so many things are. The bed blanket and recolor is required for the cushions on the patio furniture to look right. The recolors don't pack with the lot because they are slaved, so I have added the recolor and mesh in a folder inside the zip. The recolor used is by amythestfenix at sims2artists, you'll find the entire set here. The shade used in this lot is called sea.

I imagine a lot of you already have the bed blanket, but I have included the version Honeywell had in her thread, because that's what I use. If you already have the bed blanket by Jonesi, you don't need that file. You don't need either of the files in the extra folder if you decide not to use Honeywell's patio furniture.

General information
The uploaded lot has never been inhabited by Sims. It has been play-tested for two weeks, on a separate copy.

Requirements
Requires all EPs and SPs. If anyone with mac really wants it, let me know and I'll see if I can't rebuild it for you in AGS.
